After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects

Chapter 70: Destroying an Arrogant Immortal’s Sect

Hearing that someone wanted to intervene to help his defeated enemy, Wu Li’s face darkened.

"You dare get in the way of an Immortal Emperor?" Wu Li angrily said. "Don’t think just because you blocked my staff you are strong enough to enter a battle of such a scale!"

Ignoring the old man’s words, Jiang Yun repeated himself to Qiu Zheng, "Do you need my help or not?"

Not having much of an option with his and his wife’s lives on the line, Qiu Zheng replied, "I need your help."

Receiving confirmation to intervene, Jiang Yun quickly stepped in front of Wu Li, who was still yelling threats at Jiang Yun. Wu Li was surprised by the speed Jiang Yun showed and was caught off guard by Jiang Yun being in front of him.

Wu Li, wanting Jiang Yun to back away, tried to attack again, which resulted in his punch hitting Jiang Yun and causing no damage. Wu Li thought he had just punched a large mountain with how unmoving Jiang Yun was despite the force of the blow.

Jiang Yun, having given Wu Li the chance to make the first strike, decided to make his own attack while Wu Li was unable to defend. With a quick slap, Wu Li was sent flying with a large red handprint on his face as he fell to the ground.

"How dare you humiliate me like this!" Wu Li yelled while trying to recover from the blow. "I am the sect leader of the Immortal Weapon Sect and will take revenge for what you’ve done!"

Jiang Yun was annoyed from hearing the threat come out of the old man’s mouth, as it was the same old line. In his anger, Jiang Yun grabbed Wu Li, who was on the ground, and disappeared.

"Where did they go?" Gu Biyao asked, as she couldn’t keep up with the changing events.

"I don’t know," Qiu Zheng said, still suffering from his injuries. "We can only wait for Jiang Yun to come back and see."

Jiang Yun brought Wu Li to the Immortal Weapon Sect that he had used as a threat. This brought immense confusion upon Wu Li, as the distance was quite far away.

"How did you know where my sect was?" Wu Li said while still being dazed from the sudden change in environment. "Do you realize you are now on my territory and I can kill you at any time?"

Jiang Yun, wanting to teach Wu Li a lesson before his death, released Wu Li towards his sect.

"Call out your so-called sect then," Jiang Yun said with full confidence. "I want to experience the full power of the so-called backing you have."

Being humiliated even further, Wu Li couldn’t take it anymore and immediately went to call for help from his sect.

It didn’t take long on Jiang Yun’s side before a large group of Immortals came back with Wu Li to support their sect leader.

Among them was an early-stage Immortal Emperor as well as dozens of Immortal Kings. This could be considered quite a force in the Immortal Realm.

"This is your last chance!" Wu Li yelled with newfound confidence. "If you don’t want to suffer a terrible fate, then cease all resistance immediately!"

Jiang Yun couldn’t be bothered with replying and just gestured with his hand for them to do their worst.

Provoked by Jiang Yun’s casual gesture, all the Immortals present couldn’t contain their anger at being belittled by one man. Not letting the insult stand, all the Immortals came forward to kill Jiang Yun for his disrespect.

Wu Li watched from the back, with so many high-level Immortals all attacking at once, there was no chance that Jiang Yun could beat all of them.

What followed completely overturned Wu Li’s understanding of the world, which he had built over a very long lifetime. Whoever got close to Jiang Yun was slapped into a bloody mist, unable to fight back.

Anyone who came close died gruesomely, while those in the back who were waiting for their turn watched as their comrades died. Any attack that landed on Jiang Yun simply had no effect.

After dozens of Immortals died, the remaining few ceased all attacks and began to fear Jiang Yun greatly. They all looked at Wu Li in anger for bringing such a catastrophe upon all of them.

Jiang Yun, noticing that the attackers had stopped, decided to take matters into his own hands and sent a giant fireball that instantly made all the Immortals feel threatened.

The Immortals, not wanting to be caught in the impending death that the fireball brought, quickly tried to escape the blast radius.

Unfortunately, all of them were stuck in place and unable to move. As the fireball got closer, all the Immortals who were about to die felt unwilling as they died for nothing on a random day like this trying to help their sect master.

Their thoughts were erased as all the Immortals Wu Li brought were burned to ash as they were engulfed by the fireball.

Wu Li, who had intentionally been left as the last one alive, felt extreme fear and sadness. Fear of Jiang Yun’s power as well as sadness at being the eternal sinner of the Immortal Weapon Sect.

This sect was handed down to him when his master died from attempting to break through to the legendary Dao Realm but suffered from inner demons and died. Under his master’s leadership, the sect grew to be a respectable sect in the Immortal World.

Now under his own leadership, Wu Li had brought an end to all the strong cultivators of his sect and permanently crippled the sect from future development. Wu Li now felt his son’s life simply wasn’t worth enough to cause so much trouble.

Unable to save his own sect, Wu Li now accepted his own fate. He now wanted to be punished for leading his sect to permanent decline.

Giving up all resistance, Wu Li dejectedly said, "Please kill me and forgive my sect. I am the one who you have an enmity with and should be the only one to suffer the consequences."

Not caring about Wu Li’s thoughts, Jiang Yun sent a giant essence hand toward the Immortal Weapon Sect, intending to permanently erase such a sect from existing in the future.

Wu Li could only watch as the hand smashed into his sect, killing everyone in his sect and leaving nothing behind. The sect he was so proud of was nothing more than a giant hole that was shaped like a handprint.

Wu Li immediately regretted everything, as he had done something irreversible. Consumed with guilt, Wu Li killed himself in despair, wanting to atone for his sins.

Jiang Yun watched from the side as Wu Li’s corpse fell down from the sky and slammed into the ground as a bloody mess.

Jiang Yun was satisfied with the result, as he had properly taught an arrogant Immortal a lesson he would never forget even in death.

Cleaning up the area, Jiang Yun threw several controlled fireballs at the corpses on the ground and went back to the Immortal Mountain Sect.

Reappearing at the front gate of the Immortal Mountain Sect, not much time had passed, and Gu Biyao had only just finished treating Qiu Zheng’s injuries.

Surprised by Jiang Yun’s sudden appearance, Gu Biyao asked, "Where did you go, and where is Wu Li?"

"He killed himself," Jiang Yun replied as if it wasn’t worth his attention. "His sect has also been destroyed, so you don’t have to worry about retaliation in the future."

This shocked both Gu Biyao and Qiu Zheng, as this speed was simply too fast. It had only been a few minutes since Jiang Yun left, and now everything was already over, as if it were just a side task for Jiang Yun.

"Amazing," Qiu Zheng said in amazement. "I knew you were strong, but not this overwhelmingly strong."

"Do you actually believe that Jiang Yun did what he said?" Gu Biyao asked, as she turned her head to Qiu Zheng. "Isn’t everything he said a little too absurd?"

"I fully trust him," Qiu Zheng said with complete confidence. "I know Jiang Yun isn’t one to lie, and as you could see before in his fight against Wu Li, he is more than strong enough to back what he says."

Gu Biyao was still skeptical of the situation but ultimately decided to believe her husband. There was nothing wrong with what he had just said, and there really was no point in Jiang Yun lying about the situation.

Jiang Yun took out a bottle of pills from his ring and tossed it to Qiu Zheng, who was still injured.

"What’s this?" Qiu Zheng asked, looking at the bottle in his hand.

"This is a bottle of healing pills which should heal all of your injuries almost immediately," Jiang Yun replied as if it were normal to have such treasures. "This is far stronger than what you should have currently."

"Thank you," Qiu Zheng said as he began taking the pills in the bottle. "It's my fortune to have a friend like you."

Seeing Qiu Zheng was now fine, Jiang Yun decided to go back to his previous task.

"Are you ready to go?" Jiang Yun asked impatiently. "We have stayed here a little too long."

Gu Biyao looked at Qiu Zheng, still worried about her husband’s injuries. Her worries were soon proven unfounded, as the wounds had healed from taking the pills Jiang Yun gave.

Now with his injuries healed, Qiu Zheng told his wife, "Go ahead and go now. I am completely fine now, and there is no need to worry."

"I’m ready," Gu Biyao said, now reassured by her husband’s words. "Let’s go back to your sect so I can see my daughter."

Now with Gu Biyao’s confirmation, Jiang Yun started to levitate off the ground, with Gu Biyao following close behind.

As the two were about to leave, Qiu Zheng waved them goodbye, as the two were probably not going to be back for a while.

Following Qiu Zheng’s farewell, Jiang Yun took Gu Biyao to the Invincible Cloud Sect.
