[Welcome to the world of Hong Yuan]
A window appeared before Li Jiwen’s new eyes.
He looked around, closed his eyes, and opened them again.
His face twisted in confusion at what was in front of him.
Finally, words escaped his mouth.
"What ? I was just in my room writing a new novel. What happened?"
He looked around.
The entirety of the place was different, too dangerous, and filled with things that looked ancient from his world.
He moved his hands to his eyes and closed them.
Then he began to brush off anything in front of his eyes, but the window did not disappear.
A thought closed his mind, and he said weirdly, "What? Am I actually transmigrated into another world of magic and such stuff."
Finally, he stopped and thought with his mind for the first time since he woke up in this place.
"Ah, a system. A golden finger, like these things from ancient novels that I used to read. Well, that’s something."
Li Jiwen got to his legs and looked around.
The room was old and dusted.
It was not totally clean and too simple for his taste.
It was just a bed, a wardrobe, and a mirror. Nothing else.
He hummed, then said, "Well, that looks interesting. An ancient world, probably from ancient days as well. A different thing than I used to know."
Another window appeared in front of him.
Ding!
[First mission for the host. Please survive for 10 years and solve the heavenly calamity. Y\N.]
He was weirded even more now.
He did not know what exactly had happened.
Li Jiwen knew that this was something similar to the novels he used to write when he was young, when the system novel trope was very much known.
He said, "Ha, a system. That’s interesting and a mission as well. What is a heavenly calamity? Am I in cultivation world?"
He moved closer to the mirror and saw himself.
His hair was long and white, totally white.
His face was too pale.
Even if a person would see him and call him a dead man, a literal corpse.
He hummed and said, "Looks like the host that had this body before me was already dead when I came and took his body."
"Looks interesting. But there is no memory, nothing to tell me what exactly this man is. Probably I need to accept the mission beforehand, and then the memory would come."
He moved his hand and clicked on yes on the window in front of him.
Then finally the system changed.
Ding!
[The host has accepted the first mission.]
[Please note that if the host fails and dies at any point in the first mission, they will come back to this moment in an unlimited way.]
[This will be their own test, the very first mission of the system.]
[If the host surpasses that and finishes the mission successfully, the system will rate it and accordingly give a score.]
[The system has more functions that will unlock with different points and different gradings of sub-missions.]
[The very first two are:]
[The ancient transcription manual!]
[The time rewind!]
[The transcription manual is your phone that you used to write on, and it has all your novels. You can choose only three things from any novel at any given time to be at your hand and in your grasp.]
[You can use them at your will, but they will only reset after you die. When you come back again, you will not be able to use them as they will be locked, until the very first mission is finished. Does the host understand?]
Li Jiwen did not know what to say to the system.
His face was stone cold.
Then finally he said aloud.
"What? You mean 10 years in a time loop? Will this mean that I am immortal within the time loop as well? I can’t die? Just how many times do I die? Hell, this is like a hell of some sort."
Finally, the system answered.
[Well, host, this is up to you now. I won’t have anything at my hand to actually see to you now. Goodbye.]
Finally, different windows appeared in front of him, and a phone appeared in his hand.
His phone?!
His eyes went wide, and he was fearful now.
This was a world of cultivation, and as a writer, he knew exactly that worlds of cultivation had people who would kill him in an instant.
Now, as a person who had never died before, he was fearful.
He tried to make himself quite stoic, but he failed in the very end.
He fell down to the ground, his face even more pale than before and too devoid of life.
He said pained, "Oh no, I want to go to my world. I wanted to make a living out of writing, not just a hobby. For goodness’ sake, I didn’t even have a chance. I was just in the last year of college. My life was just getting back together..."
Suddenly, as he was breaking down, the door opened.
Three people in city guard attire appeared and said loudly, "We are here under the decree of the city lord. Scribe, Li Jiwen. You are under arrest for treason!"
Li Jiwen’s meltdown stopped and a couple of words escaped his mouth, "HUH? TREASON!?"
