"You don't need to worry, I'll handle it!"
The man spoke to the woman quite gently.
After saying that, he looked at Dirk Carter again, directly pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket, tossed it on the table by the window, and said, "A thousand bucks, enough for two tickets."
Dirk glanced at the money, didn't take it to heart at all, and leaned back against the pillow, reading his book.
The man noticed, oh, still not tempted by a thousand bucks?
This time, he directly pulled out his wallet.
He threw another wad of cash on the table.
This time, it looked like more than three thousand.
"Not enough, is it? Here, I'll add a bit more for you, now is it enough? This is at least three to four thousand here, enough tickets for how many trips."
The man said.
The tone was as if Dirk Carter was being insatiable.
He thought money's appeal was limitless.
Unexpectedly, Dirk Carter still didn't move, anger surged up, and he pointed at Dirk's face and shouted angrily, "What? Still not enough? Don't give an inch and take a mile!"
"Buddy, you're really getting into character alone, I never asked you for money, what's the matter, showing off your wealth?"
Dirk snorted coldly and asked.
"So, what you're saying is, it's still not enough?"
Truly someone who doesn't appreciate it, he couldn't hear what Dirk Carter meant.
Maybe thought money was almighty.
Or perhaps wanted to show off in front of the girlfriend.
The man generously slapped all the cash from his wallet onto the table.
The money on the table quickly amounted to over ten thousand.
Over ten thousand, nearly three months' salary for Dirk Carter.
If it were an ordinary person, no one would turn their nose up at money, but don't forget, Dirk Carter had no concept of money at all, just Dorothy Zechariah's assets alone would be enough for him for a lifetime.
"Is it enough this time?"
The man said somewhat smugly.
Dirk Carter glanced sideways.
Simply turned his back, ignoring him.
This action completely enraged the man.
He rushed forward, grabbed the back of Dirk Carter's neck, and shouted, "Are you going to get out or not? If not, don't blame me for getting physical."
The woman saw this.
Immediately pulled the man, shouted, "Brynn, what are you doing? If others don't agree, they don't agree, if you keep acting like this, I'm changing cabins, it's embarrassing to be out with you."
Perhaps these words worked.
The man let go.
But didn't forget to mutter, "Ungrateful, damn shouldn't be taking a train, people from the lower classes come in all sorts."
Hearing this.
Dirk Carter put down the book in his hand.
Sit up.
Looked at the furious man, and asked, "Taking a train makes you inferior?"
"What? Taking a train can elevate you or something? This lousy cabin, you really think I'd be thrilled to sit here? If it weren't for being unable to buy plane tickets, would I be in the same cabin as you? You should be laughing secretly, and don't get smug, once off this train, if I see you again, believe me, I'll break your legs."
"I don't believe it!"
Dirk Carter said.
The man's reaction to hearing that.
Suddenly stood up.
The woman glared at him.
Said, "Fine, do whatever you want, I'm leaving, isn't it enough?"
Seeing that the woman got genuinely angry.
The man sat back down, waving the white flag.
Said, "Mona, Mona, isn't it enough if I stop? Don't be mad, don't be mad, I'm not arguing with him, sit down."
He tugged at the woman's clothes begging for quite a while.
The woman finally softened.
Plopped down on the bed, took a cup out of her bag, and said, "Go get me some water, I'm thirsty."
"Okay, okay, I'll get you water, I'll get you water."
Taking the cup.
The man said meekly.
Before heading out, he suddenly thought of something, turned around and pointed at Dirk Carter and said, "Kid, watch yourself, if your eyes wander, I'll dig them out."
"Aren't you going?"
The woman scolded.
The man, with a fawning smile, said, "Going, going, going right now!"
After saying that.
He hurried out.
"Sir, I'm sorry, he... indeed has no manners, I apologize for him."
Once the man left.
The woman was silent for a moment, then spoke softly to Dirk Carter.
Originally, there was indeed some anger.
The woman's good attitude naturally melted it away.
Dirk Carter waved his hand and said, "When traveling, things like this are normal. If I've really inconvenienced you, I can change cabins."
After saying.
Dirk Carter stood up from the bed.
Was about to reach for his luggage.
Seeing this, the woman felt more embarrassed, and quickly said, "Sir, it's not necessary, really not necessary."
"It's fine, if we talk it through, there's nothing we can't negotiate. I'll switch cabins; otherwise, you'll be uncomfortable, and so will I."
Seeing Dirk Carter's firm attitude.
The woman got anxious.
Grabbed his arm and said, "Sir, this is our fault, if anyone's switching, it's us, it's not your concern."
"It's all the same, I'm alone, it's easier for me."
Just like this.
The two continued to exchange polite words.
At the moment when their hands pulled each other.
With a tearing sound.
The cabin door was opened.
The man happened to appear at the door at the right moment.
He couldn't care less about what happened before, only seeing that their hands were now pulling each other.
"Stop!"
He immediately turned red.
Roared.
Raised the cup in his hand and poured it over Dirk Carter.
Fortunately, Dirk Carter reacted quickly, or else he'd have been scalded today.
He instinctively used his hand to shield.
The boiling water inside the cup spilled all over Dirk Carter's forearm.
Luckily the cabin was cold, and Dirk Carter was still wearing a light jacket, otherwise the boiling water directly splashing on the arm would have been serious.
Even so.
The intense pain spread from his arm.
A cloud of steam rose.
Dirk Carter inhaled sharply, quickly took off his jacket.
Only then did he notice, the entire forearm had turned red from the burn.
"Brynn Quincy, what are you doing?"
Seeing such a scene.
The woman shouted loudly.
Quickly held up Dirk Carter's arm, concernedly said, "Let me take you to get some cold water, otherwise it'll blister and be very painful later."
The man named Brynn Quincy tried to defend himself.
The woman directly extended her long finger, pointed at his face, and angrily said, "You...you...I have no words for you."
After saying that.
She supported Dirk Carter out of the cabin.
Seeing his girlfriend left with Dirk Carter.
Brynn Quincy said nothing and followed right behind them.
"Why are you following? Go back to the cabin!"
The woman turned around and commanded upon hearing the footsteps.
Brynn Quincy responded nonchalantly, "I can't, this kid clearly isn't trustworthy, I need to protect you."
