After Crossdressing and Provoking Long AoTian

Chapter 100: Four-Square Ram King (Supplement)

Ye Chenyan slowly turned his head. “I dare. But you...”

He arched a brow. “You aren’t afraid, are you?”

The old Fox King ignored the provocation. His fox eyes curved into smiling crescents.

“Good. What are you waiting for? Get going.”

“Show him what you can do.”

The Four-Square Ram King seemed puzzled. A trace of confusion appeared on his face.

“Didn’t you come to rescue him?”

“Hmm? Me?” The old Fox King widened his eyes and pointed at himself. “Do I look that kindhearted?”

“You have always had too much time on your hands.” The Four-Square Ram King still had not released the Young Dragon King. “And you were close to the old Dragon King.”

“Haha.” The old Fox King’s eyes curved with amusement. “I’m close to everyone.”

He looked immensely pleased with himself.

“Especially powerful people. A clever fox like me always makes sure to stay on good terms with them.”

The Four-Square Ram King slowly shook his head.

“Not with me.”

“Oh?” The old Fox King raised his brows in surprise. “That sounded rather sour. Don’t tell me you wanted to be friends with me?”

“My, my. You were once a fairly powerful Demon King on Great Wilderness Mountain, but ever since your battle with the Mountain-Shaking Ape King, when he broke off one of your horns, your strength has been severely diminished. You no longer qualify as one of the powerful ones.”

He narrowed his eyes.

“You must still resent him. Unfortunately, he is dead.”

The Four-Square Ram King’s expression shifted slightly.

“He is dead, but his mountain-ape clan has no shortage of descendants. Killing every last one of them will still count as revenge.”

“Oh dear.” The old Fox King gently shook his head. “You have such an honest-looking face, yet such a murderous heart. No wonder the old ape fell for your deception back then.”

The Four-Square Ram King stared at him.

“What exactly did you come here for? To reminisce about ancient history?”

“You already said I have too much time on my hands.” The old Fox King chuckled. “Naturally, I came to watch the excitement.”

He stepped slightly backward and lowered his voice, encouraging Ye Chenyan.

“His cultivation was damaged. Under normal circumstances, he only possesses the strength of a peak Out-of-Body cultivator.”

“You are already at mid Nascent Soul, and you possess divine abilities from both the immortal and demonic paths. Among all Nascent Soul cultivators, you would be hard-pressed to find an equal. I doubt any member of Great Wilderness Mountain’s younger generation could force you to use your full strength.”

“He is more than a full major realm above you. He can take a beating and give you a proper workout. Opportunities like this are rare. Without a truly satisfying battle, how will you ever advance further?”

Ye Chenyan thoughtfully studied the old Fox King’s unreadable face.

Half of what this man said was true and half was false. He never acted serious, making it impossible to tell whether he was merely stirring up trouble or genuinely considering what would benefit Ye Chenyan.

But Ye Chenyan was indeed tempted.

The Four-Square Ram King finally turned to look at him, seeming somewhat surprised.

“You are actually serious?”

“Don’t underestimate him.” The old Fox King smiled slyly. “This is the Pleasure Sect’s new Demonic Sovereign.”

A strange light flashed through the Four-Square Ram King’s eyes.

“You are younger than I imagined. And weaker.”

He released the Young Dragon King and tossed him aside.

“If you wish to fight, I will oblige. But I cannot promise to spare your life.”

The demonic weapon in Ye Chenyan’s hand trembled softly.

He had not encountered a single worthy opponent since obtaining the silver battle spear. Sensing his fighting spirit, the demonic weapon grew excited as well.

Ye Chenyan took a deep breath and looked back at Yu Qingtang.

Yu Qingtang was as terrified as ever on the inside, but he still had to encourage him outwardly. Trembling, he raised both hands and gave him two thumbs-up.

Sure, challenging opponents above one’s cultivation level was a standard skill in every Long Aotian’s arsenal, but fighting someone at the Out-of-Body stage already—wasn’t that a little too ridiculous?

His master was still only at half-step Out-of-Body!

Ye Chenyan chuckled. When he turned around again, his fighting spirit erupted.

“Demon King of Great Wilderness Mountain, let me see whether your reputation is deserved!”

The two met head-on and exchanged a single blow in the center of the clearing.

The trees throughout the forest whipped violently as the black wind howled.

Yu Qingtang nervously raised his head.

“C-can he really do it?”

The old Fox King answered with great seriousness.

“Winning will be difficult. The difference between them is more than one full major realm.”

Yu Qingtang’s eyes widened.

“What? Then why did you encourage him to fight?”

“What are you afraid of?” The old Fox King smiled slyly. “With me here, do you think I would let him die?”

Yu Qingtang fell silent.

One look at that fox face of yours and the fluffy tails swaying behind you, and I can’t help feeling you aren’t especially reliable.

“Oh dear.” The old Fox King sighed softly, looking genuinely aggrieved. “Surely those mortal storybooks haven’t led you astray as well? Do you think foxes are born liars?”

“Look at me. I happened across this poor little tiger running around begging for someone to save her people, so I kindly stopped to help. How could I possibly be a bad fox?”

Yu Qingtang felt that this was not something a good fox would ever say.

Yet for some reason, when he looked into those pitiful eyes, he instinctively nodded and believed him.

The air suddenly split behind them.

The demonic weapon came roaring over, shrouded in violent demonic energy. The old Fox King casually raised a hand to block it, then smilingly slipped aside.

“Careful. You might frighten Little Yu.”

“I aimed that at you.” Ye Chenyan raised a hand and recalled his spear, glaring at him threateningly.

“Hehe.” The old Fox King pretended to know nothing and turned his smiling face away.

Scholar Xiao hurriedly seized Yu Qingtang by the shoulders and shook him.

“Brother Yu, wake up! Don’t fall under his fox-charm art!”

“Hmm? Huh?” Yu Qingtang turned around blankly, clearly still confused. “What art?”

The Thundercrest Leopard, who had been resting inside the spirit boat with her eyes closed, angrily headbutted him.

A sharp crackle ran through Yu Qingtang’s hand.

“Ow!” he cried. “What shocked me?”

“Are you awake now?” Chi Yantian picked him up bodily and shook him. “Don’t fall for that fox’s tricks!”

The Thundercrest Leopard spoke aloud.

“An old fox his age still using fox charms to seduce people! Shameless!”

“Hey now—” The old Fox King bent down and pointed at her. “This is our fox clan’s signature skill. Why should getting older mean I’m no longer allowed to use it? I’ll use it as much as I please.”

“Come, come, little girl. Look into my eyes. Let me see how strong your will is and whether you’ll fall for it.”

The Thundercrest Leopard immediately squeezed her eyes tightly shut.

Yu Qingtang finally came back to his senses.

“Was I under his spell?”

He scratched his head and raised a hand, gesturing for the fox and leopard to stop fighting. Then he looked up into the sky.

The two combatants were trading blows, but the disparity in cultivation remained. Overall, Ye Chenyan was still at a disadvantage.

During another exchange, a thread of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth. He had clearly suffered a loss.

Yu Qingtang’s heart tightened, only for him to see Ye Chenyan’s eyes growing brighter and his fighting spirit surging higher.

He was plainly enjoying himself.

The Four-Square Ram King did not want to become entangled in a prolonged battle, especially with the unpredictable old Fox King watching nearby.

He unleashed killing blows several times, but his opponent was extraordinarily cunning. Ye Chenyan possessed a keen instinct for truly lethal attacks and managed to evade every one.

That was not all.

The Four-Square Ram King furrowed his brows.

Ye Chenyan was gradually adapting.

Just as the old Fox King had said, he seemed to have been lacking a worthy sparring partner. Under the immense pressure of a genuine battle, he was absorbing the abilities he had recently learned at an astonishing speed. His momentum climbed higher with every exchange.

He was like...

A wolf sinking its teeth into prey far larger than itself, dragging it toward death one inch at a time.

The Four-Square Ram King narrowed his eyes and abruptly assumed his true form.

A colossal black ram blotted out the sky. One enormous hoof crashed down and flattened an entire mountaintop.

The old Fox King raised a hand and shielded everyone behind him, even letting out a laugh.

“Now do you understand why they call him the Four-Square Ram King? He has four hooves and can flatten four mountaintops in a single go.”

“Cough, cough!”

Yu Qingtang waved the dust away and anxiously searched for Ye Chenyan.

“Where is Ye Chenyan?”

The old Fox King narrowed his eyes as well.

The enormous black ram lowered his gaze, searching for his enemy to see whether he had already been crushed into a meat patty.

The next instant, Ye Chenyan abruptly appeared behind its head.

Yu Qingtang looked up.

The move Ye Chenyan had once used against Candle Nine Yin appeared again. This time, however, they could see the lithe silhouette of a colossal wolf behind the smoke.

Razor-sharp claws descended, slashing the ram’s remaining horn from behind and leaving three pale marks across its surface.

“Baa—!”

The enormous force struck the giant black ram’s horn. Its body tilted sharply, nearly losing its balance and toppling to the ground.

Ye Chenyan’s ferocious assault lasted only an instant.

The next moment, he returned to human form, his face slightly pale.

The black ram, which had nearly fallen, suddenly straightened.

Its moment of weakness had been a feint.

Murderous intent erupted in its eyes, and its jaws snapped toward Ye Chenyan, intending to swallow him whole.

The old Fox King’s expression shifted.

He flashed forward and snatched Ye Chenyan back to his side. The Four-Square Ram King’s jaws closed on empty air.

The old Fox King burst out laughing.

“Oh my, you black-hearted old ram. Surely you haven’t truly lost your temper after being struck by a junior? That’s going too far.”

“Mid Nascent Soul.”

The giant black ram stepped forward. The murderous intent in its eyes was intense, and its voice no longer sounded sleepy.

It was as though it had removed a mask of mildness and no longer bothered concealing its ferocity.

“Old fox, when you and I were at mid Nascent Soul, did either of us possess such strength?”

The old Fox King considered the question, then gently shook his head.

“That was far too long ago. I can’t remember.”

“Hmph.”

The black ram’s single horn began to shine.

“This boy cannot be allowed to live.”

“Oh no.” The old Fox King looked startled. “The old bastard is genuinely angry. Time to bolt!”

He instantly assumed his true form.

His tails swept around the others, enveloping them all, and he shot into the sky.

Laughing loudly, he called back, “We’ll stop here for today, you black-hearted old ram! Keep that horn on your head for now. Once he breaks through to the Out-of-Body stage, we’ll come back and teach you another lesson!”

Supporting Ye Chenyan, Yu Qingtang could not resist looking back.

At last, I’ve heard that classic line in person.

Usually, the person who says something like that is the one who won’t be around much longer.

He turned his head, only for Ye Chenyan’s head to loll sideways and rest against him.

Yu Qingtang panicked.

“Are you all right?”

“I’m fine.”

Ye Chenyan chuckled under his breath, then began laughing louder and louder.

He exhaled.

“An Out-of-Body Demon King really does have some skill.”

He opened his palm.

The hand that had struck the ram’s horn was still trembling slightly.

Ye Chenyan raised a brow.

“What a shame. I wanted to cut his horn off.”

“Tsk.” The old Fox King could not resist looking back at him. “Arrogant brat.”

“Do you know that those horns are the weapons he takes the greatest pride in? The Mountain-Shaking Ape King was at the Integration stage when he snapped one of them off with his bare hands. The Four-Square Ram King’s vital essence was severely damaged, his cultivation plummeted, and he nearly died.”

“You still dared attack his remaining horn. You struck his rawest nerve and genuinely enraged him.”

Ye Chenyan closed his eyes and leaned against Yu Qingtang, pretending not to hear.

The Young Dragon King struggled to speak.

“Fox King, where are we going?”

“I came out today to attend the old ape’s funeral feast.” The old Fox King laughed, paying no regard to whether any of them wanted to come. “Since I happened to run into you, I might as well bring you along.”

“There may be even more excitement to watch later.”

“Ahem.”

Yu Qingtang tried pushing Ye Chenyan’s head away. When it refused to budge, he gave up and mysteriously produced the Treasure-Gathering Basin.

“So, uh... Now that the robbery is over, it’s time to divide the loot.”

The Young Dragon King suddenly remembered what had happened. He pointed furiously at Yu Qingtang.

“I almost forgot! You little thief, give me back my treasures!”

“Oh, how can you say that?” The old Fox King looked back with a smile. “Whatever you seize belongs to you. That is the law of Great Wilderness Mountain.”

“Everyone present gets a share. Give me some too.”

Yu Qingtang stared at him in shock.

“What? You’re already a Demon King, and you still want to divide the loot with us?”

The old Fox King widened his eyes.

“So what if I’m a Demon King? Supporting an entire household costs even more!”

Yu Qingtang silently counted the passengers, then took out several spirit stones and arranged them across the old Fox King’s fluffy back.

“One spirit stone per person. Ride fare.”

The old Fox King froze briefly, then burst out laughing.

“I’ve never been this cheap before! Wait, no—you’re one stone short!”

He began haggling over every last coin.

“You brought an unconscious rabbit aboard too. Don’t think I failed to notice!”

Canglang froze.

“Wait—we brought that rabbit demon with us. I nearly forgot!”

The others exchanged looks.

“What do we do with him now?”

“You’ve already brought him this far.” The old Fox King encouraged them, “Pay me one more spirit stone, and I’ll carry him to Ape Mountain with us. The Lunar Jade Rabbit clan should be attending the funeral feast today as well.”

Yu Qingtang’s eyes widened in astonishment.

“What? He comes from such an impressive background?”
