Amon opened his eyes and slowly stretched his body.

For a few seconds, he simply stared at the ceiling before remembering that it was Sunday.

Which meant there were no classes waiting for him at Walton Academy.

Even though there was no academy today, Amon had still woken up earlier than usual.

’If I keep relying on the System to fix everything, I’ll never become strong on my own.’

He quickly grabbed a towel from the chair beside his bed and walked toward the bathroom.

Only to stop when the door suddenly opened from the other side.

Ambrosia Doxie stepped out of the bathroom with a gentle smile on her face.

Her long dark hair fell naturally over her shoulders while she wore a simple long gown that reached almost to her ankles.

Unlike the professional clothes she normally wore for work, the loose dress gave her an elegant and relaxed appearance.

Her mature features looked noticeably softer in the morning light. "Good morning, Amon."

Amon blinked at her for a moment before giving her a small nod.

"Morning." He looked toward the bathroom before looking back at her. "Did you finally get some time for yourself?"

Ambrosia smiled helplessly and nodded her head. "Only today."

Amon sighed quietly because he already knew that she would probably spend the entire day working.

Before he could say anything else, Ambrosia suddenly grabbed his hand and began pulling him toward the kitchen with a surprisingly energetic expression.

"Come on, I made some cookies."

Amon immediately frowned. "Cookies?"

"You should try them and tell me how they taste."

Amon groaned as he allowed himself to be dragged along. He had never been particularly fond of sweets. "I don’t really like sweets."

Ambrosia completely ignored his complaint and continued dragging him toward the kitchen.

Amon was about to complain again when Ambrosia suddenly slowed down and looked at his hand.

Her smile gradually disappeared.

"Amon." Her voice had changed as she noticed something. "What happened?"

Ambrosia gently held his wrist and looked at it carefully. "Your hand feels much thinner than before."

Amon’s eyes moved toward his own wrist. ’Already noticed?’

He had lost a considerable amount of weight after repeatedly using the Mana Furnace.

Although he hadn’t expected anyone to notice so quickly, Ambrosia was apparently paying much more attention than he had realized.

"You’ve also lost a lot of weight." Ambrosia’s expression became increasingly concerned as she looked at his body. "Are you feeling unwell?"

Amon quickly shook his head. "I’m fine."

"Then why have you suddenly lost so much weight?"

Amon scratched the side of his head while trying to come up with an explanation.

"It’s probably because of one of the skills I received after awakening."

Ambrosia stared at him for a moment before her expression softened slightly.

"Is it safe?"

Amon nodded. "Yeah, it’s nothing dangerous."

She still didn’t look completely convinced.

"If you’re sure, then I’ll trust you." Ambrosia gently squeezed his hand before giving him a small smile. "But you should eat more if you’re losing weight so quickly."

Amon’s expression immediately became complicated.

’If I eat more, Sidney will probably throw me into the trash.’

He decided not to mention that part because he didn’t want to start another argument.

Ambrosia eventually placed a plate of freshly baked cookies on the table.

She picked one up before holding it toward him.

"Here."

Amon looked at the cookie. "You want me to eat it?"

"Yes."

She moved the cookie closer to his mouth with a gentle smile.

Amon sighed before quietly taking the cookie from her fingers and putting it into his mouth.

He chewed for a few seconds before his expression changed slightly. "It’s good."

Ambrosia’s smile immediately became brighter. "Really?"

Amon nodded while reaching for another cookie. "Yeah."

Before Ambrosia could say anything else, footsteps suddenly came from the hallway.

Amon glanced toward the sound before immediately looking at the ceiling.

Sidney walked out of her room wearing nothing more than a bra and a pair of shorts.

Ambrosia’s expression instantly crumbled.

"Sidney!"

Sidney stopped and looked toward her mother with a sleepy expression. "What?"

"Go back and put on something proper!"

Sidney looked down at herself before shrugging. "What’s wrong with this?"

Amon continued staring at the ceiling as if there was suddenly something extremely interesting about it.

’Don’t look. Just keep looking at the ceiling.’

Ambrosia’s voice became stricter. "You’re walking around the house dressed like that!"

Sidney rolled her eyes before walking toward the refrigerator. "I’m just getting a drink."

She opened the refrigerator and grabbed a soft drink. "I’m going back to sleep."

She turned around and casually walked back toward her room.

Ambrosia watched her disappear before letting out a tired sigh. "What am I going to do with that girl?"

Amon didn’t answer as he simply continued eating the cookie while keeping his eyes away from the hallway.

Ambrosia’s expression slowly changed as she reached toward the locket hanging around her neck.

Her fingers gently wrapped around the small piece of jewelry while her eyes became distant.

"After Gordon died, Sidney changed."

Amon’s hand stopped, and he slowly lowered his head, hiding his complicated expression.

Amon knew something that Sidney and Ambrosia didn’t.

That he... was responsible for Gordon’s death.

---

The morning air was cool when Amon stepped onto the empty road outside the apartment complex.

There were almost no people around at this hour.

The quiet streets gave him plenty of space to train without worrying about anyone watching him.

Amon stretched his arms and legs before taking several deep breaths.

His eyes moved toward the road ahead. ’Twenty rounds.’

He had originally planned to run only ten, but after remembering the Potential Assessment, he decided that he needed to push himself harder.

Amon leaned forward and began running, and the first few minutes went surprisingly well before his lungs began burning.

By the time he completed the first round, Amon was already breathing heavily and looked like a thirsty dog.

"Haah... haah..."

His legs felt heavy, and his chest felt like it was being squeezed.

Amon clenched his teeth and continued running anyway.

’Keep going.’

Amon continued running through the empty streets until one round became five, then ten, and eventually twenty.

When he finally stopped, his entire body was trembling.

He stood there for several seconds before slowly lowering himself toward the ground.

"Twenty sit-ups."

Amon gritted his teeth and began.

The first few were easy, but the next few became painful.

By the time he reached twenty, his stomach was burning, and sweat was dripping from his forehead.

He didn’t stop there. "Twenty push-ups."

Amon placed both hands against the ground and lowered himself.

His arms began trembling before he reached ten.

At fifteen, his muscles were screaming.

At twenty, Amon collapsed onto the ground and remained there for several seconds.

"Fuck..."

He rolled onto his back and stared at the sky while trying to catch his breath.

His entire body felt like it had been beaten with a hammer, but a small smile still appeared on his face.

’At least I did it.’

Amon slowly forced himself back onto his feet and began walking toward the apartment.

The return journey felt considerably longer than usual, and by the time he finally reached the building, he was completely exhausted.

He approached the entrance while wiping the sweat from his forehead.

’...Hm?’ There was another pair of shoes outside his apartment. ’...Those aren’t Ambrosia’s.’

He looked at the shoes again, and they were too elegant to belong to Sidney.

Amon’s tired expression slowly became confused. ’Who the hell came here?’

He opened the door and stepped inside.

The moment he entered the living room, Amon froze.

Ambrosia was sitting on the sofa, and sitting opposite her was a familiar blue-haired girl.

Seraphina turned toward him.

Their eyes met, and for several seconds, neither of them said anything.

The silence was louder than anything else in the room.

’...Why the fuck is she here?’
