Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen then reached for the culprit behind the whole affair.

They took the bottle containing the Enchanting Heart Worm from Zelda, exchanged a look, and then began to shake it frantically.

The Enchanting Heart Worm was slammed back and forth inside the bottle. The poor creature was knocked completely disoriented, fainting and waking up over and over again.

"CHEE CHEE CHEE—"

"Urp~"

Yue Junxiao stopped shaking the bottle and glared menacingly at the Enchanting Heart Worm inside. "Are you awake yet?! Are you?! Spit it out! Where did you take her?!"

The Enchanting Heart Worm’s eyes were swirling like pinwheels. The tiny creature staggered, fell, got back up, and immediately fell over again.

Yan Yichen chimed in, "Are you going to talk? If not, we’ll keep shaking!"

The Enchanting Heart Worm looked like it was about to be sick. "Don’t! Don’t shake me anymore!" it pleaded.

Upon hearing this, Yue Junxiao immediately leaned closer and threatened, "Then talk. Where did you take her?"

The Enchanting Heart Worm opened its tiny, beady eyes pitifully and said in a weak voice, "I really don’t know. I was just in charge of helping the Illusion Insect trap you. The Illusion Insect didn’t tell me anything else."

Yan Yichen didn’t believe a word of it. He made a move to shake the bottle again. "You were working together. How could you not know where she was taken? If you don’t start telling the truth, I’m going to start shaking."

Terrified they would start shaking it again, the Enchanting Heart Worm blurted out, "No, no, no, I really don’t know! It’s smarter than me. The Insect Mother only told me to help the Illusion Insect capture that female."

Yue Junxiao’s face hardened. He said to Yan Yichen, "Looks like it won’t tell the truth. Shake."

Yan Yichen then gave the bottle a violent shaking. "BANG! BANG! BANG!—"

The Enchanting Heart Worm’s tiny body slammed against the walls of the bottle.

"CHEE CHEE CHEE—"

The Enchanting Heart Worm shrieked, "I’ll talk! I’ll talk..."

It was terrified that if it spoke any softer, they wouldn’t hear and would just keep shaking.

Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen glanced at each other, then both fixed their gazes on the Enchanting Heart Worm. "Out with it."

"I really don’t know where it is..." Before the Enchanting Heart Worm could finish, Yue Junxiao made a move to shake the bottle again. The worm’s beady eyes flew wide, and it finished the rest of its sentence in a panicked shriek, "But—but I can contact it!"

Yan Yichen said, "Could have said that sooner."

Yue Junxiao snorted. "Exactly."

He immediately turned to Hu Yan. "Hu Yan, it says it can contact the Illusion Insect."

Zelda hadn’t expected that for such a small creature, the Enchanting Heart Worm would be just as small in courage. They had actually managed to shake a solution out of it.

Noticing everyone staring at it, the Enchanting Heart Worm tried to shrink into a ball. Its beady eyes were filled with panic, and its four tiny claws were so tense it didn’t know where to put them.

Hu Yan said, "Tell it to contact the Illusion Insect and ask for the exact location."

Yue Junxiao immediately tapped the bottle. "You hear that? Contact the Illusion Insect. Tell it to give you its location."

The tap nearly knocked the Enchanting Heart Worm over, and its voice was tinged with panic. "CHEE CHEE CHEE—"

Then, its antennae began to quiver, as if it were truly contacting the Illusion Insect.

After a moment, it was unclear what the other insect said, but the Enchanting Heart Worm looked like it was about to cry.

Yan Yichen was about to question it when he heard the Enchanting Heart Worm wail, "Waaah... It won’t let me come over. It’s afraid I’ll lead you to it."

He instinctively asked, "What did you tell it?"

The Enchanting Heart Worm said between sobs, "I told it that you broke the Illusion Realm and that I wanted to go find it. It said it’s worried you let me go on purpose so I’d lead you right to it, so it won’t let me come over."

After a moment of silence, Sang Mo remarked, "I can see now you really were just an accessory to the plan."

Yue Junxiao frowned. "If the Illusion Insect won’t give us its location, what do we do?"

Hu Yan said coldly, "We take her by force."

Yue Junxiao was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Hu Yan to be so hardcore.

Zelda stared at it curiously for a moment. "I can’t believe the Insect Clan has this kind of bug. Is this really an Evolution Species? Not a primal one?"

Yue Junxiao chuckled. "Maybe all its growth points went into its abilities? Is that why it’s so small?"

His comment drew stares from the others.

Yue Junxiao looked baffled. "Was I wrong?"

"No, you’re right," Lang Qiu agreed.

Sang Mo was even more blunt. "A rare moment of usefulness from your brain."

Yue Junxiao: "..."

Just then, Hu Yan suddenly took the bottle from Yan Yichen and asked the Enchanting Heart Worm, "Do you want to be let out?"

Hearing his coaxing tone, the Enchanting Heart Worm’s beady eyes welled up with tears. It let out a sob. "Hic~"

Although the Enchanting Heart Worm was a coward and not as smart as the Illusion Insect, it knew there was no such thing as a free lunch. It asked weakly, "What do you want me to do?"

Hu Yan replied, "It’s simple. In a little while, you’ll just do what you’re good at."

The Enchanting Heart Worm hesitated. ’If I do this, the Insect Mother will be furious when she finds out. But if I don’t... I can’t stand being tortured by them anymore. It’s more painful than just being killed.’

Seeing it hesitate, Yue Junxiao reached for the bottle. The moment his fingers touched the glass, the Enchanting Heart Worm’s eyes widened in terror, and it blurted out without a shred of hesitation, "I’ll do it."

’The Insect Mother will be angry, but compared to this torture, her anger will just mean a small punishment at most.’

’But this... this was a special kind of agony, one that wouldn’t let it die but forced it to stay awake through all the pain.’

It was some distance from Hu Yan’s private residence to Hu Ao’s home, so it took them some time, even traveling at top speed.

Princes who had come of age were permitted to live outside the palace. While they still kept rooms within the palace, most had their own residences elsewhere.

Hu Yan also had a residence granted to him by the Emperor. However, the place where Bai Zhi and the others had been staying on the Main Star was one Hu Yan had purchased privately, a fact few people knew.

If Hu Ao was really behind this, he couldn’t have brought her into the palace. Therefore, she could only be in his residence outside.

While their plan was to take her by force, they couldn’t just charge in. They weren’t certain Bai Zhi was even there, so they first had the Enchanting Heart Worm confuse everyone else.

Hu Yan asked the guard, "Is Hu Ao home? Have you seen a female enter today?"

The guard answered without a moment’s hesitation, "The Eldest Prince is not home, and no female has come by today."

Zelda frowned at his words. "Does that mean it wasn’t Hu Ao?"

Hu Yan shook his head. "Not necessarily. Let’s go inside and take a look."

Under the Enchanting Heart Worm’s influence, they walked swiftly through the main gate. It was a Prince’s residence, after all, and crawling with guards, but thanks to the worm, they entered completely unimpeded.

Hu Yan immediately scanned the entire residence with his spiritual power. Shockingly, she really wasn’t there.

He then said to Zelda and the others, "Split up and check for any secret passages. I’m going to his study."

Hu Ao had a habit: he always kept important things either on his person or in the place where he spent the most time.
