Achieving Demon Godhood from Unlocking Talents

Chapter 378 - 60: Insta-killing Everything

"Not bad."

Nodding in satisfaction, Lu Chao hadn’t expected this venture deep into the wilderness to yield such a reward.

He quickly pushed aside any distracting thoughts.

He scanned his surroundings, confirming that everything was resolved and there were no further complications.

Glancing up, Lu Chao looked toward the sword-like peak of Nanyun Mountain. Only then did he set off, following the route on the map from memory to begin his exploration.

...

「Half an hour later.」

RUSTLE...

The faint sound of footsteps could be heard.

Everything was going more smoothly than Lu Chao had imagined. Following the route on the map, he found a hidden door on a cliff face of Nanyun Mountain.

As he surveyed the area, he saw he was on a narrow, platform-like ledge halfway up the mountain. It was surrounded by jagged rocks, with sparse trees and undergrowth scattered about.

The moonlight was faint, but he relied on his enhanced dynamic vision to see what was in front of him.

The smooth cliff face looked natural, with vines clinging to its surface and loose rock fragments scattered nearby.

However, following the information about the ruin on his map, he walked over to a massive boulder to the side of the cliff face.

It was a full two meters wide, something an ordinary person would struggle to move.

Lu Chao moved the boulder aside with ease, quickly revealing a pressure switch it had been concealing.

Without hesitation, he warily pressed the switch.

One second, five seconds, ten seconds passed...

Nothing changed. Everything remained quiet and ordinary.

Lu Chao frowned slightly. ’Is the switch to the hidden passage broken?’

CLICK!

However, in the next instant, a faint noise sounded out. He clearly felt the ground beneath his feet and the cliff wall in front of him begin to tremble.

A moment later, the cliff face slowly ground upward, revealing a heavy stone door that opened onto a dark, two-meter-high and two-meter-wide passageway.

Lu Chao’s gaze hardened as he extended his Life Sensing.

He detected nothing unusual, only a wave of cold, musty air that rushed out to meet him.

After a moment of thought, he recalled that he could still activate his [Titan’s Power]. He had only spent a minute in the previous fight, so his body’s energy reserves were still full.

With that in mind, Lu Chao stepped inside.

CLOMP!

CLOMP!!

The ground underfoot was remarkably hard, as if paved with a thick steel plate.

Behind him, the heavy stone door slowly slid shut.

His vision was plunged into deep darkness. Lu Chao’s expression remained calm as he switched on the small searchlight he was holding.

It was a piece of loot he had picked up from one of the warlord’s soldiers, perfect for surveying his new environment.

Dark brown rock walls stretched out ahead, forming the ceiling and sides of the passage. Their surfaces were somewhat smooth, clearly polished by human hands.

According to the map, this was just one of the ruin’s secret passages, not the main entrance.

Gradually, as he ventured deeper, Lu Chao picked up his pace.

The path began to slope downward, and he felt his center of gravity shift as he descended.

He soon passed through the narrow passage, and a rust-spotted iron door blocked his path.

He quietly extended his Life Sensing again, but for the moment, detected no danger.

After a moment’s thought, he pulled the iron door open and looked inside.

A sudden flash of light made him squint instinctively.

As his eyes adjusted, he looked around.

It was a command and control room, several dozen square meters in area.

The floor and walls were paneled with rust-covered silver metal. On the ceiling, several incandescent light tubes flickered erratically.

CRACKLING sparks from exposed wiring flickered in the corners, and the green emergency lighting strips along the walls went dark.

Several pieces of equipment sat in the room, thick with dust. Their black screens were shattered, and a few protective suits and yellowed documents were scattered across the floor.

Seeing this, Lu Chao’s expression grew grim.

Seeking answers, he picked up some of the scattered documents and looked at the pictures inside.

A puff of dust flew up, and he waved it away.

His eyes fell upon images of human test subjects covered in pustules and twisted, mutated blood vessels, as well as ferocious Mutant Beasts impaled with numerous cables.

What’s more, he noticed that the text didn’t belong to the Alliance Country; it looked like the language of the old-world Mira Country.

Using the translation function on his wrist device, he was able to read a striking headline.

"The Mystery of Life’s Evolution, the Secret Weapon to End the War!"
