"Do you know exactly where this underground complex is located?" Naomi asked sharply.
The Lion King nodded his massive head. He reached into a small leather pouch on his belt. He pulled out a folded piece of worn parchment. He tossed the parchment onto the ground. It landed right in front of Sayma.
"That is a map of my native jungle," the Lion King explained. His voice sounded defeated. "I marked the precise coordinates of their primary operational base. I also marked the detailed access routes. The paths are extremely hidden. You will never find the entrance without those directions."
Sayma bent down politely. She picked up the parchment. She unrolled it carefully. She inspected the hand-drawn map. The coordinates were very specific. The access routes were clearly marked with red ink.
"The map is highly detailed," Sayma confirmed. She pushed her glasses up. She looked at Princess Iris. "This is critical intelligence. If these dark forces are building a massive base, they are planning a large-scale operation."
The Lion King slowly pushed himself off the ground. He stood up on his shaking legs. He looked at the elite girls. He looked completely exhausted.
"I give you this information as a final bargain," the Lion King stated. He pointed a dirty finger at the map. "You let my army leave this city in peace. You take that map. You go to the jungle. You destroy those dark magicians. You take my home back from them."
Princess Iris looked at the massive warlord. She understood his pain. She understood losing a home. She nodded her head gracefully.
"We accept your bargain," Princess Iris declared with absolute resolve. "You may leave the city safely. We will take the map. We will investigate this underground complex. We will stop the hostile forces."
The Lion King offered a single, respectful nod. He turned around. He did not pick up his spiked club. He left the heavy weapon in the dirt. He walked slowly toward the edge of the plaza. He called out to his scattered soldiers. The defeated army gathered together. They limped away into the streets. They retreated entirely from the city of Mira.
The 13th Unit stood alone in the ruined plaza. The battle was officially over. They had won.
But the atmosphere did not feel victorious. It felt incredibly serious. The revelation of the Black Magicians changed everything. The strategic perspective of the Succession War shifted immediately.
"This is not just a local problem anymore," Sayma noted quietly. She folded the map and placed it securely in her notebook. "The dark forces are actively invading territories. They are displacing entire armies. They are destabilizing multiple regional powers simultaneously. They are preparing for a massive conflict."
Zinia crossed her arms. Her face looked very tough. "Then we need to stop them. We cannot let them build a secret army in the jungle."

Laxmi punched her open palm. "I am totally ready! We will march right into their underground base and burn it to the ground! They will regret stealing the jungle!"
Luna rubbed her sleepy eyes. She let out a loud, dramatic yawn. "A jungle? That sounds very humid. The bugs are going to be terrible. Do we really have to go? I prefer cities. Cities have nice beds."
Ira stared blankly at the sky. Her pale face showed zero emotion. "Statistically speaking, infiltrating a massive, fortified underground complex yields a high probability of extreme danger. We must prepare extensive tactical countermeasures."
Risa hugged her stuffed teddy bear tightly. She looked a little nervous. "I will pack extra bandages. We need to be very careful in the dark."
Princess Iris turned to her team. Her violet eyes shone with pure determination. She felt incredibly proud of her friends. They were ready to face any challenge. "We secure this battlefield first. We help the local citizens. Then, we pack our gear. We are heading to the jungle."
Ken Eliot sat on his rock. He let out a long, loud sigh. He slouched his shoulders as far as they could possibly go. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets.
"This is terrible news," Ken complained lazily. He looked at Naomi with sleepy eyes. "A jungle? Jungles involve entirely too much walking. There are vines everywhere. I will definitely trip over a root. And an underground base means stairs. I absolutely hate stairs. Can we please just send them a polite letter asking them to leave?"
Naomi walked over to him. She laughed a bright, happy laugh. She playfully bumped his shoulder with her arm. She smiled warmly at him.
"You are going to walk, Ken," Naomi teased cheerfully. "You can complain the entire time. But you are coming with us. I will make sure you do not trip over any roots."
"I am going to hold you to that promise," Ken grinned a goofy grin. He popped another piece of candy into his mouth. "And I demand a very large snack when we get there. Adventuring makes me incredibly hungry."
The 13th Unit gathered together in the plaza. The immediate threat was gone. They had secured the city. But they knew a much larger, darker storm was brewing in the distant jungle. The true enemy was finally revealed, and the real fight was just beginning.
---
Princess Iris held the map. The Lion King had drawn specific coordinates on the worn parchment. The ink showed a path through the dense jungle. The 13th Unit followed the path carefully. The jungle was hot. The air felt thick with moisture. Large green leaves blocked the sunlight.
Ken Eliot walked at the very back of the group. He dragged his shoes through the dirt. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff. He wore his tailored navy blue suit. The fabric was completely covered in dust. His white shirt hung untucked over his belt. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets. He let out a loud, dramatic yawn.
"This jungle is absolutely terrible," Ken complained loudly. He stopped walking and shook his foot. "There are too many bugs. A mosquito just looked at me. It looked very hungry. I am not an all-you-can-eat buffet for bugs. I need a protective net. Or maybe a very large fan."
Naomi walked right in front of him. She did not yell. She did not scowl. She smiled a warm, friendly smile. She turned around and playfully bumped his shoulder with her arm.
"Keep moving, Ken," Naomi teased gently. Her green eyes sparkled with amusement. "We are almost there. You can survive a few bugs. I promise I will not let them carry you away."
Ken gave her a goofy, lazy grin. "Thank you, Naomi. You are a great bodyguard. But if a giant spider shows up, I am officially running away. I am incredibly fast when I am terrified."
Laxmi tossed a tiny orange spark of fire between her fingers. She laughed out loud. "You run away from everything, Ken! You even ran away from a butterfly yesterday."
"Butterflies are very suspicious," Ken argued casually. He popped a piece of strawberry candy into his mouth. "They flutter too much. You never know what they are thinking."
