Seraphina Sterling had neither the time nor the energy to get hung up on trivial matters. "What can I do for you, Mr. Winters? You had someone come all the way to the lobby to invite me. Am I supposed to feel honored and surprised?"

’I’m rolling my eyes so hard right now. Is this guy an idiot? What are phones even for? If he really needed to find me, couldn’t he have just called? Did he have to be so high-profile about it?’

"Mr. Winters, I’m very busy. I mean, really busy. If you don’t have anything important to discuss, I’m leaving."

I could have made so much more, but my own caution made me miss out on such huge profits.’ It was a physically painful thought. "One has to be flexible in business! Agreements can be refined! Nothing is non-negotiable. Go on, what are your conditions?"

"Conditions?" Seraphina Sterling’s bright eyes met Ronan Winters’s assured expression. "There are no conditions. This matter is not negotiable."

"You can have twenty percent of the profits!" Ronan Winters had been about to say ten percent, but seeing Seraphina Sterling’s unwavering expression, he raised his offer by ten percent on the spot. Money makes the world go ’round, after all. He refused to believe she would remain so steadfast in the face of such a massive potential gain.
