The days leading to Christmas went by in a flash, no small thanks to Abby and I having plenty of things keeping us busy until then, although, to be frank, Abby was making an obvious effort to make things as easy for me as possible. In fact, the whole family seemed to be. Maybe it was a result of me “being the adult” a lot of the times in the past few months, or maybe it was simply because I was the one most busy with preparing Christmas last year. I wouldn’t have minded not getting as much help and being told to take it easy, but still, it was very much appreciated.
Presently, that led to us girls —me, Abby, Sophie, Claire and Mathilda—being together in our room at my Dad’s place. Abby and I sat on the bed since we had put on our kimonos again—since our Dads hadn’t seen us in them aside from a picture, and neither did Mathilda, and Claire was very insistent we did—and sitting anywhere else wouldn’t be all that practical. Mathilda sat on our desk chair, and the other two sat together on two pillows on the carpet, Oliver on Sophie’s lap, and Claire intimately leaning on her, their faces practically touching.
“Seriously,” Claire said with another annoying smile of hers. “Violet looks way too good in a kimono.”
And of course, the conversation found its way back to being about me. The fact that Abby did my hair to match my outfit probably didn’t help either.
“Don’t we have anything else more interesting to talk about?” I asked as my face warmed up.
“But it does!” Claire insisted. “Only thing missing is you holding one of those cups or smoking pipe.”
I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by music starting to play… traditional Japanese music. And it was coming from Abby’s phone, my wife having a devilish smile on her face as she looked at mine. Satisfied with my reaction, she stopped the music and fluffed herself against me, her big eyes pleading for me to not be mad. She knew well that I wouldn’t with her acting like that.
“You really should consider becoming a model,” Claire told me.
“Is that just your opinion, or is Josephine scared I’ll stop modelling for her?”
“Just my opinion,” Claire laughed before turning her face to look at Sophie, her nose bumping on Sophie’s cheekbone. “And yours too, right?”
“Well… If Violet decided that she’d want to do that, I think she wouldn’t lose anything by at least trying. She does seem to have a knack for it.”
“Right?”
I turned red and mumbled something incoherent even for me.
Do I really have a knack for that?
It sounded impossible, especially since I only had a few hours of that under my belt from two different session but… In a way, I had to admit that I seemed to have a “knack” for letting people dress me up however they want to. Abby has done that since very early in our relationship, and I do like to dress up too, if I’m to be perfectly honest. Besides, it’d be a good way to occasionally get some extra money for just a few hours of my time.
Maybe I could do that with Josephine…
And maybe even with people vetoed by her too. No skimpy outfits, no underwear, bikini, or lingerie shots, and definitively not having my face shown… With Abby tagging along at least the first few times, and never being alone with the other person if they were a man… Maybe something like that? Lots of requirements, but maybe I’d ask Josephine about it next time we talk about business.
“…If I’d ever do that, it wouldn’t be as my main source of income,” I told them, wishing that my firm voice marked the end of that conversation.
“And speaking of modelling, could you perhaps let Sophie try on your kimono?” Claire asked next, once again turning to face her friend. “I’m almost literally dying to see her wearing one.”
“No! Nuh-uh! I’m not wearing it!” Sophie firmly told her, pulling away from Claire.
“Why not!?”
“Why? Because it was made for Violet’s measurements!”
“So?”
“So!? So… erm… you know…”
“Because she fears it won’t fit her around the chest,” I said, immediately getting what Sophie meant but didn’t want to say in case it hurt my feelings. It really didn’t as, for me, she—and now I—was just stating a fact. Besides, having a B-cup was as big of a chest as I ever had wanted to have, or at the very most, a C like Abby, so not having whatever Sophie’s cup size is, wasn’t a source of insecurity or jealousy. “That, and that it might end up showing cleavage.”
“Nonsense! It will look great!” Claire declared and already showing the start of throwing a fit.
Sophie didn’t seem willing to put up with that fit, and as comfortable as the kimono was, it wasn’t all that practical to be in around the house, so I didn’t mind getting changed either, so we both relented. I grabbed some clothes and went to change in the bathroom with Abby tagging along to help out. Technically, that wasn’t necessary, but I had done some adjustments to the underlayers to make sure there were no panty lines shown, so I’d be showing more than what they should and was only meant for Abby’s eyes.
“What do you think Claire’s true plan is?” Abby asked me while working on my sash.
“Hmm… dragging your sister in front of my Dad?”
“She really likes playing with fire, doesn’t she?” Abby laughed.
With Abby’s help, the kimono came out in a flash, and while I was slightly bent over while pulling up some pyjama pants, I felt her finger tracing the contour of my rear, snag the elastic band of my underwear, and snaping it free. I told her to behave, my face warming up immediately. She let out one of her delightful giggles before saying something that made me feel even warmer.
“For now, that is?”
I looked behind me, and she had a mischievous face even more delightful than her previous giggle.
“Yeah… for now,” I told her, the bathroom feeling a lot smaller than it already was.
I hurried putting my clothes on before Abby could further mess with me and we went back to the bedroom where Sophie was already stripped to her underwear. She was pushing Claire away while Claire was all over her, fawning over the fact that Sophie was wearing the baby-blue lacy boyshorts she had given her last Christmas. Mathilda was laughing uncontrollably and trying to tell her sister to settle down but her words came chocked by her laugher.
Us returning didn’t make things settle down though, as Claire looked at us, back to Sophie, and back to us before asking if we wore any underwear under them.
“Of course they do!” Claire barked right into Claire’s ear, her friend casually plugging that ear without losing her smile. “They aren’t you, you know?”
“But I’m sure you’re not supposed to—”
“As if!” Sophie barked again. “Of course people wear some form of underwear under it, you idiot!”
“Haah, fine,” Claire sighed, sounding not that disappointed. “And here I was thinking I’d get to see some nice bare boobs before the end of the day.”
I felt Abby’s eyes fall on me. It took me a bit to understand why that was: she was seeing if I still started giggling when hearing that word, “boobs”. I clearly wasn’t.
“Not happening today, you little imp,” I told Abby as I poked her nose, making her giggle.
Sophie’s fears were a bit warranted in terms of the fit. It did get a bit tight around her chest, but it was still very appropriate. Sophie didn’t think the same once she saw her reflection, claiming it was showing too much cleavage. Claire told her not to be silly as it was only something like the width of three fingers that she had showing, something the rest of us agreed with for once, causing Sophie to ease up a little. It really was like Claire was saying, the bit of cleavage that was showing was still in very good taste as it was just a bit of the top.
Next up, Claire asked Abby to style Sophie’s hair like she had styled mine, something Abby gladly took care of while Claire did Sophie’s make-up. It felt nice, you know? That, for once, I got to be the person watching and not the doll.
“Do you think Stephen would like seeing me in one too?” Mathilda asked while she too watched.
“Oh yeah, he’d love to,” I told her. “Just… maybe not one that is just pink?”
“Like… like the one Abby is wearing, but cherry-blossom pink and with the flowers being blue and yellow?”
Perhaps a bitt too pink still, but the flowers she mentioned added some variety, so I gave her my approval.
Happy with my feedback, she pulled out her phone, and we looked up for kimono’s together while the others got ready.
“There!” Claire clapped. “You look just like a princess!”
Sophie really did, but before I could get a good look and anyone could react, she got Sophie up on her feet and dragged her out of the room, saying that they absolutely had to show Sophie to the men, Sophie crying out that she knew this was where this was headed from the start.
“Haah, hood grief.”
“Sorry, things always get super noisy with my sister around, don’t they?”
“It’s fine,” I told Marhilda. “It’s noisy, but it’s also kinda fun too.”
“Just kinda fun?” Abby asked, standing in front of me and offering her hand for me to take with a smile.
“…Fine. Things are fun with her around,” I mumbled as I got up and held Abby’s hand.
Abby commented how the best Violet is the honest Violet as she walked in front of me. I didn’t say anything back to her because I was distracted by her silhouette as she walked with her back turned to me and pulled me along. Just a few minutes ago I had told her to behave, and here I am, looking at her derriere and wishing Mathilda wasn’t with us so that I could give it a playful pinch or tap.
“No, really, you look great,” I heard my Dad say, snapping me back to reality.
My Dad looked… a bit lost. Like, he meant it when he said that she looked great, but that those words didn’t do her justice and he didn’t know others that’d work. He also looked like he didn’t know how to act as he was a bit flustered and flushed, almost as much as Sophie. Kinda sweet to see, the two of them, I mean, were it not that it still felt a bit weird to me.
William also looked a bit lost, but it was more like he felt like he was one person too many in the room but didn’t really have a valid excuse to leave. Not that it should be much of a worry as those two seemed to be a bit lost in a world of their own.
The first person to talk and who broke the spell was Paul, announcing that it was getting late, so he, Claire and Mathilda should be on their way.
“Ah! Steph texted me a bit ago saying he fixed Luigi, so we are going on a little date before he takes me home.”
“Luigi?”
“Their scooter,” Claire laughed as she reached out to Sophie to give her a farewell kiss. “I’ll tell you about it on our way home. And you Sophie, sweet dreams, ok? I’ll call you tomorrow.”
While everyone was more focused on Claire and Paul, I looked at my Dad. He looked a bit dazed and as if he was putting back together a difficult puzzle. Claire’s surprise attack of a dolled up Sophie proved way more effective than what she might have intended to.
Next, I looked at Sophie. She was tapping her red face, as is trying to call herself up while stealing glances at my Dad. Then, their eyes met for a brief second and they looked as far away as possible of each other.
They are like two little kids.
Not that I could really talk. Or expect anything different, really. One was experiencing their first love, and the other was receiving the affection of someone after more than ten years of being alone.
“So, Stephen finally managed to get the carburettor working, huh?”
“Yeah. If I understood it correctly, he had to tune it up to the cold by switching a piece that is a small copper disk with a tiny hole in the middle. I don’t really get it even though he made it sound simple, but it looks like there’s a correct hole size, so he had to trial and error until he could get the motor to start and run without issues.”
“Sorry to interrupt, but could you help me change?” Sophie asked. “Dad likely wants to go home too soon enough.”
I was a bit conflicted about joining them and go check on my Dad, but that was put at ease once I saw William place a hand over my Dad’s shoulder and asking him if he was ok. My Dad thanked and apologised to him as he told him that he was ok, just a bit shook. William said nothing, he just gave my Dad a brief smile and tapped his shoulder. Maybe that was his way of telling my Dad not to worry too much about it?
Whatever the case, my Dad looked a bit more at ease after that. He did notice my staring, so he smiled at me and asked what was up.
“Just wandering what had you looking so serious all of a sudden,” I admitted, deciding to join them instead of the others.
“Ah, just your old man being dumb,” he told me with his usual easy-going dismissiveness that I now wondered how many times had it been a façade to protect me in the past. “What about you, sweety? How was this last Christmas as a high schooler?”
“…Enjoyable, I’d say,” I told him. “Somehow noisier than last year, but also funnier.”
“That’s good to hear, especially after Abby had asked us to try and help out a bit more so you could take it easier this year and enjoy yourself a bit more.”
“We weren’t supposed to tell her that,” Willam told him.
“Violet isn’t dumb, she clearly saw right through us, so it’s not like it was that much of a secret, right?”
“Right, you guys were quite obvious… still, I feel like I should—”
“No, you don’t,” my Dad interrupted. “You already do a lot for all of us everyday, so let us do a bit more for you this time, ok? Like Abby told you before, let others take care of you too.”
That stroke a cord in me and reminded me of the couple of arguments Abby and I had about it. It wasn’t easy for me, but it’s like Dad said, I should just let this one go.
“…Right… ok. Thank you. Both of you.”
My Dad laughed at how stilted I had just sounded. I was arguing back that I didn’t really know how to act in situations like this when the door to my bedroom clicked open and Sophie stepped out, back in her jeans and woollen sweater, still cleaning up her face from the make-up with a baby wipe. Abby was right behind her, still in her kimono, followed by Mathilda who was carrying Oliver around.
Once Sophie got up to me, she turned to the living room and told her Dad that they could go home whenever he felt like it.
Both men got up and came closer to us. My Dad looked at Sophie for a second before speaking.
“You know, as good as you looked in that, I think I still prefer your usual self,” he told her with a casual honesty that had annoyed me so many times over the years. On Sophie, however, it had a very different effect.
“G-gee! Enough of that, Stan!” she stammered as she slapped his chest with the back of her hand. She was turning violently red and fighting off a smile that she wasn’t being able to hold back.
My Dad laughed but said nothing else as he handed her coat. Their goodbye was a bit awkward afterwards, but it was also brief. Mathilda was soon after, the three of us checking kimono’s while we waited for Stephen to arrive and pick her up. Dad went to bed, and so did we, Abby once again taking me by the hand and walking in front of me. Just like before, my eyes drifted to her butt, but this time, I felt her grip squeezing mine. Looking up, she was glancing over her shoulder, saying nothing, but her knowing smile spoke volumes. Not wanting to hold back, while we were at the door to our room, I finally gave her rear a playful pinch, Abby chirping a little squeak and a hop before giggling away and pulling me in. She was impatient to get in bed, literally vibrating with energy, settling herself in the middle of it as soon as the last layers were off.
Despite all that high energy, we hit a bit of a lull once I joined her, draped over her as her personal blanket and Abby koala-hugging me. There was something irresistible and special about simply being like that and in silence. Abby felt warm and soft under and around me, her scent filled my lungs, and her heartbeat in sync with mine against my chest. Words really fail to describe how unbelievably nice it felt to be like that, in that… that “oneness of being” so characteristic of our relationship.
“How was your last Christmas as a high schooler?” Abby whispered, her voice dreamy and her arms and legs giving me a little squeeze.
“Pfft, fufu! Thanks to a little someone, way more relaxing and enjoyable than I had thought it would be.”
“That so, huh?” she giggled back.
“Yeah,” I told her, moving my head so our faces were pressed together, our eyes locked and lips brushing. “Exactly so.”
We shared a long, sweet kiss before cuddling back.
“Just five more minutes like this,” I whispered in her ear.
“Pfft, hehe! That’s my line!”
