Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 320 - 187: Long Time No See, Do You Still Remember Me?Chapter 320: Chapter 187: Long Time No See, Do You Still Remember Me?
"ROAR!"
Countless roars merged into a soundwave that echoed high above the valley.
Interspersed within was the deafening clap of thunder.
Fierce bolts of lightning painted the sky above the valley a brilliant blue-white.
Over a hundred Thunder Abyss Giants, wielding battle-axes formed from coalesced lightning, charged ferociously toward the two Wizards. Their bodies were wreathed in fine arcs of electricity, as if they were clad in Thunder Armor.
Trapped in the giants’ encirclement, Shang Tao and Peng Yi were drenched in cold sweat, a bitter taste filling their mouths.
They had secretly infiltrated Thunderfall Valley to collect some blood from a Thunder Abyss Giant for an experiment. They thought it would be a simple task, but no sooner had they snuck into the giants’ usual resting place than a series of roars erupted. Before they could even make a move, they were surrounded.
It was as if the Thunder Abyss Giants had known they were coming and had been lying in wait for them.
The chieftain of the Thunder Abyss Giants glared at them with such intense hatred, it was as if they had killed its son. The two Wizards couldn’t for the life of them figure out why.
Shang Tao and Peng Yi were both Level 2 Crystalized Wizards and by no means weak. Yet, facing an assault from over a hundred Level 2 Thunder Abyss Giants, led by a Level 3 chieftain, they were completely overwhelmed and in a wretched state.
If it weren’t for the Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact in Shang Tao’s possession, which made the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain wary enough not to attack with its full strength, they would have been defeated long ago.
But even so, under the relentless siege of the Thunder Abyss Giants, their Spiritual Power was draining rapidly. It was clear they couldn’t hold on for much longer.
"Damn it! We can’t go on like this! We have to find a way to break through!" Shang Tao shouted, his expression fraught with anxiety.
Peng Yi’s cheek twitched, and he clenched his jaw in silence.
’Of course I want to break through,’ he thought, ’but that’s easier said than done.’
That terrifying Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain was watching them like a hawk, ready to strike at any moment. The instant they showed the slightest sign of trying to break out and escape, they would undoubtedly suffer a devastating blow.
For a moment, Peng Yi couldn’t help but feel a surge of despair.
But just then, Peng Yi suddenly saw the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain whip its head around and stare intently into the distance. With a furious roar, its massive body shot away like a streak of light.
This sudden turn of events stunned Peng Yi and Shang Tao. They looked in the direction the chieftain had charged and saw three figures who had appeared at the valley entrance at some unknown point.
Two men and a woman, led by a young Wizard who looked to be twenty years old at most.
What was even more shocking was that below the trio, three haggard-looking Thunder Abyss Giants floated in mid-air, bound by silver metal restraints.
Only then did Peng Yi and Shang Tao understand why the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain had become so agitated.
To their astonishment, the young Wizard remained perfectly calm as the furious Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain charged toward him. Without any visible movement from him, countless streams of silver liquid metal suddenly appeared and rapidly coalesced into a metal spike. Lightning immediately surged to envelop it.
The next moment, the lightning-wreathed metal spike shot forward.
BOOM!
The charging Thunder Abyss Giant was sent flying as if struck by a meteorite. It let out a pained shriek and flew backward even faster than it had charged, slamming violently into the cliff face. Its colossal body was almost entirely embedded in the rock, and a ghastly wound had appeared on its deep blue chest and abdomen.
"A Level 3 Wizard!"
Peng Yi and Shang Tao could only stare, dumbfounded and utterly horrified.
’To heavily wound the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain in a single blow, he has to be at least a Level 3 Wizard.’
’This young Wizard before them was actually a powerful Level 3 Wizard!’
After sending the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain flying with one strike, the young Wizard set down the three captive giants and left with his two companions without a backward glance.
Meanwhile, the Thunder Abyss Giants in the valley fell into disarray after their chieftain was grievously wounded. They didn’t give chase, and in the chaos, a gap appeared in their encirclement of Peng Yi and Shang Tao.
Snapping back to their senses, Peng Yi and Shang Tao seized the opportunity to break through the opening. They fled Thunderfall Valley in a panic before the Thunder Abyss Giants could react.
Once outside Thunderfall Valley, Peng Yi and Shang Tao breathed a heavy sigh of relief. Wiping the cold sweat from their brows, they didn’t even pause to catch their breath before hurrying after the young Wizard.
"Sir, please wait a moment."
Hearing the voice, Pei Ze stopped and turned to look.
Peng Yi and Shang Tao approached him with smiles on their faces. "My name is Peng Yi, and this is Shang Tao," Peng Yi said. "We’re from Blue Bay City of the Star Realm Alliance. Thank you for your help just now, Sir."
’Blue Bay City?’
Pei Ze’s expression shifted slightly. He recalled that this particular Wizard City wasn’t far from Chenxi City, and there was a fair amount of interaction between the two.
"You’re welcome," Pei Ze said with a wave of his hand.
In truth, he hadn’t intended to save them. He wouldn’t have gone out of his way to rescue two strangers for no reason.
It was just that when the Thunder Abyss Giant chieftain spotted him, it had charged at him like a mad beast. He’d had no choice but to strike it down. Helping Peng Yi and his companion escape was merely a coincidence.
Peng Yi asked cautiously, "May I ask who you are, Sir...?"
"My name is Pei Ze, from Chenxi City of the Star Realm Alliance."
Peng Yi and Shang Tao had already guessed that Pei Ze was also from the Star Realm Alliance. After all, the Star Realm Alliance was the only Wizard Civilization in the Multiverse, and over ninety-nine percent of all Wizards hailed from it.
What surprised them, however, was that he was actually from the neighboring Chenxi City.
Learning that Pei Ze came from a friendly neighboring city, the smile on Peng Yi’s face deepened. He was about to speak again when he noticed a strange, slightly stunned expression on Shang Tao’s face.
"What’s wrong?" he whispered to his friend.
Shang Tao didn’t answer his question. Instead, he stared directly at Pei Ze and asked hesitantly, "Sir, did you once participate in the competition between Red Lotus City and Chenxi City?"
