Achieving Demon Godhood from Unlocking Talents
Chapter 323 35: Senior Alchemist, SuccessThe sounds of Martial Arts practice and sparring came from all directions. The third-floor training ground was as bustling as ever.
The vast hall had gray floors. Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, mixing with the incandescent lights inside and illuminating every corner.
Many figures were in the training area, holding round iron balls or striking training dummies. They used alloy weights of several hundred kilograms to temper their bodies, or they leaped and flashed between iron posts, practicing their Body Techniques and sending sprays of sweat flying.
Figures also occasionally emerged from the nearby gravity chamber, walking down the corridor on one side of the hall. Whenever they saw him, they would nod and greet him respectfully.
Before long, quiet voices from the rest area drifted over to him.
"I hear Team Three's Second Squad took some heavy losses. Lost a few more people."
"Yeah, I heard even Captain Jiang was seriously injured. Apparently, they were suddenly ambushed by the Iron Sand Army during a mission in the wilderness."
"Sigh, it was probably that Ma Biao getting revenge again..."
"Don't even get me started. I heard Leader Li was furious yesterday. Tsk, tsk. And get this, I heard he even wanted to blame Leader Lu for killing Ma Kui..."
Lu Chao paused, slightly surprised.
'That Captain Jiang, the one who once switched places with me, is in trouble?'
"I heard Captain Jiang failed his last attempt to break through to the Superpower Level, so he took on several high-risk wilderness missions. He wanted to gather more resources and try to initiate his life's transformation again."
"Unfortunately, he somehow exposed his position and was targeted by Ma Biao. He walked right into an ambush."
As Lu Chao pondered this, Sun Jiayuan stopped his training in the practice area. Wiping away his sweat with a towel, he walked over quickly and offered an explanation.
Lu Chao raised an eyebrow at his words, finally understanding the whole story.
TAP, TAP!
Before he could respond, footsteps approached from the corridor on the sideāthe direction of the gravity chamber.
Li Xiyuan, dressed in a loose, brown Martial Arts uniform, had just finished his training and was walking out. His expression was grim; he had clearly overheard the surrounding discussion.
When he saw Lu Chao standing there, he gave a stiff nod by way of a greeting.
Without offering any explanation, he instead deliberately kept his stern expression, strode past, and began scolding the few Superpower Members who had been talking.
"Got a lot of free time, do you?"
"You can't even keep your mouths shut while practicing your Fighting Skills. How about I assign you all a wilderness mission?!"
As his voice echoed, the Superpower Members from other teams within sight fell deathly silent. Their faces paled, and none of them dared to talk back.
Even the others who had been training paused, lowering their heads slightly and stopping their practice.
'Oh?'
Lu Chao narrowed his eyes.
He vaguely sensed the resentment and dissatisfaction reflecting in his heart. Li Xiyuan was clearly harboring some ill will toward him.
"My apologies for that display, Leader Lu."
A few breaths later, having seemingly vented his frustration, Li Xiyuan's expression softened as he turned back to look at him.
"I didn't expect these brats to not only enjoy cowering here like turtles in their shells, but also to constantly run their mouths."
Their eyes met, and the smile vanished from his face. "But don't you worry, Leader Lu. Team Three can handle this business with Ma Biao."
Only after saying his piece did he turn and walk away, a vein still throbbing on his temple.
Lu Chao watched him go.
The feeling of resentment was still reflecting in his heart. Lu Chao had heard the man's veiled insults; he was clearly redirecting his anger over what happened to Jiang Hua and the others onto him.
"Brother Lu, it looks like Leader Li has a lot of pent-up anger."
Sun Jiayuan had an awkward expression as he stood to the side, speaking sheepishly.
The way he addressed Lu Chao had quietly changed at some point. He could also tell the atmosphere had been tense and wanted to offer some comfort.
"It's nothing."
However, Lu Chao simply waved a hand dismissively and said no more.
His gaze swept over the room.
Many of the Superpower Members in the training area were exchanging uncertain glances after the incident, only now daring to resume their practice.
His expression unchanged, he told Sun Jiayuan to be extra careful on future missions, then turned and left as well.
'Getting angry wouldn't resolve any conflicts or problems. He believed only one thing: strength was the ultimate foundation for solving everything.'
