Javier stood on the balcony. He fell to his knees. His pale hands shook violently. He stared at the empty, glowing streets. He stared at the giant red dragon. He stared at the golden warrior on the roof. He stared at the masked Sovereign standing calmly in the center of the destruction.
His grand design was completely ruined. His infinite army was wiped out in minutes. He had absolutely nothing left. The overwhelming power of Ken's commanders broke him entirely. He was entirely overpowered, and he finally realized he had picked a fight with a true god.
---
Javier stared at the empty street. His massive army of monsters was completely gone. He fell to his knees in the dirt. He trembled violently. His pale hands shook in the cool wind. The terrifying power of the commanders broke his mind entirely. He could not process his defeat. He thought his dark magic was totally invincible. He was entirely wrong.
Ken Eliot stood a few feet away. He wore his wrinkled navy blue suit. His white shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He kept his hands stuffed deep inside his pockets. He slouched his shoulders. He looked incredibly bored.
"Well, that was very fast," Ken said lazily. He popped a green gummy worm into his mouth. He chewed it slowly. "You ran out of bad guys. You do not have any more monsters. This game is officially over. We won."
Javier could not speak. He just cried quietly. He stared at the gray ash on the cobblestones.
Suddenly, a slow clapping sound echoed across the ruined plaza.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Ken stopped chewing his candy. He rolled his eyes. He let out a loud, dramatic sigh. "Here we go again. The hidden mastermind always claps. It is the most predictable anime trope in the entire world. Can we please just skip the long monologue? I really want to go home and eat dinner."
A new man walked out from the dark shadows of a broken building.
The man did not wear dark, ragged robes. He wore a pristine, spotless white lab coat. He had neat, short silver hair. He wore a pair of round glasses. He pushed his glasses up his nose. He smiled a very calm, incredibly arrogant smile. He walked gracefully toward the center of the plaza.
Karna stood near Ken. The silver-eyed spymaster looked at the new arrival. He analyzed the man instantly.
"Boss," Karna reported smoothly. "That man is not a Black Magician. He is not from a foreign nation. He is wearing a silver pin on his coat. The pin shows the royal crest of the Bluemoon Kingdom. He is a local citizen."
Ken blinked his sleepy eyes. He looked at the man. "A local guy? Why is he clapping for the bad guys? That makes absolutely no sense."

The man stopped walking. He stood right next to the crying Javier. He looked down at the defeated dark mage. His eyes filled with pure, unfiltered disgust.
"You are incredibly useless, Javier," the man stated coldly. "I gave you the keys to my kingdom. I disabled the magical alarms for you. I let your army inside the walls. I expected you to conquer the city properly. You lost your entire massive army in ten minutes. You are a pathetic failure."
Ken tilted his head. He pulled another gummy worm from his plastic bag. "Wait a second. You let them inside? You betrayed your own kingdom? You caused this massive destruction on purpose?"
The man turned his attention to Ken. He offered a small, polite bow. "Allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Greed. I am the chief scientist of the Bluemoon Kingdom. Or, I was the chief scientist. The royal title is quite meaningless to me now."
Ken slouched his shoulders even further. He gave the scientist a goofy, confused look. "You have a terrible name for a good guy. Greed? That literally screams traitor. Your name sounds like a villain from a cheap comic book. The king definitely needed a better hiring manager. He should have checked your background better."
Greed chuckled softly. He did not look insulted. He looked very proud of himself.
"The king was a complete fool," Greed stated angrily. "He was a weak, cowardly man. I wanted to push the boundaries of science. I wanted to study the true, absolute potential of black magic. I wanted to dissect the dark mana. But the king banned my research. He called my experiments highly unethical. He shut down my laboratory. He refused to let my genius flourish."
Greed spread his arms wide. He smiled a crazy, manic smile.
"Science requires immense sacrifice," Greed proclaimed loudly. "Science demands brutal progress. I simply found new partners. The Black Magicians appreciated my brilliant mind. They gave me unlimited funding. They gave me unlimited test subjects. I sold this pathetic kingdom to them in exchange for absolute scientific freedom."
"You sold out your own people for a science project," Ken mumbled lazily. He chewed his candy and shook his head. "You let innocent people turn into zombies. You are just like those corrupt politicians back home in my city. You guys all read the exact same villain handbook. It is very unoriginal. It is totally boring."
Greed glared at the messy boy. His eyes flashed with pure madness. "You do not understand true, unparalleled genius. You destroyed Javier's little toys. You beat his weak shadow monsters. But you cannot destroy my ultimate creation. I spent years building it. I combined top-tier science with forbidden dark magic. I built the perfect, unstoppable weapon."
Ken let out a massive, face-stretching yawn. He rubbed his sleepy eyes. "A perfect weapon? Is it a giant robot? Please tell me it is a giant robot. I absolutely love mecha anime. The giant robots are always super cool. They have shiny lasers and big swords."
Greed raised his hands high into the air. He did not chant a magical spell. He did not draw a glowing circle on the ground. He reached into the pocket of his white lab coat. He pulled out a small, black remote control. The remote glowed with toxic purple magic. He pressed a bright red button on the device.
"Awaken, my masterpiece!" Greed roared at the top of his lungs.
The ground beneath the ruined plaza suddenly cracked wide open. A deafening, terrifying roar echoed from deep inside the earth. The cobblestones shattered into a million pieces of gray dust. Tall stone buildings toppled over and crashed into the streets. A gigantic crater formed in the absolute center of the city.
Something colossal crawled out of the dirt.
It was a Golem.
It was absolutely gigantic. It stood exactly one hundred meters tall. It towered over the tallest castle towers in the capital. The monster was made of dark, twisted metal and solid black stone. Toxic purple magic pulsed brightly through large glowing cracks in its thick armor.
