Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Coco’s excitement crackled through her veins like electric current after speaking to Jasmine on the phone.
She had called instead of sending a text message, needing to hear the girl’s voice to ensure it was truly Jasmine she had been speaking to, to confirm her accomplice hadn’t somehow been compromised.
The confirmation sent a thrill through her chest, anticipation building with every passing second.
It wasn’t difficult to get a gigolo, though the price was steeper than usual because this particular one had already been booked for another client.
The fact that he was bilingual made communication seamless, and Coco had readily made half payment without hesitation. As soon as the deed was done, she would add the balance, satisfied that her investment would yield the desired outcome.
Her heart soared when she stepped into the hotel room and saw Seraphine unconscious on the chair, head lolled to the side, limbs limp and unresponsive.
The glass on the table was empty, confirming that Jasmine had done her job properly. Coco’s lips curled into a satisfied smile as she surveyed the scene, her plan unfolding exactly as she had envisioned.
Sadly, she had no intention of roping Jasmine in as originally intended. The girl had suddenly become too popular with her first stage appearance, and Coco recognized talent when she saw it.
Some of Coco’s models were already complaining that other agencies they worked with were planning to sign the girl for the freshness she brought to the runway, for that raw quality that couldn’t be manufactured.
Jasmine was becoming an asset, and Coco wasn’t about to sacrifice a rising star for a single scheme.
It wasn’t enough that Sera and Voren took the spotlight at every turn, but for Sera, everyone thought it was Coco, so there was not much of a problem.
The mistaken identity worked in her favor, made her feel powerful, like she was finally getting the recognition she deserved even if it came through deception.
However, the gigolo she brought was suddenly uneasy about the whole thing. His eyes kept darting to the ring on Seraphine’s finger, his brow furrowing with visible discomfort.
"You want me to fuck a married woman?" His voice carried a note of protest, his gaze pinned on that golden band that spoke of vows and commitment. Besides, it was one of a kind, meaning the woman’s husband was no ordinary man.
Coco’s frown deepened, impatience bleeding into her features. "I’ll double the amount."
"No." The gigolo stepped back, his eyes searching Coco’s face with newfound wariness. "Let me guess. You want your twin sister’s husband?"
The two women looked identical, and one was married, so what else could it be? The gigolo prided himself on reading people, on understanding the dynamics of the situations he stumbled into, and this one screamed of jealousy and obsession.
"It’s not your business. Undress and get to business. I’ll undress her for you." Coco’s voice carried an edge of command, her patience wearing thin.
The gigolo wasn’t a fool. If this woman’s husband loved her so much, then the probability of being found and even facing a jail term was screaming in his face. Married women were off limits for him. That was his rule, his line in the sand.
"I’m sorry, but you have to find someone else." He was already at the door, his hand reaching for the handle, when pain seared through his head and he fell unconscious on the floor. The thud of his body hitting the carpet was sickeningly final.
How could Coco lose after coming this far? No way. She wouldn’t allow it. Not after everything she’d sacrificed, every scheme she’d orchestrated, every careful step she’d taken to reach this moment.
She dragged the unconscious man to the bed, his dead weight awkward and heavy. Her fingers worked quickly, undressing him with methodical efficiency until he lay sprawled across the sheets in nothing but his boxers.
Though her plan to ruin Sera had failed because the gigolo was now unconscious, she could still take discriminating naked pictures to send viral. The thought sparked a cruel smile across her lips.
Coco ambled to Sera’s unconscious body on the chair, her hand reaching for the zip behind the dress. Her fingers brushed the metal teeth when Seraphine’s eyes snapped open, alert and clear, showing no trace of the sedative’s effects.
Seraphine stood up from the chair smoothly, brushing imaginary wrinkles from her dress. "I saw Jasmine’s behavior to be strange, so I decided to play along." Her voice carried calm authority, not directly telling Coco that the player had been played, but the implication hung heavy in the air between them.
When Voren told her about the plan, she had insisted on having a word with Coco first. She took the bait willingly, instead of just taking Voren’s plan of letting Coco step in to see she had been fooled.
This confrontation was necessary, and Seraphine refused to let the opportunity slip through her fingers.
Coco’s frown flickered across her face, barely perceptible, but she wasn’t ready to go down, and not without a fight. "So you didn’t drink the wine? Does Jasmine know you outsmarted her?" Her voice carried a challenge, a test.
Seraphine’s smile widened, genuine amusement dancing in her eyes. She decided to push Coco’s buttons, to see how far she could go before the woman cracked. "The fool doesn’t know, and for some reason, I kept this meeting from my husband too."
Satisfaction bloomed across Coco’s face at those words. If Voren was not aware of Seraphine being here alone, then she still had leverage, still had room to maneuver. "It’s not what you think," Coco’s voice softened, taking on a pleading quality. "I just want my daughter back."
Seraphine’s smile didn’t waver. "Is she really your daughter?"
Coco already had an answer to that, had rehearsed it a thousand times, but before she could speak, Seraphine added to her stun. "From what I’ve gathered so far, Voren never even slept with you."
Coco paled instantly, the color draining from her face like water from a cracked vessel. Her hands trembled at her sides, and for the first time, genuine fear flickered behind her eyes. "How did you know?"
