Achieving Demon Godhood from Unlocking Talents

Chapter 317 - 33: Observation Method Breakthrough

BOOM!!

Lu Chao’s punch landed.

The front of the black car caved in and shattered as the entire vehicle was sent flying backward off the ground.

It looked like a broken kite, tumbling weightlessly through the air, kicking up a whistling blast of wind that sounded like a shrill screech.

"This..."

Witnessing this, the surrounding gang members stared with wide, horrified eyes. Passersby in the distance also watched with shocked disbelief, utterly stunned.

The black car had been sent flying far into the distance by a single punch, its shattered glass spraying in all directions.

Finally,

BANG! BANG! BANG!!

The black sedan landed five or six meters away, tumbling several times before crashing into a thick tree by the side of the square—one so wide it would take two people to wrap their arms around it—and finally came to a stop.

CRACK.

Fissures ran up the massive trunk, and the tree teetered on the verge of snapping and toppling over.

The black sedan itself was twisted completely out of shape. Its front and rear had been crushed inward by nearly half a meter, and its mangled hood had fallen off midway, hitting the ground with a harsh CLANG.

Gray smoke was visibly rising from the engine, a clear sign the car was completely totaled. The surrounding road was littered with shards of glass and scraps of metal.

"GULP..."

Their hearts trembling, the young thugs from the Copper Pattern Gang turned pale and swallowed hard.

The tattooed youth who had been trying to push a loan earlier was especially terrified. He held his breath, his pupils trembling as he stared intently at the sturdy back of the man in the gray sweatshirt, just a meter in front of him.

’He actually took a full-speed hit from a car! And even sent it flying several meters with one punch?’

’Just what kind of power is this?’

’And I... just moments ago, I was actually thinking of offering him a loan from our gang’s company?’

"GULP..."

He swallowed again, an inexplicable sense of terror and awe rising in his heart. The young man beside him, Brother Liang, was trembling so badly he couldn’t speak.

But before they could even snap out of it,

"Hmm?"

Lu Chao narrowed his eyes, looking toward the wrecked and mangled black sedan in the distance.

The metal body of the car had absorbed much of the force from his punch. Now, looking over, he saw the windshield was completely shattered. The two figures in the front seats were slumped in place, enveloped by airbags, their heads covered in blood. It was impossible to tell if they were alive or dead.

But in the back seat...

a figure shook his head and slowly sat up. The armored markings on his face flickered as he stared dazedly at Lu Chao.

"Super... Superpower Level?"

In a daze, the man seemed to be barely regaining his senses.

The next instant.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT!

He suddenly raised the black submachine gun in his hands and pulled the trigger.

Muzzle flashes erupted as bullets flew.

Lu Chao walked forward step by step, weathering the continuous barrage.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!!

The bullets struck him as if hitting solid steel, producing a series of crisp ringing sounds.

Dozens of shiny brass bullets warped and deformed before sliding off his chest and clattering to the ground.

This scene shattered the perceptions of every onlooker, from the office workers in the surrounding high-rises to the ordinary couples and tattooed thugs at the back of the square.

Before their dumbfounded eyes,

Lu Chao had already reached the smoldering black sedan.

The Rebel sitting in the back seat was an Armored Transformer. His black clothes were stained with blood, and his left arm hung limply, clearly broken.

Their eyes met.

He still held the submachine gun in his right hand, trying to pull the trigger.

Amidst the CLICK, CLICK, CLICK of an empty chamber, he seemed delirious, still trying to fight back.

Lu Chao remained silent and reached out.

His thick hand passed through the shattered car window and grabbed the man’s head.

THUD!!

The Armored Transformer, a member of the Rebels, shuddered as his head was slammed against the car door. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed onto the glass-strewn seat.

Only after confirming there was no longer a threat did Lu Chao slowly withdraw his arm.

THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!

A series of footsteps finally arrived as several black jeeps pulled up on both sides of the street.

Field teams and some Superpower Members from nearby quickly rushed to his side, surrounding him in their black combat uniforms and body armor, fully armed.

Some remained vigilant and cordoned off the scene, while others lowered their heads, their faces full of shame.

"Sorry, Group Leader."

"We failed in our duty."

an Elite Level youth said in a low voice, his face flushed red.

He had long, choppy hair and a lean build. Also from one of the smaller city-circles, he wore a captain-grade combat uniform. He was a new captain who had just reported in recently, named Yang Heng, currently serving as the third sub-team leader in Group Five.

"It’s fine."

Lu Chao waved his hand and looked at him.

"No one can guarantee everything goes smoothly. Accidents are sometimes just part of the job."

His gaze swept over the area, taking in the faces of all the new members. As if reminding the others on his earpiece as well, he said, "What we need to do is adapt to every situation as best we can."

"Turn today’s lesson into experience, so we can avoid potential losses in the next operation."

His calm tone held no blame, only encouragement.

The young captain named Yang Heng nodded emphatically, committing the words to memory.

Hearing this, Gao Hu, Chen Xiao, and the others on the comms breathed a sigh of relief and quickly began to handle their respective tasks.

For a moment, a low hum of activity filled the air.

Yellow police tape was used to block off the scene. Several Superpower Squads and field teams worked together seamlessly. Some were in charge of standing guard and directing the surrounding crowd.

Others were responsible for moving bodies, cleaning up evidence, and documenting the scene. In addition, several medics appeared to take the few wounded to a medical vehicle for treatment...

Everything proceeded in an orderly fashion. From a building across the street, a series of footsteps and sharp commands could be heard, as Gao Hu, Chen Xiao, and their team emerged, escorting several Rebel members downstairs, preparing to take them back to the Superpower Bureau for interrogation.
