"I’m very familiar with you." Feng Yi seemed long used to his attitude and said with a cheerful smile.

Feng Yi reached out again to grab his arm, tugging him toward Su Li and Feng Huaijin’s side. The robot Bo Bo also turned around and followed them over.

Seeing Feng Yi about to head back inside, Feng Huaijin suddenly reached out and pinched the back of her collar.

"Dad, what are you doing?"

Feng Huaijin lowered his voice in warning. "You’d better stay far away from that old man."

Feng Yi: "?"

Feng Huaijin let go, gently wrapping his arm around the slightly worried Su Li as they got in the car and left.

Feng Yi stood at the institute entrance, letting the cold wind blow on her for quite a while, until the guard at the gate asked if she wanted to go back in and sit, saying it was too cold outside.

From a distance, she saw that lean youth standing under a withered tree, issuing commands to his robot Bo Bo as he worked out what data to add next.

Feng Yi ran over. "Ning—"

Ning Yan didn’t even lift his head. "What are you doing here again?"

Feng Yi spoke with righteous conviction. "I just saw my dad and mom off. My dad warned me just now to stay away from old men. This whole institute is full of old grandpas and middle-aged uncles; you’re the youngest one here. I’m guessing what my dad meant was to hint that I should spend more time with you."

"We’re both young, we’ll have more to talk about."

Ning Yan raised his head, his gaze at Feng Yi a little strange.

That Mr. Feng probably did not have such intentions; the way he’d been looking at him had stayed in the "hostile" range the whole time.

Feng Yi tilted her head, studying Ning Yan. He was just like the Uncle Ning in her memories, born with that proud, unyielding air, except he lacked the extra decade or so of wear and tear and had more of a youth’s rawness.

Feng Yi thought for a moment, then leaned closer on purpose and said, "You’re fourteen this year, I’m seventeen, three years older than you. How about from now on you call me sister?"

If she ever went back, she’d have bragging rights: Uncle Ning has called me sister!

Ning Yan gave her a look, then turned around with the robot Bo Bo and walked off.
