Chapter 287: Chapter 268: Human Federation Themed Conference

On November 24th, the Human Federation held a meeting in North Star.

This meeting had two main topics on the agenda: the space colonization program and how to handle the Fire Worship Cult in Fahe Country.

After the meeting began, Commissioner Mary, the representative from the Soloma Empire, first asked about the robots that had been sent to the various nations.

Following the last meeting, the Soloma Empire had sent a free batch of Intelligent Robots to each member nation of the Human Federation. Some time had passed, and every country had now put them to use.

"What does everyone think of our robots?" Mary asked with a smile. "Are they good enough to replace real people yet?"

"They certainly can’t completely replace real people, but... the robots your country produces are indeed capable of handling the vast majority of jobs," said the commissioner from the Black Banner Country.

The commissioner from Sakura Prayer Country added, "First, thank you for the Soloma Empire’s gift. The quality of these robots is outstanding. They can complete their input commands on schedule and to specifications."

Even Commissioner Sisiya, who had mocked Mary at the last meeting, had to reluctantly admit that Soloma’s robots were indeed impressive.

These robots didn’t just handle ordinary tasks; they could even manage complex, high-intensity coordination work that required significant brainpower, and their efficiency far surpassed that of humans.

"And Chairman Gao?" Mary asked Gao Liangwei, who had been silent. "What about the one hundred robots sent to your country? What is their practical value?"

Gao Liangwei replied, "They’re very impressive. These robots already possess highly advanced intelligence."

After that batch of robots arrived, North Star’s official scientific research department immediately disassembled and studied them.

Their conclusion was that while the other components were unremarkable, the key lay in the processing chips installed inside the robots.

The structure of these chips was extremely unusual, completely different from conventional chips, and their internal algorithms were impossible to analyze. It could be said that it was precisely because of these chips that the robots could perform almost indistringuishably from humans.

"If our assessment is correct, the chips inside these robots were created using the power of Psychic Power, weren’t they?"

And once Psychic Power was involved, many of the known laws of human science no longer applied.

It was just like the "Ascender’s Home" website. After countless hackers had tried and failed, one after another, to crack it, it was now universally acknowledged to be not a normal website at all, but a special creation related to Psychic Power.

"That’s right," Mary admitted readily. "A special talent in our country acquired an ability related to chip research, which is how we were able to create this one-of-a-kind marvel."

’So that’s how it is...’

The eyes of several commissioners filled with envy.

An ability like this—one that could drive technological development, or rather, be applied on a large scale to advance society—was the most important kind of ability for a nation.

Perhaps a hundred or even a thousand Ascenders with such abilities couldn’t defeat a single Lucifer. But if any nation were given the choice, they would invariably choose the former, not the latter.

From a national perspective, Lucifer was just a powerful thug. His value was far less than that of a person with a scientific research-based Psychic Power ability or item.

"Our next step is to begin mass-producing these robots on an even larger scale," Mary said. "By next year, we’ll bring the total population of humans and robots in our country to one hundred million. If the governments you commissioners represent are interested in co-creating a society of Intelligent Robots, we in Soloma are willing to assist."

The commissioners all nodded, indicating that they would consult with their official departments after returning to their countries at the conclusion of the meeting.

No one agreed outright. On one hand, they didn’t have the authority to make such a decision; on the other, they weren’t entirely at ease.

These robots were all made by Soloma, and from the sound of Mary’s words, they had no intention of open-sourcing the manufacturing method for the logic chips. Who could guarantee that there wasn’t a backdoor left in the chip’s programming?

If they were to introduce these robots in large numbers, and something went wrong one day—if Soloma remotely activated a backdoor to do something—the consequences could be severe.

"Let’s set aside the matter of the robots for now," Gao Liangwei said. "Regarding the space colonization program, North Star has made a preliminary decision to attempt a manned rocket launch to land on Terra by the end of this year for colonization testing."

Mary said, "We in Soloma have also scheduled a manned rocket launch for next month, at the end of December. As long as we aren’t affected by the rules, on January 1st of next year, there will be Soroma People on Terra."

The other commissioners fell silent at her words.

Their countries might have once had the resources and capability to launch manned spacecraft to Terra. But after more than a dozen ’rules,’ they had suffered losses in resources and personnel, and their nations had lost the technical expertise and talent reserves for many high-end industries.

For major powers, their large talent pools meant that even if some were lost to the ’rules,’ they wouldn’t immediately experience technological regression.

Currently, only three nations—North Star, Soloma, and Sisiya—truly had enough talent and technology to ensure the astronauts’ safety with a high degree of probability.

Before the ’earthquake rule,’ Sakura Prayer Country had also stood a chance, but the earthquake destroyed their islands, taking all of their aerospace facilities with them.
