Pei Xianjue looked displeased.

Feng Ling asked him, "Are you done?"

Liang Zhou’s expression was frigid. "Am I wrong?"

"How ridiculous," Feng Ling muttered, turning to walk away. She urged Li Qing, "Hurry up and lead the way. It’s almost dark."

Li Qing pulled his gaze away from the group and resumed walking.

Huangfu Miaomiao followed Li Qing, deliberately keeping her distance from Liang Zhou.

Both of them were Alien Species, making them more sensitive to the hostility Liang Zhou was showing. They remained silent only because they didn’t want to escalate the conflict in this environment.

Watching Feng Ling’s group of three people and two pets walk off, Pei Xianjue felt her headache worsen.

She sighed, rubbed her temples, and asked Liang Zhou, "Did I pay to hire you just so you could lord it over me?"

Feng Ling heard this and pictured Li Qing and Huangfu Miaomiao turning on her.

Huangfu Miaomiao looked from one path to the other, her expression conflicted.

Seeing Huangfu Miaomiao’s predicament, Li Qing spoke up. "The path up leads to the Three Pure Ones Palace. The path down leads to Jade Curtain Waterfall. Either place could be the safe house. As long as we get close enough, players will get a prompt from the Maze System. We can try one path first, and if we don’t get a prompt, we’ll just come back and try the other one."

"Yes! Let’s do that," Huangfu Miaomiao immediately nodded and said to Feng Ling. "It must be because we aren’t close enough to the safe house yet. That’s why I haven’t gotten a notification."
