A Crusader with System in the Middle Ages

Chapter 89: A Note on the Premium Release

This book will be going premium tomorrow. I’m begging all you esteemed readers for your support.

This is my first attempt at writing in this genre. Though I’ve always been an enthusiast of the Middle Ages, this is truly my first time writing a story set in that period.

Like many others, I went from reading novels to writing them, and from a novice to a veteran flop.

Novels have given my life a lot of meaning. There was a time when I even felt that writing novels was all I had left in life.

Every time I sit down to write, the process is often arduous, especially when I have writer’s block. Most of my day is spent reading related books and watching films and TV shows for research, and my brief moments of leisure feel rushed.

Even though the process is arduous, I still love it. It makes me feel like my existence has some small measure of meaning.

It’s so that when I suddenly bump into friends I rarely see, they can still remember me as ’that daydreamer who actually wrote a novel, and it’s pretty good, too.’

I first became interested in the Middle Ages after reading a complete history of the world one day. It was only after I finished the book that I gradually grew to love the era.

It remained in a feudal Status for a long time. The power of its monarchies was completely incomparable to that of the Kingdoms in the East. This led to a looser social structure, making it more dynamic and unique.

The existence of the Pope kept the nations of Western Europe in a certain kind of alliance.

In any given country, you could find people from other nations doing business or even serving as officials.

Marriages among the Nobility could even lead to territorial shifts.

City representatives could haggle with the King.

Merchants could make loans directly to the King.

The Pope could, through the power of faith, unite several nations to defend against—or even attack—what was deemed Heresy.

A King governed his realm primarily by traveling through it.

In the wars of the Middle Ages, even a King would personally take to the battlefield, fighting alongside his Knights...

I promise to do my best to recreate an authentic Middle Ages. For the finer details, I will do my best to consult relevant books and provide specific citations in a timely manner.

The book will go premium at noon tomorrow. I’m begging all you esteemed readers to please support it with a first-day subscription.

Currently, a Middle Ages-themed novel has yet to become a top-tier hit on Qidian. WAAAH... I’m on my knees, begging my esteemed readers for those first-day subscriptions.
