A Bug In Fate

Silence stretched between them as she stood there, staring at Alden without saying another word. For the first time in her life, she genuinely didn’t know how she was supposed to respond.

"What did you just say?" Ravenna asked after a moment of silence.

"I said that it will likely take one week for me to make my own technique."

Alden replied in a calm tone. He could tell that she wasn’t believing what he was saying.

"And how are you supposed to do that? Even then, I don’t want you to develop a mediocre technique for yourself."

Ravenna said in a strict tone. She didn’t rejalize it yet, but she was really behaving like a teacher, even though it was her first time.

An amused smile appeared on Ravenna’s face.

The things powerful people lacked were entertainment and excitement, and that was because nearly all powerful cultivators put all their effort into training during their youth. By the time they later had the power to do whatever they wanted, they had already lost interest in those things.

The title lived up to its name, as this was a technique that made one stronger if they cultivated under the moon—Blue Moon, to be precise.

Now he wouldn’t be surprised if he found a technique based on the Red Moon, or even one made for both of them.

"Thank you. I will do my best."

Alden said, and it was true. Like, who the hell wouldn’t want the best for themselves?

"Okay, so let’s return to the city."

Ravenna spoke and was about to snap her finger but was stopped by Alden.

"Wait... can’t we just stay here? I mean, this place is beautiful, and I feel reading here is better than reading inside a room while surrounded by darkness."

Alden spoke, and Ravenna’s expression turned thoughtful.

She didn’t find anything wrong with what he said. This place was really beautiful, and the lake beside them gave it an even better view.

She said and was just about to disappear when Alden suddenly called out to her.
