---
Amon’s eyes widened. "Two hundred thousand gold coins..."
For a moment, everything else disappeared from his mind.
He wasn’t thinking about the mana-rich land anymore, nor the locations he had marked on his map.
All he could think about was the armor hidden somewhere beneath his feet.
’An ancient Diamond-grade armor.’ Amon’s heart began beating faster.
He immediately rolled up his sleeves and looked around the empty riverbank. ’Where is it?’
He activated Merchant’s Divine Insight again and followed the location indicated by the System.
After finding the exact spot, he pointed toward the ground. "System, can you sell me a shovel?"
A notification appeared almost immediately.
---
[Basic Iron Shovel]
[Price: 10 System Points]
[Would you like to purchase this item?]
---
Amon didn’t hesitate. ’Buy it.’
Ten System Points disappeared from his balance, and a shovel immediately appeared in his hand.
Amon looked at it for a second before grinning. "Let’s dig."
He pushed the shovel into the soil.
The first few minutes were easy, but the ground became harder as he dug deeper.
Amon continued anyway while the sun slowly moved across the sky while piles of dirt accumulated around the hole.
He kept digging until his clothes became covered in dust and sweat gathered along his forehead.
After nearly half an hour, the shovel suddenly struck something hard.
CLANK!
Amon froze and his heart jumped at the sound. ’Found it.’
He immediately dropped the shovel and crouched down.
His fingers carefully brushed away the loose soil.
A small piece of something pale emerged from the ground.
Amon’s smile slowly disappeared. "...A skull?"
A cracked human skull stared back at him from beneath the dirt.
Amon remained completely still and his excitement disappeared almost instantly.
’The System didn’t fucking mention that the armor came with a dead body.’
He sat on the edge of the hole and stared at the skull. Technically, the person had been dead for who knew how long.
There was no way he could bring them back and the armor was simply buried with them.
’I’m not stealing from a living person.’ Amon paused. ’But I’m still digging up someone’s grave.’
He scratched his head. "Fuck."
For several seconds, he debated what to do.
The greedy part of his mind kept reminding him that the armor was worth two hundred thousand gold coins.
Another part of him was telling him that disturbing someone’s grave just because he wanted their belongings was a shitty thing to do.
Eventually, Amon sighed.
"...Sorry." He climbed back into the hole. "If you’re still listening somehow, I’ll put everything back when I’m done."
He continued digging carefully.
More bones slowly appeared beneath the soil.
Amon became increasingly careful as he uncovered the skeleton piece by piece, making sure he didn’t damage anything.
Eventually, the entire skeleton had been removed from the ground.
Amon stepped back and looked at it but there was no armor or weapons.
There wasn’t even a piece of clothing left after all those years.
The only thing remaining was a small ring resting around one of the skeleton’s fingers.
Amon frowned. "That’s it?"
He activated Merchant’s Divine Insight again.
The moment his eyes landed on the ring, his expression changed.

Amon stared at the ring. "...The armor is the ring?"
He carefully picked it up. ’So the armor was stored inside a ring and the System counted the armor itself as the item.’
Amon slipped the ring into his pocket and he then carefully returned the skeleton to the hole.
He arranged the bones as best as he could before covering them with the dirt he had removed.
After several minutes, the grave looked almost exactly as it had before.
Amon stood in front of it and lowered his head.
"I’m sorry for disturbing you." He remained silent for a moment before adding, "If there really is a heaven... I hope you get there."
Amon dusted his hands and looked at the ring.
According to the System, he needed to put a drop of blood on it to activate the armor.
He raised his finger and was about to bite it but he stopped.
’Wait.’ Amon’s expression slowly turned sheepishly. ’I have two wives now.’
He looked at the ring thoughtfully. ’It would be pretty shitty if I found something this valuable and didn’t give them anything.’
Amon imagined Seraphina or Nadya’s expressions when he handed them a Diamond-grade armor.
A grin appeared on his face but another thought came to him.
’...But I literally dug this out of a grave.’ Amon quickly shook his head. ’I’ll never tell them.’
He slipped the ring into his spatial bracelet. ’What they don’t know can’t hurt them.’
---
Amon continued checking the remaining three locations.
Unfortunately, none of them contained anything resembling mana-rich land.
The fifth location was nothing more than an ordinary hillside.
The sixth was an abandoned village with slightly higher mana levels, but not enough to be considered valuable.
By the time Amon finished, the sun was already beginning to disappear beyond the horizon.
He sat beside his Mana Bike on the empty road and leaned his back against it.
"...Seven locations." He stared at the orange sky. "One useful thing."
At least he had obtained something valuable but that wasn’t what he had been looking for.
Amon remembered Felicia’s words from earlier. ’It really isn’t easy to find mana-rich land.’
He sighed. "She was right."
Amon pushed himself up and stretched his aching back.
He looked toward the setting sun one last time before climbing onto the bike. "I’ll try again tomorrow."
The Mana Bike hummed quietly as he started the engine.
Amon turned toward the city and began riding home.
---
Night had already settled over the city when Amon finally returned to his apartment building.
The streets were illuminated by countless magical lamps, and people were still moving through the city despite the late hour.
Amon slowed down as he approached his building but then he noticed something.
A car was parked outside.
Amon narrowed his eyes slightly. ’Who’s that?’
He parked his Mana Bike beside the entrance and walked toward the car.
Before he could knock on the window, it rolled down.
A familiar face appeared behind the steering wheel. Seraphina smiled brightly.
"What’s up, baby?" She tilted her head playfully. "Want to go for a ride?"
Amon couldn’t help chuckling. "What is this behaviour?"
Seraphina grinned. "Is that a yes?"
"Sure."
Amon walked around the vehicle and opened the passenger door.
He sat down and fastened his seat belt before glancing toward her.
"...Wait." Amon slowly looked at the steering wheel. "Have you ever driven a car before?"
Seraphina smiled like an innocent giggling child. "Nope."
Amon’s face immediately went pale. "...You’re joking."
She started the engine. "I’m not."
Amon grabbed the door handle.
"Seraphina, wait--"
The car roared through the city streets like an uncontrollable bull.
