"What's going on?"
Claire Kane was completely taken aback.
Totally confused about why Dirk Carter had suddenly become like this.
Dirk excitedly grabbed her hand and said, "You're saved, you're saved, I found a way to save you."
"Dirk, you don't have to comfort me, I know..."
Claire hadn't finished speaking.
Dirk interrupted her.
He said, "I'm not comforting you, it's true. Just now when we kissed, your heart started pumping faster. Didn't you also feel less weak?"
Claire focused to sense her body's condition.
Immediately, she too became ecstatic.
"It does seem like that. Just now I didn't even have the strength to sit up, but now, I don't feel dizzy anymore."
Dirk pointed to the sun in the sky.
He said, "Starting today, you need to come out and get some sun often. Whenever I have time, I'll come over and kiss you..."
Upon hearing this.
Claire's face suddenly turned red.
She mumbled, "I've never heard of kissing saving lives."
"Hahaha, there are plenty of things in the world you've never heard of."
"Is it really just kissing that can cure me?"
Claire asked.
Dirk pondered for a moment.
He said, "Maybe after you're a bit better, I can even sleep with you..."
"You're so annoying!"
Claire playfully hit Dirk in her shyness.
At that time, Dirk was still immersed in the excitement of finding a method, not noticing that Claire's eyes were overflowing with intense affection.
After leaving The Empyrean Palace and just opening the door.
Liza Yuill dashed over from the sofa.
She handed him a pair of slippers directly.
She wrapped her arms around his and affectionately said, "Dirk, I've already made dinner."
Saying that, she proudly pointed to the table.
The dining table was indeed already filled with dishes, and they smelled quite good.
"Why did you start cooking as soon as you arrived today?"
Dirk had just asked.
A voice came from the living room, saying, "Well, she's really diligent, unlike the two of us who only order takeout."
This comment sounded somewhat sarcastic.
Dirk looked over.
Ewan Forrest and Rose Forrest were both sitting on the sofa with their arms crossed.
Rose seemed okay.
Ewan looked a bit upset, with a clearly unhappy expression.
"Ewan, I didn't give you a heads-up about this matter, so let me introduce you, this is..."
Dirk was just about to say something to Ewan.
Ewan snorted coldly.
She said, "No need for introductions, I already know, her name is Liza Yuill, you met in Kenning City, and she's a life-and-death friend. She even got hurt for you, and I also heard that you shaved her hair."
Dirk was stunned for a moment upon hearing this.
He looked at Liza.
Liza pouted.
She said, "I wanted to get closer to my two sisters, so I told them how we met, I don't know why, but they didn't seem too happy after hearing it."
"Alright, it's not your fault, go get ready for dinner, I'll talk to Ewan."
"Okay."
She responded.
Liza then happily went into the kitchen.
Dirk came over to Ewan, and sat down on the coffee table, facing both sisters.
"Since you both know now, it saves me from explaining..."
"Alright, you don't need to say anymore. We two are here to protect you, and yet you brought in an outsider. How are we supposed to report back to them?"
Ewan asked emotionally.
Dirk was taken aback.
Asked, "Report back to whom?"
Ewan realized she misspoke.
She glanced toward the kitchen and said, "I have a feeling she's not a good person, I advise you to stay away from her."
"Ewan! Aren't you going too far! Liza got hurt and lost her job because of me, I let her come and be a nanny so you two could relax a bit, isn't that good?"
"Fine, fine, you win."
After saying that, Ewan stood up, looking like she was about to leave.
"Sis, aren't you eating?"
Rose asked.
Ewan grabbed her hand and said, "Let's go eat outside, Miss Yuill is his nanny, not ours."
Rose stuck her tongue out at Dirk.
Resignedly left with Ewan.
At this moment.
Liza happened to come out with bowls and chopsticks.
She just so happened to see the two sisters leave.
Puzzled, she asked, "Aren't the two sisters staying for dinner?"
Dirk said irritably, "Don't mind them, we'll eat by ourselves."
After saying this.
He directly sat down.
Liza set the table, then sat down opposite Dirk.
Seeing her forlorn expression.
Dirk asked, "What's wrong?"
Liza sniffed and said, "Dirk, do the two sisters dislike me? If it doesn't work out, I'll leave."
"I told you, don't mind them, it's my home and I make the rules. If I want you to stay, you stay."
Dirk's words were firm.
Liza smiled through her tears upon hearing this.
She picked up a piece of rib for Dirk and said, "Dirk, try my cooking."
Dirk took a bite.
Immediately praised it.
He had to admit.
Liza's cooking indeed tasted quite good.
After dinner.
Dirk was just about to return to his room.
Suddenly, the phone rang.
Checking the number, it was Gwendolyn Lewis calling.
For some reason, Dirk felt a sinking feeling, a bad premonition that something might have gone wrong somewhere.
"Gwendolyn, what's up?"
Dirk asked.
Over the phone, Gwendolyn sounded anxious, asking, "Dirk, where are you?"
"I'm at home."
"Terrence Hall is in trouble, he committed suicide."
Hearing this from Gwendolyn.
Dirk felt a chill in his heart.
On the phone, Gwendolyn quickly explained the situation.
Around nine o'clock this morning.
The station chief Braddock Yarbrough came to relieve instructor Fred Carter.
Upon arriving, he found Terrence Hall lying motionless on the bed in the detention room.
Felt something was off.
So he brought people to enter the detention room.
First called out a few times from outside, but there was no response, so he opened the iron gate inside.
Upon getting closer.
They found Terrence Hall's eyes were sunken, and his complexion was pale.
"What was the cause of death?"
Dirk asked.
Gwendolyn said, "It was a wrist-cutting suicide, and the weapon has been found – it was a razor blade."
The wooden bed in the detention room has gaps.
Terrence Hall was lying on his side.
After his arm was cut.
The blood flowed directly under the wooden bed, completely out of view of the surveillance.
"Didn't the staff on duty notice anything unusual?"
Dirk's words had just left his mouth when he felt a tremble in his heart.
"This is bad! Trouble is coming!"
Dirk muttered to himself.
Because at that moment, he suddenly remembered that last night when they went in to interrogate Terrence Hall, they had turned off the surveillance for a while, and now Terrence Hall had suddenly died.
If nothing unexpected happened, all the evidence was going to point to him.
