Chapter 543 - 542: Leta Vs KeithChapter 543: Chapter 542: Leta Vs Keith
"Devil!"
" Devil!"
Keith heard the loud chants as he walked into the arena.
Only this time, it was far larger than any he had seen before, and it seemed sturdier. The crowd was also much larger in number.
Apart from the top private room reserved for the Arena Masters, he could see many other private rooms surrounding the arena.
Holding his scythe, Keith felt his heartbeat accelerate—not in fear, but in excitement.
Soon, his opponent came out.
The wall fell to the ground as the man slowly walked out.
Keith raised an eyebrow.
Before he left, he had noticed this man standing behind Pula.
And now, he was his first opponent.
"Today marks the battle of one of the anticipated rising gladiators, The Devil! A gladiator with an undefeated streak, with every one of his opponents dead. No survivors. A devil in the truest sense!"
"And his opponent, a veteran gladiator with over one hundred and fifty battles..."
"He is the one and only..."
"Leta!"
The announcer shouted as the crowd erupted into cheers.
Hearing this, Keith grinned.
"Leta..."
His eyes turned cold as a crimson aura fluctuated around him.
Leta enjoyed the cheers as he observed Keith.
Just a few days ago, keith had sparred with Pula and had been easily defeated.
And he was a little stronger than Pula.
This fight would be a breeze.
"Hey, kid."
"Your run is impressive..." Leta said, hinting at the fact that Keith’s opponents always died.
"But do you think that now, at Level One, you can actually kill me?"
"Kid... can you even defeat me?" Leta asked as he drew his weapon.
A curved sword, about one and a half meters long, appeared in his hand as his entire aura changed.
Keith felt as though he were facing a beast.
"Won’t know if you don’t try," Keith replied, narrowing his eyes.
Inside him, his heart pounded wildly as he felt awakened.
His eyes glowed crimson as, this time, the crimson aura covered his entire body.
"Without further ado..."
"Let the match... begin!"
The announcer shouted.
The instant he did, the two moved as the scythe and the curved sword clashed.
Bam!
A shockwave spread across the arena as both of them were pushed back ten steps.
Leta raised an eyebrow.
"This kid is strong," Leta thought as his expression changed.
At first, he had wanted to overwhelm Keith with pure strength.
But now, it seemed he would have to use another method.
The two planted their feet before springing forward like compressed springs as they clashed again.
Only this time, Leta didn’t meet the attack head-on.
He used his curved sword to drag Keith’s scythe forward while stepping across the one-meter gap between them before raising his palm.
Boom!
Keith couldn’t react before his chest was struck.
A lump rose in his throat as he was blasted backward several meters, coughing up blood.
Seeing that it had worked, Leta’s eyes flashed with a cold glint.
What Pula had done was correct.
This kid might have the power...
But he lacked the experience and skill required to fight someone as strong as him.
This was his weakness.
And it would be his downfall.
Leta pressed forward as Keith climbed back to his feet.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
They clashed multiple times as Leta used his superior skill to gain the advantage, pushing Keith back again and again.
Then, seeing an opening, Leta moved like a shadow and appeared behind Keith.
"Got you."
Only at that moment did Keith mutter with a grin.
He spun his scythe, tangling it with Leta’s sword before dragging him closer like a doll.
"You know..."
"Jumping around is annoying."
"Come fight me like a man."
Despite the difference in height, Keith’s fist still connected with Leta’s jaw.
A devastating punch landed.
The instant it did, Leta was stunned for a brief moment.
Keith immediately took advantage of it, landing several blows in succession before finishing with a kick aimed at Leta’s neck.
Only then did Leta recover.
He raised his palm to block the kick.
But the force behind it was still tremendous, pushing him back several meters.
"Damn you!"
Regaining his senses, Leta gritted his teeth and charged forward once more, his curved sword gleaming.
Keith smiled as he tightened his grip on his scythe.
Ding!!!
The sound of metal colliding rang through the arena as Leta followed up with a swift kick.
Keith dodged to the left.
But the moment he did, a sense of danger surged through him.
He hurriedly moved backward.
Too late.
The flat side of Leta’s sword slammed into his face.
Keith was blasted over fifteen meters away.
The moment he landed, he didn’t pause.
He transferred part of the impact into his legs, using it to propel himself back toward Leta.
With his scythe, he swung downward, aiming straight for Leta’s head.
Seeing this, Leta raised his curved sword above his head and blocked.
Then, with a twist of his wrist, the head of the scythe slid along the blade toward the handle of Leta’s sword.
The tip suddenly shot toward Keith.
Keith reacted quickly, immediately letting go of his scythe.
Dodging the attack, Keith watched as the handle of his scythe dropped to the ground.
The moment he landed, he kicked the handle with his foot, causing the scythe to stand upright as the end of the handle slammed right between Leta’s legs.
"AAAH!!"
An agonizing scream echoed through the arena as every male watching the battle instinctively clamped their legs together, cold sweat breaking out across their faces.
Seeing the opening, Keith didn’t hesitate.
He dashed forward, grabbed his scythe, and swung it, the curved blade arcing toward Leta’s back.
Although he was in unbearable pain, Leta still gritted his teeth. He grabbed the hilt of his curved sword and performed a skill that left Keith shocked.
Keith suddenly felt his body being dragged forward, interrupting his attack.
The next instant...
Leta’s curved sword was already only a few inches away from the center of Keith’s forehead.
Silence.
The two froze.
Keith’s scythe was only inches away from piercing Leta’s spine, while Leta’s curved sword hovered just inches from Keith’s forehead.
Cold sweat dripped from both of their faces.
Only...
Keith wore a teasing smile, while Leta struggled to endure the excruciating pain coming from his lower body.
"At this rate... I might add your skull to my collection," Keith teased.
Leta’s eyes widened.
He immediately pushed his sword downward, but Keith reacted just as quickly, using the long shaft of his scythe to slam into the side of Leta’s body, causing the curved sword to miss its mark.
Leta clicked his tongue in irritation.
This kid had only been promoted a few days ago.
Not to mention, Pula had easily overpowered him during their spar.
So why...
Why was he having so much trouble now?
Retreating a few steps, Leta frowned deeply.
This kid had been so weak only a few days ago.
It was impossible for him to become this strong in such a short period of time.
Not to mention his sharper movements and far deadlier killing techniques.
It was impossible for someone to grow this much within just a few days...
Right?
Then what was it?
Just as Leta was lost in thought, he caught a glimpse of the strange crimson aura surrounding Keith.
His eyes widened.
"That’s it..." Leta muttered in shock.
"This kid... has an ability?"
