Feng Huaimu straightened his sleeves, unhurriedly saying, "Didn’t Haohao hear last night? My seventh younger brother is going to Japan for an auction these few days, I have to go take a look, don’t I?"

Xu Haohao watched Feng Huaimu push the door open and leave, and chased after him from behind, shouting, "Feng Huaimu, you bastard!"

"Huaijin, what exactly do you mean by this? Isn’t the auction in Japan still a few days away? Why are you going so soon?" Su Li asked, puzzled.

She’d thought they would wait a few more days; who knew Feng Huaijin would say they had to get ready to leave immediately.

She could hear the man walking toward her, feel two hands gently cupping her face as he lowered his voice with a soft laugh, saying, "I’m not very familiar with things over in Japan, and I don’t speak the language. I need to arrange for an interpreter to accompany me, and go early to get everything set up. Best if we make sure nothing can go wrong."

He had always refused to do anything he wasn’t certain of.

No one really knew what the situation in Japan was like, and on top of that he had to find an interpreter. Translators were easy enough to find, but one willing to go into the underground black market? That was another story.

Su Li could feel Feng Huaijin’s palm rubbing her small face. He deliberately pinched her mouth. "What are you sulking about?"

"Take good care of yourself during this time, I’ll go on ahead," Feng Huaijin bent down, brushed a light kiss on her bloodless cheek, and reminded her softly.

Su Li nodded. "Got it. I’ve got money. With money, what can’t I do?"

"It’s just..." Su Li’s voice halted for a beat, "I feel a little uneasy, like this matter isn’t as simple as it seems."

A glint flickered in Feng Huaijin’s eyes, the corners of his lips hooking into a meaningful smile. He reached out to pinch Su Li’s cheek and scolded lightly, "Where’s all this ’not simple’ coming from? Are all pregnant women like you, so prone to overthinking?"

Su Li slapped his hand away, on the verge of tears.

How was she overthinking?
