Claire Kane smiled.

She said, "Just moving houses, right? A day's time is more than enough."

After receiving an affirmative response.

Dirk Carter smiled.

He said, "Alright, I'll leave this matter to you. I'm heading out now."

After leaving those words, Dirk Carter got up.

Just as he was about to step out.

Claire Kane suddenly shouted, "Wait a minute!"

Dirk Carter turned back in confusion and asked, "Anything else?"

Claire Kane hesitated for a moment and forced a smile, saying, "No, nothing. I just wanted to say that the medicine you gave me last time was indeed quite effective."

"That's good. After you finish it, I'll send more over. As I said, you should get more sunlight."

After Dirk Carter's silhouette disappeared from the office.

Claire Kane gently pressed her two crimson lips together.

Her mind was still savoring the feeling of the kiss just now.

So magical.

Really so magical.

That indescribable sensation is simply beyond words.

Though Claire Kane runs such a place.

To this day, she had not only never touched a man, but her first kiss was still intact.

In other words, the kiss Dirk Carter just gave was her first.

It was taken away by Dirk Carter so unceremoniously.

Coming out from the basement.

Still as usual, Dirk Carter was preparing to walk forward a few steps to hail a taxi.

But just after walking out the door of the underground parking lot.

He heard someone behind him shouting, "Dirk Carter, you bastard, stop right there."

Without turning around, he knew who was behind him.

Looks like Boyd Linden had caught up.

Sure enough.

Dirk Carter didn't stop.

Boyd Linden jogged a few steps and directly blocked him in front.

"What's this? Bullying our young lady and trying to run away?"

Boyd Linden asked contemptuously.

Dirk Carter laughed, "I can't quite understand your words; what do you mean by bullying your young lady? It's mutual consent, what's it got to do with you?"

"It's exactly to do with me!"

Boyd Linden shouted.

Dirk Carter sneered, "What's it got to do with you? I see you seem to have a crush on your young lady, no? Are you jealous?"

Boyd Linden's face flushed red.

He angrily said, "You're talking nonsense; I'm protecting our young lady. You think I can't see you've drugged her."

After saying that.

He searched his pockets for a while.

Soon, a bottle appeared in his palm.

Dirk Carter saw it clearly, startled, because the bottle in Boyd Linden's hand was the one he had given to Claire Kane.

"How did you manage to steal the medicine I gave her? What has she been taking these days?"

Dirk Carter asked.

Boyd Linden snorted coldly.

He said, "I replaced it with other medicine; the pills you gave her, I would never let her take. Who knows what you're up to, Dirk Carter? Your devious plan was exposed by me; aren't you feeling defeated?"

At that moment, Dirk Carter was amused and frustrated.

"Ignorant fool, you think you're doing her good; you're harming her. Regardless of your hostility towards me, I won't fight over the woman you fancy. Hurry and switch back the medicine and have your young lady take it every day, or else you'll regret it."

Dirk Carter said seriously.

Boyd Linden let out a cold laugh.

He raised his hand.

And directly tossed a parabolic line.

The medicine bottle smashed onto the road and shattered.

The pills inside scattered all over, and a passing car crushed them to powder.

"You..."

Seeing this scene, Dirk Carter was genuinely furious.

He clenched his fist, itching to swing a punch.

But he knew he wasn't a match for Boyd Linden.

Let alone, Boyd Linden simply misunderstood his intentions.

"How about it, feeling quite frustrated? Remember, I'm always watching you."

Boyd Linden said smugly.

Dirk Carter didn't want to deal with him anymore.

Turning around.

He suddenly thought of something.

And said to Boyd Linden, "Make sure to keep an eye on your young lady lately. If there's an emergency, call me immediately."

After leaving those words.

Dirk Carter walked away quickly.

Boyd Linden sneered, "Emergency? What does our young lady's emergency have to do with you? Pretending to care?"

...

The next morning.

As soon as Dirk Carter arrived at the office, he kept an eye on Cora Young's movements.

Around nine-thirty.

Cora Young left the Municipal Committee Compound by car.

Dirk Carter quickly sent Basilio Sinclair a message.

Now he just had to wait for the results.

Just as he was about to organize his work for the day, the office door was knocked.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Municipal Government Office, Domhnall West, walked in.

He said, "Mayor Carter, excuse me, people from the city TV station are here, and they want to do an interview with you."

"An interview with me? What do they mean?"

Dirk Carter paused and asked.

Domhnall West said, "Oh, it's like this, the TV station said your achievements in Helios County were quite outstanding, and now you've taken on a new leadership role, they want to ask for your thoughts."

"Thoughts? What thoughts? Secretary-General West, please refuse for me; I'm not a big fan of such interviews."

Just as Dirk Carter finished speaking.

A familiar woman's voice asked, "Why? Mayor Carter, do you think you'll be shy in front of the camera?"

Upon hearing this voice.

Dirk Carter quickly looked up.

Sure enough, standing there was a familiar face.

After a brief amazement.

Dirk Carter waved at Domhnall West, saying, "You can go out, I'll handle this."

Domhnall West tactfully retreated.

The woman stood in front, graceful, with a faint smile on her face.

"Why are you here?"

Dirk Carter asked.

The woman smiled slightly and said, "Didn't Secretary-General West just say, here to do an interview with you."

Dirk Carter was taken aback.

Asked, "You... you've started working at Veridia City TV Station?"

The woman shrugged, saying, "Why? Shock or surprise?"

"Both."

Dirk Carter replied.

The woman in front of him was none other than Ardmore City's TV station's leading star, Elsie Eames.

The last time they met.

Was at Dirk Carter's wedding.

At the time, Elsie Eames was also a member of the "beauty group."

But apart from having a drink, there was no extra communication between them.

Tracing back further, it should be the time Dirk Carter wanted to discipline Jaden Lawson.

After that incident.

Although the two occasionally kept in touch by phone.

The actual meetings have been scarce.

Talking about the fate with Elsie Eames.

Really quite special.

Between them, there had been countless times of ambiguous atmosphere.

If it were anyone else, they would've hit the sheets long ago, but in fact, between Dirk Carter and Elsie Eames, there hasn't been any real "all the way" interaction.

The last time he saw Elsie Eames.

She was sprawled out on the couch sleeping, her lower body completely exposed to Dirk Carter's view.
