A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin
Chapter 905 - Return to the Sect, Awaiting the StormLi Guanqi rose, took a single step, and vanished from the summit.
On the Gu clan’s rear mountain, he found Gu Li and got straight to the point. “Take me to your father.”
Li Guanqi clearly had some of his old spirit back. Gu Li smiled knowingly. “Come on. He’s in the study.”
Knock knock knock!
“Come in.”
Creak...
Gu Li and Li Guanqi entered Gu Changsheng’s study together.
Li Guanqi bowed. “Uncle Gu, I’m sorry to have worried you these past two days.”
Gu Changsheng waved it off and stood up with a smile. “As long as you’ve pulled yourself together, nothing else matters. Quite a few alchemists were taken, but some were outsiders. All their factions showing up at once have been a headache.”
Gu Changsheng made it sound simple, but Li Guanqi knew how much work was involved. The entire affair had started because of him, and the thought still weighed on him.
Gu Changsheng pointed to a nearby chair. “All right, tell me. What do you need?”
Li Guanqi took a deep breath. “There’s something I need to ask of you!”
“Go ahead.”
“I want to move the safe haven fragments where Ye Feng and the others are breaking through to the Daxia Sword Sect.”
Gu Changsheng frowned. “After everything that’s happened, you still want to take them back? Your Uncle Meng and I are both here. Even if the Lu clan tried anything again, they’d have to think twice. If you go back to Daxia Sword Sect, you’ll be the only one who can hold things together. Are you sure about this?”
Li Guanqi drew another deep breath and nodded, his gaze unwavering. “I’m sure. I may be safe here, but it’s already been three days. If I remain here, they won’t dare contact me.”
Gu Changsheng’s expression hardened. He studied Li Guanqi’s eyes. “Kid, are you confident you can pull this off?”
His meaning was clear. If Li Guanqi returned alone, he might not be able to handle whatever trap the enemy had prepared. The safest choice was for him to remain with the Gu clan, wait for the Sha organization to make contact, and move out with them afterward. With Xiang Huaizhi and the other tier-eight alchemists, they would have five Mahayana Realm cultivators on their side. Even if the Sha organization’s leader had reached the half-step Tribulation Realm, he would have no choice but to retreat.
Li Guanqi nodded firmly.
Gu Li grabbed him by the collar, genuinely panicked. “Have you lost your mind? How are you supposed to fight the entire Sha organization by yourself? They’ve thrown the Six Territories into turmoil! How are you going to face them alone?”
Li Guanqi’s eyes flickered. He couldn’t reveal his plan yet. It had to unfold one step at a time.
There was no talking Li Guanqi out of it, so Gu Changsheng said, “Fine. Get Old Meng over here so we can discuss it. The two of us will escort you back to the Daxia Sword Sect.”
Li Guanqi cupped his fists and bowed deeply. “Thank you, Uncle Gu. I won’t forget this.”
Gu Changsheng brushed it aside. “Just train hard. That’s worth more than any thanks. Besides, what could I possibly need from you?”
Gu Li pursed his lips. “Oh, I don’t know. Entry to the Seventh Territory? Some dragon blood? Give him another decade, and he might be somebody. Bit early to say you’ll never need anything from him, Dad.”
Gu Changsheng shot him a furious glare.
Roar!
A dragon’s cry shattered the moment.
Countless Gu clan disciples looked up in shock at the massive lightning dragon overhead. Four ink jiao dragons flanked him, their savage demonic qi sweeping across the heavens.
Nine Heavens searched the ground below until he spotted Li Guanqi, then led the four ink jiao dragons down toward the rear mountain.
The five great beasts circled overhead, an awe-inspiring sight. Moments later, Ye Xuan stepped out of the void with a resigned expression.
Gu Changsheng threw his head back and laughed. “Brother Ye, did someone kidnap your sect’s ink jiao dragons?”
Ye Xuan did not want to admit it, but he could hardly deny what was right in front of him.
Meng Jiangchu arrived with Meng Wanshu. The instant Nine Heavens spotted Meng Wanshu, he lowered his proud head, closed his eyes, and gently nuzzled her palm.
Meng Wanshu giggled at Nine Heavens. He had grown so enormous that one of his eyes alone was as tall as she was.
Li Guanqi stepped out of the study, sunlight spilling across his shoulders beneath the eaves. The self-assured man he had once been was back.
Meng Wanshu’s eyes brightened.
Li Guanqi explained his plan. Meng Jiangchu and the other two exchanged looks, then agreed.
Meng Jiangchu took out a massive array tray roughly three chi across. It linked the Meng family domain and the Daxia Sword Sect through a transport passage.
Gu Changsheng vanished for a moment. When he returned later, he carried a few motes of spirit light. He exhaled. “We need to move quickly. Their energy is stable for now, but they’re building up strength.”
The group immediately took to the air. Gu Changsheng even sealed the entire Gu clan domain and took it with him. He had no intention of letting someone rob him while his back was turned. If that happened, he wouldn’t even know where to go cry about it.
Once everyone was ready, they entered the transport passage.
Li Guanqi’s eyes glinted as he murmured, “The board is set. Let’s go.”
They vanished.
At the Daxia Sword Sect, word had already reached Lu Kangnian. He hovered in midair with a grim expression, unable to believe how much had happened in such a short span of time.
Drawing on every rare resource the sect possessed, Lu Kangnian had reached the peak of the mid-Illusory Refinement Realm.
After Li Guanqi opened Lu Kangnian’s Saint-tier spirit void, his combat strength had soared. Internal conflicts within Daxia Sword Sect had all but disappeared, and Duantai Yiting’s faction had fallen silent.
Gong Ze and Qin Xian stood together, smiling as they watched the horizon. Tu Zhongqiu and Nangong Qianyan stood behind Lu Kangnian with stern expressions.
Ji Hong stood beside Duantai Yiting. On Duantai Yiting’s other side stood a one-armed elder. The elder was Han Chengxian. His right arm had been severed by Lu Kangnian himself.
Han Chengxian had underestimated Lu Kangnian’s ruthlessness. If he hadn’t kneeled and begged for mercy, his head would probably be hanging from the mountain gate.
Hum!
A spatial rift opened. Li Guanqi, accompanied by three Mahayana Realm cultivators, appeared above the Daxia Sword Sect.
Lu Kangnian stepped forward, leading every peak master and elder in a bow.
