"Well..." he tried to reply with fake guilt. "I think it’s better if we don’t talk about that, Rosalind. You heard what Elric said; Margery went to Pradiles alone. I can already imagine what she was thinking when she followed that man’s order... Though she should be fine, I still want to see with my own eyes what’s happening. I also hope you can support Elara; Caelia will eat her alive, although maybe that’s exactly what she needs..."

Then he fixed his eyes on her for a moment, more serious.

"You should start practicing, Rosalind... You can’t keep avoiding getting stronger."

She lowered her shoulders slightly, affected by those words; she hadn’t expected him to bring up that topic now.

"You know I don’t like fighting or any of that stuff, Cassian."

"But even if you can stay young with pills, your life will be much shorter if you don’t do it," he replied. "I can accept that you don’t want to live long—I’ve already had to deal with that many times—but I would really like you to reconsider."

Rosalind bit her lip, distressed.

"I understand. I’ll think about it, I promise. Does it worry you that much that I won’t be in the future?" A mocking smile appeared on her face as she said it.

"I don’t know..." His unexpected answer raised her eyebrows in surprise, though he quickly backtracked. "But I do feel like I’d prefer you to be."

"Of course you do. You should stop thinking that nothing matters to you or that you don’t feel anything; even someone who has lived for millions of years can feel."

Cassian preferred not to answer this time. She rolled her eyes.

"You don’t seem to mind it when you’re fucking me, though," crossing her arms with a bitter scowl.

"Mmm, I’ll definitely miss your two little pink nipples."

Rosalind shook her head and started walking away.

"Remember what I asked you, Rosalind. And take care of Bethany too; I don’t think she’s happy knowing I’m leaving for a while."

But the figure didn’t stop, and he could only watch her leave, letting out an exhausted sigh.

«I don’t know? I know it very well...» His eyes darkened, hiding something so deep inside that not even he allowed himself to see it; not because he didn’t want to, but because it was necessary.

Millions of light years away.

Siyin was there with a tired appearance, her chest rising and falling along with her agitated breathing, and an expression that was beginning to show signs of surrender.

She looked around, letting out a defeated sigh when she saw no one was there, and dropped to the ground.

Where can that damn fox be? Making me waste time like this... Does she even know everything I have to attend to now that I’m managing the sect?

If I neglect all the master’s hard work because of this, she’ll pay for it dearly—more than she already will for that "little joke" of hers.

Or at least that’s how she felt, but the truth might have been different...

Not far from there, Jinghua was swinging her tail, looking at her older sister with amusement.

"You give up so easily, sister," she murmured, while a devilish laugh of pure happiness escaped her lips.

She couldn’t contain herself and threw herself on the ground, holding her belly and laughing like a maniac.

Once she finally calmed down and stood up, she gasped as her head bumped into two soft, pillow-like buns.

She frowned, looked up, and her expression froze completely: Siyin, with a serious expression completely devoid of amusement, was looking at her as if she were seeing an idiot.

"Did you really think you could laugh like that and I wouldn’t notice? I gave you a lot of head start, Jinghua, but you went too far..."

The long pink-haired fox swallowed hard, moved her head ready to flee, but was grabbed by her tail by her older sister, unable to escape. "Forgive me, sister! It was just a little joke! I won’t do it again, I swear!"

Siyin shook her head, a crooked smile gaining more ground on her face, sending shivers through the body of the trapped fox.

"Sisters!" The sound of Liwei and Luowei, who had just returned, echoed throughout the sect.

Jinghua’s eyes widened, beginning to shine as she realized she might get out of this.

Yuning came out of her room to receive them and began observing them attentively, waiting for them to tell her how everything went so she could prepare in case they had caused more trouble again.

On the other hand, Yifei, who had been handling Siyin’s affairs—as punishment from her—came out upon hearing the shout, happy to have an excuse to get away from those terrifying writings or topics.

Liwei proudly wore her black armor.

She put an arm around her sister’s shoulders and said happily, "We did a complete trash cleanup~"

Lanying, along with Ruolan, also came to receive them. The former showed an expression of worry and helplessness upon hearing those words; while the latter immediately exclaimed with enthusiasm:

"That’s great that you’re back, so we can all be together again!" But she stopped for a moment. "Well, if Xingyue was here, or..." though she didn’t finish that last part.

Luowei frowned. "Where is Xingyue?" she asked, while looking around and extending her spiritual sense, hoping to find her somewhere in the sect.

Siyin, dragging Jinghua, appeared then.

"She went to look for Master," she stated.

"Huh?" Liwei responded with disbelief.

She removed her arm from Luowei’s shoulders and her eyes narrowed.

But when she saw from her sisters’ faces that it was true, she grabbed Luowei’s hand tightly and started pulling her, saying, "Let’s go! Let’s go see him!"

"Liwei!" Siyin’s angry call stopped her.

She turned around, giving her an angry look that clearly said she wasn’t going to change her mind.

"Siyin, you may feel that him being away from everything, even from us, is for the best, and that us wanting to go see him is selfish. But not all of us think the same, nor do we have to worry about other things if we leave. Let’s go, Luowei, let’s go see Master!"

But a barrier appeared, stopping her.

Liwei’s fist clenched tightly. She turned around again and shouted:

"SIYIN!"

But it hadn’t been her who stopped them this time.

Yuning looked at them with displeasure. "You just got back and you already want to leave? Although I understand your reason... I think it would be better if we all calm down and talk about this more quietly. There’s no need to rush off the moment you return."

Liwei’s shoulders showed signs of acceptance.

Her gaze scanned her sisters, who looked at her with a mix of concern, understanding, and longing.

Her shoulders dropped completely, and her gaze lowered as well.

"Sorry..."
