Meanwhile, at almost the exact same time inside ZAGE Tower, Zaboru was sitting comfortably in his office with one leg crossed over the other, casually browsing YouTube after finishing several reports.

Then something caught his attention.

A livestream.

The channel belonged to Higashi Kurata.

Zaboru blinked once, then leaned closer to the screen.

"Huh?"

The thumbnail showed Higashi sitting in front of a television together with his family.

And there, unmistakably, sitting beside him with the same stern expression he used during business meetings, was Hikaru Kurata.

Zaboru stared for several seconds.

Then his mouth slowly curled into a grin.

"Hehehe…"

He opened the livestream immediately.

What made it even better was the game they were playing.

The Incredibles.

Zaboru leaned back and chuckled. "Heh… these kinds of games really are best with co-op."

That had been the entire point behind the project.

When Zaboru originally prepared The Incredibles game-development folder, he had heavily based its structure on the LEGO-style cooperative games from his previous life. The difference was that instead of simply swapping between characters with slightly different animations, every member of the Incredible family was designed to solve problems differently.

Mr. Incredible handled raw strength and destruction. Elastigirl could stretch across gaps and reach mechanisms hidden behind walls. Dash handled timed puzzles and speed sections, while Violet could bypass security using invisibility and protect the team with force fields.

Even though the game could technically be played alone by switching characters, Zaboru always considered that the weaker experience.

Playing these kinds of games alone could become repetitive surprisingly quickly.

But with friends?

With siblings?

With family members arguing over who ruined the puzzle?

That was where the game became something special.

Zaboru watched quietly through one of his alternate accounts for several minutes, genuinely amused by what he saw.

Hikaru still maintained that familiar stoic expression, but Zaboru could tell immediately that the man was enjoying himself.

He watched Hikaru complain when Higashi rushed ahead with Dash. He watched Ikuyo laugh after Elastigirl accidentally fell from a platform. He saw Inari use Violet's force field at the wrong time and temporarily trap her own father.

Zaboru covered his mouth, trying not to laugh too loudly.

"He really changed…"

There was genuine satisfaction behind the words.

Several years earlier, Hikaru had been obsessed with defeating ZAGE. Sonaya repeatedly tried chasing whatever ZAGE created, and Hikaru had treated nearly every interaction between their companies like a personal war.

Now Sonaya had become much healthier.

Instead of desperately trying to become another ZAGE, the company had finally returned to creating its own identity.

Their recent releases proved it.

Sun Knight 5 had been excellent.

Sherif Juan 5 had become one of Sonaya's strongest games in years.

Sun Knight 5 had even won FAMICOM's Game of the Year award in 1999 beating all ZAGE gagmes.

Zaboru had absolutely no complaints about that.

If a competitor released a genuinely excellent game, then it deserved recognition.

Competition was much more interesting when everyone created good products.

Zaboru continued watching until he noticed how small the viewer count remained.

He raised an eyebrow.

Only a few dozen people were watching.

"That's kind of lonely, isn't it?"

The grin returned immediately.

He knew exactly what he wanted to do.

Zaboru logged out of the alternate account.

Then logged back in with his official Zaboru account.

His verified ZAGE profile alone had an enormous following across YouTube, ZAGE Forum, Steam, and several other online services.

The moment he entered Higashi's livestream, Zaboru typed one simple message.

Zaboru: Whoa! Hikaru Kurata playing The Incredibles!? INCREDIBLE!

He stared at the message.

Then began laughing at his own terrible joke.

"Perfect."

After that, Zaboru activated his account announcement system.

Thousands upon thousands of users following him immediately received a notification.

Zaboru leaned back comfortably.

"Hehehe… free promotion."

The number began rising almost immediately.

Fifty viewers became several hundred.

Several hundred became several thousand.

Then tens of thousands.

Zaboru watched the counter climb with increasing amusement.

"Uh-oh."

He knew exactly what was about to happen.

Back inside the Kurata household, nobody had noticed yet.

Higashi was still playing Dash while trying to activate several switches scattered across a large stage. Inari was controlling Violet and protecting her mother while Hikaru used Mr. Incredible to fight several enemies.

Ikuyo was laughing because she had accidentally stretched Elastigirl directly into an enemy.

"Wait, wait! Help me!"

"Mom, move back!" Higashi said, laughing.

"I'm trying!"

Inari quickly activated Violet's force field around her. "There!"

Ikuyo looked relieved. "Thank you!"

Hikaru continued attacking enemies and muttered, "Nobody is helping me."

Higashi grinned. "You're Mr. Incredible. You said you didn't need help."

"That was regarding a door."

"Sounds like an excuse."

Hikaru glanced toward his son. "Do you want me to turn this game off?"

"Nope."

Ikuyo laughed again.

Everything remained completely normal until Higashi casually glanced toward his computer monitor.

He expected maybe ten viewers.

Perhaps twenty.

Maybe fifty if some of his school friends had shared the stream.

Instead, the number displayed on the screen had already passed one hundred thousand.

Higashi froze.

His controller slowly lowered.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Hikaru immediately turned toward him with a sharp look. "Higashi. Your mouth."

Higashi covered his mouth instantly. "Sorry, Dad."

Then he pointed desperately toward the screen.

"But… but the viewer count!"

Hikaru frowned. "What about it?"

"It's… it's more than one hundred thousand!"

Hikaru stopped moving.

"What?"

Inari immediately ran closer to the monitor. "ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND?!"

Ikuyo looked confused. "Is that a lot?"

Hikaru slowly turned toward her.

"Yes."

"Oh."

Inari suddenly started jumping excitedly. "Mom! That's insanely huge!"

Higashi quickly began scrolling upward through the chat, trying to understand what had happened.

The messages were moving so quickly that he could barely read them.

Then he finally saw the reason.

Zaboru's verified account was sitting near the top of the livestream.

Higashi's face lit up.

"Dad! Zaboru joined!"

Hikaru's expression immediately darkened.

"Of course he did."

"And he announced our livestream through his account!"

Hikaru closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Damn Zaboru. I knew you were going to pull something like this."

The chat became absolute chaos.

That last message made Hikaru immediately stare at the camera.

"He is not buying Sonaya."

The chat exploded even harder.

Higashi was barely holding himself together.

Inari had completely abandoned any attempt to act normal and began waving both hands enthusiastically toward the camera.

"HELLO!"

Hikaru sighed. "Inari, please sit down."

"But there are one hundred thousand people watching!"

"That is exactly why you should sit down."

Ikuyo simply smiled and waved politely. "Hello, everyone."

The chat immediately shifted.

MRS KURATA IS SO NICE

PROTECT THIS FAMILY

HIKARU HOW DID YOU GET SUCH A WHOLESOME FAMILY

MOM CARRYING THE ENTIRE STREAM

Hikaru stared at the comments.

"I am beginning to regret learning how to read internet chat."

Higashi laughed.

The viewer count continued climbing.

One hundred twenty thousand.

One hundred fifty thousand.

Then nearly two hundred thousand.

Higashi looked like he might explode from excitement.

"Dad… this is insane."

Hikaru looked toward the game again.

For a moment, everyone expected him to end the stream.

After all, this had originally been intended as a small family livestream, not an international event involving hundreds of thousands of spectators.

Instead, Hikaru sighed and picked up his controller again.

"Continue playing."

Higashi blinked. "Really?"

"Yes."

Inari immediately sat back down.

Ikuyo smiled.

Hikaru looked toward his children and added, "We started this because you wanted to play together. There is no reason to stop because more people are watching."

Higashi stared at his father for a moment.

Then grinned.

"You really want to continue because you're curious about the story, don't you?"

Hikaru frowned.

"No."

Higashi immediately looked directly into the camera.

"WHOA! MY DAD LOVES THE GAME!"

The chat completely lost control.

CONFIRMED

SONAYA CEO OFFICIALLY ENDORSES THE INCREDIBLES

ZABORU WON

HIKARU IS DEFECTING

SONAYA SHAREHOLDERS IN SHAMBLES

HE SAID HE LOVES IT GUYS WRITE THAT DOWN

Hikaru slowly pinched his forehead again.

"Higashi… your damn mouth."

Ikuyo laughed beside him while Inari tried unsuccessfully to hide her own laughter.

Hikaru shook his head, but he was smiling slightly.

Besides, if he were completely fair, this was not even particularly outrageous by Zaboru's standards.

When Sherif Juan 5 had released, Zaboru had personally livestreamed himself playing the game despite it belonging to Sonaya.

He praised the developers openly, complimented several gameplay systems, and indirectly promoted the game to millions of ZAGE fans.

The livestream had noticeably increased international interest in Sherif Juan.

At the time, Hikaru had pretended he did not care.

He had actually appreciated it.

Perhaps this was simply Zaboru returning the joke.

Hikaru looked briefly toward the camera.

"Zaboru."

Back inside ZAGE Tower, Zaboru immediately leaned forward.

Hikaru continued, "Since you apparently have nothing better to do than send half the internet into my house…"

Zaboru grinned.

"…at least stay until we finish this stage."

For a moment, the chat slowed slightly.

Then Zaboru replied.

Zaboru: Okay. Don't lose INCREDIBLE!.

Hikaru's eyebrow twitched.

"Damn brat."

Higashi and Inari eyes literally litup "WHOA! ZABORU IS REPLAYING!??"

Hikaru looked toward Them and they froze and grinning and start playing the game

Zaboru, watching from ZAGE Tower, narrowed his eyes suspiciously before eventually shrugging.

The family continued playing.

Within minutes, they forgot about the enormous audience again.

Hikaru became focused on combat.

Ikuyo kept asking which button activated Elastigirl's stretching ability.

Inari repeatedly protected the group with Violet.

Higashi ran ahead too often and continued getting yelled at by his father.

The viewers loved every second.

What had originally been a tiny family livestream had accidentally become one of the largest gaming streams of the month.

People were not watching because of professional gameplay.

They were watching because the Kuratas felt unexpectedly normal.

The feared Sonaya CEO argued with his teenage son.

His daughter laughed at him.

His wife occasionally carried the entire team through puzzle sections.

And Hikaru Kurata, one of Zaboru's oldest corporate rivals, was clearly having fun playing a ZAGE game despite refusing to admit it.

By the end of the evening, clips had already begun spreading across YouTube and ZAGE Forum.

"Hikaru Kurata Secret ZAGE Fan?"

"Sonaya CEO Gets Carried by Wife in The Incredibles."

"Zaboru Invades Kurata Family Stream."

"The Most Unexpected Gaming Family of 2001."

Higashi's small YouTube channel gained hundreds of thousands of subscribers almost overnight.

Inari became a fan favourite simply because she kept waving at the camera.

Ikuyo received endless praise for being unexpectedly competitive.

And Hikaru?

Hikaru became a meme.

A screenshot of his exhausted expression after reading "ZABORU FANBOYS HAVE BREACHED THE SONAYA HOUSEHOLD" spread across the internet within hours.

Back inside ZAGE Tower, Zaboru stared at the screenshot and laughed until his stomach hurt.

"Hehehe… sorry, Hikaru."

He paused.

Zaboru's grin became wider.

"…Actually, I'm not sorry at all. Hehehe"
