AN OMEGA'S CYCLE: TRAPPED IN HEAT WITH MY FOUR STEPBROTHERS.
Chapter 65: #SIXTY-FIVENICHOLAS’S POV
A month had passed since the last time Elijah and I had properly spoken, and I had become so used to the silence between us that I no longer found myself wondering whether it would change.
The first few days had been difficult because I kept expecting him to knock on my door or stop me somewhere in the house and try to explain himself again, but eventually he stopped trying.
I didn’t know whether he’d finally accepted that I wanted nothing to do with him or whether he was simply waiting for me to calm down, but either way, I preferred things that way. It was easier not having to deal with him.
The same applied to the other brothers. We weren’t fighting openly, but we weren’t close either, and most days I could spend hours in the house without having a proper conversation with any of them.
My mother still believed everything was normal enough, and I had managed to keep the reality of my suspension from her and my stepfather for the entire month. Mum didn’t need to know that I was still on suspension.
Whenever school came up, I gave them enough information to prevent further questions, and because I was still doing my assignments and keeping up with everything I needed to keep up with, nobody had discovered the truth.
There was another problem that had become much harder to hide from myself, though.
My supply of inhibitors and suppressants was almost completely gone.
I had been relying on them for weeks, carefully using what I had left because I knew I wouldn’t be able to function normally without them.
The problem was that I had delayed buying another supply for too long, partly because I had other things occupying my mind and partly because I had assumed getting more wouldn’t be difficult. I had bought the same medication from the same store before, and the owner knew exactly what I needed, so I hadn’t expected there to be a problem.
That morning, however, I knew I couldn’t put it off anymore.
I left the house early and immediately noticed Elijah.
He was standing farther down the street, pretending to be interested in his phone.
I slowed down but he didn’t look at me, so I continued walking.
A few seconds later, I heard footsteps behind me and I stopped.
The footsteps stopped too.
I turned around and Elijah looked up from his phone. "Seriously?"
He sighed and put the phone into his pocket. "What?"
I crossed my arms. "Why are you following me?"
"I’m going to school." He muttered.
"You’ve been following me every morning." I reminded him, obviously not giddy about his actions over the last few weeks.
He had been doing this. This was the one habit he hadn’t given up yet.
He shrugged. "I happen to be going the same way."
"You’ve been doing this for weeks."
He didn’t answer immediately, and that was enough to confirm what I already knew and I folded my arms. "Elijah, I’m not interested in whatever you’re trying to do. If you want to go to school, go. If you want to follow me, stop."
He looked at me for several seconds. "Can you at least let me walk with you?"
"No." His face fell slightly, but I wasn’t interested in making the conversation longer. "Leave me alone."
I turned around and continued walking.
I reached the store several minutes later and looked around before entering. I had become more careful about where I went because I didn’t want anyone seeing me buying my medication, especially after the stalker had already shown that they knew things about me that I hadn’t told many people. I checked the street through the glass before walking toward the counter.
The storekeeper recognized me immediately. "You’re early today."
I nodded slowly, still looking around. "I need my usual."
His expression changed. "What?"
I frowned. "My usual. The inhibitors and suppressants."
He shook his head. "Not today."
Huh?
I stared at him. "Why?"
A pitiful look appeared on his face. "We haven’t received the new stock."
My heart slammed in my chest like a freight train. "You said it was coming this week."
"It was supposed to." He muttered under his breath.
"When?" My tone had turned slightly higher pitched now.
"Three days."
I thought I’d heard him incorrectly. "Three days?"
He nodded slowly. "Yes."
Oh fuck. "I can’t wait three days."
The man shook his head. "I know, but there’s nothing I can give you."
"Check again." I pleaded.
"I already did."
"Please." I pressed.
He looked uncomfortable. "Nicholas, if I had it, I’d sell it to you. You know that."
I stared at the shelves behind him. There were several different medications displayed there, but the ones I needed weren’t among them.
My hands began to feel cold. "Are you sure?"
"I’m sure."
I leaned against the counter. The storekeeper noticed my expression and immediately asked whether I was feeling alright. "I’m fine."
He peered closely at me. "You don’t look fine."
"I’m just tired."
He studied me before speaking again. "Actually, there is something else."
I looked at him. "What?"
He lowered his voice. "Someone bought a large quantity from the last stock."
What? I frowned. "How much?"
The man shrugged. "Enough that I noticed."
"Who?"
He shook his head. "I don’t know."
I paused for a second, my brows furrowing. "You remember them?"
"Not well."
"Was it a man or a woman?"
He thought about it. "I can’t say for certain. They were dressed in a way that made it difficult to see their face properly."
My stomach tightened. "What exactly did they buy?"
"Mostly the same type you’re asking for."
I stared at him. "How much?"
"A lot." He shook his head. "I didn’t think anything of it at the time. Some people buy in bulk. But now that you’re here asking and telling me you need it, I suppose it is a little strange."
I didn’t know what to say.
The stalker had already proved that they could get close to me without me knowing. They had taken photographs of me. They knew where I lived. They knew things about my routine. Now someone had apparently bought a large quantity of the medication I relied on, and I had just been told there wouldn’t be any new stock for another three days.
It could have been a coincidence. I knew that. But I didn’t believe in coincidences anymore. "Do you remember when they came?"
"Earlier this week."
"Which day?"
He gave me the day and my stomach dropped.
It was around the same time I had received one of the stalker’s messages.
I forced myself to remain calm. "Alright."
"I’m sorry." He apologised.
I nodded. "Thanks." Then I left the store without buying anything.
By the time I reached school, I was already uncomfortable. The lack of medication was beginning to affect me more than I wanted to admit, and the knowledge that I had to wait three more days wasn’t helping. I kept telling myself that I could manage it, but the longer I stayed outside, the more distracted I became.
The moment I entered the university grounds, I heard people talking.
I didn’t need to listen carefully to know what they were discussing.
My suspension.
Apparently, a month wasn’t long enough for people to get bored.
I walked past a group of students who immediately lowered their voices when they noticed me looking at them. One of them whispered something to another, and they both laughed, but I kept walking.
I wasn’t going to give them a reaction. I had spent enough time being angry about what happened that I was tired of giving the people involved any more of my energy. I entered my classroom and sat down.
Jayden wasn’t there.
I checked the time. He should have been in class, so I didn’t worry about it at first. I opened my notebook and tried to focus on the lecture, but I couldn’t concentrate. My body was uncomfortable, my mind was still stuck on the conversation at the store, and every few minutes I found myself looking toward the door.
Eventually, I stopped trying and I packed my things and went to the restroom.
I locked myself inside and sat down, hoping the privacy would help but it didn’t.
My cock throbbed in my pants and I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to ignore the aching feel of it.
The discomfort had become difficult to ignore, and I couldn’t find a comfortable position. I took several slow breaths and tried to distract myself by scrolling through my phone, but that didn’t work either.
Fuck.
Without thinking, I made sure the door was locked before I pulled down my pants and wrapped a hand around my aching dick.
Pre-cum pooled at the tip as I slowly dragged a hand over my length, giving it a firm tug.
"Oh fuck—" I bit down hard on my lip, trying to relieve myself, when suddenly, there was a knock on the restroom door.
I immediately froze and looked up as another knock followed. "Hello?" I croaked.
No response.
I stood up and carefully opened the stall.
The restroom was empty. I walked toward the entrance and looked into the hallway.
Nobody.
I frowned. "Hello?"
Still nothing. I was about to close the door when I noticed a small package sitting on the floor just outside and I froze.
There was no reason for it to be there. I looked down the hallway again. It was still empty.
Weird.
I crouched and picked it up. My name was written on the top. Who had sent this? My heart began beating faster.
I carried it inside and closed the door. For several seconds, I stared at the package without opening it. Then with a deep breath, I tore open the package.
The moment I saw what was inside, I stopped breathing.
Inhibitors and suppressants. Several sealed packets of exactly what I had gone to the store looking for that morning.
I picked one up and I checked the packaging — It was genuine.
My first reaction was relief and I actually sat down because my legs felt weak.
Someone had solved a problem that had been worrying me all morning. But then the obvious question hit me. Who?
I looked at the package again. The storekeeper had told me the medication wasn’t available. Someone had bought a large quantity, meaning someone had apparently known that I needed it. And now someone had somehow brought the same medication into the university and left it outside a restroom I happened to be using.
Who had done this?
