Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 215: Cloudsea PlanetAfter a busy day, Moira Lynch had finally found suitable habitats for all the species she had collected from Planet Aelmar.
The two Cetabeasts had been indispensable in this effort.
"Are you sure this place is suitable for the Cloudsea Whale to incubate?"
Moira eyed the bottomless ocean trench before her with suspicion.
However, the two Cetabeasts nodded with great certainty.
"The Water Element is most concentrated deep down here. If you place the Cloudsea Whale egg here, it will hatch in just a few months," one of the Cetabeasts said.
’How many months is "a few months" exactly?’
Although she felt a bit uncertain, Moira ultimately chose to trust the two Cetabeasts.
The reason was simple: the lives of the two Cetabeasts were now in her hands.
If they were to deceive her, they would not meet a good end themselves.
She took the Cloudsea Whale Egg out from her space and let go.
The egg slowly descended from Moira’s hand until it was out of sight.
Because Moira had already signed a contract with the Cloudsea Whale, she could sense its current state.
It turned out the two Cetabeasts hadn’t deceived her. The depths below were indeed the most suitable place for the Cloudsea Whale to incubate.
A Red Celestial Eye appeared in Moira’s hand. She had it protect the Cloudsea Whale and monitor its incubation status.
After settling the Cloudsea Whale, the next task was the Isle Turtles.
Isle Turtles were not social creatures. The moment they hatched from their shells, they already possessed the ability to survive independently.
If she forced them to stay together, they might even fight.
’That won’t do.’ After all, her number of Isle Turtles was limited, and each one was very precious.
So, Moira began searching for islands where the Isle Turtles could live.
After finding suitable islands, she also had to plant food sources like Knotweed Kelp nearby for the Isle Turtles to eat.
However, while there were quite a few islands on this planet, most of them were very small.
How small? Some of the islands weren’t even as large as her.
Moira lay down on one, and her legs were submerged in the sea.
Islands like this were definitely unsuitable. So, Moira planted Qio Vine all around these islands.
The Qio Vine’s growth rate was indeed very fast. In just over ten days inside her space, it had already grown to cover nearly half of her ocean.
Although Moira often referred to the body of water in her space as a "small ocean," it was still an ocean, no matter how small.
This just showed how fast the Qio Vine grew. She might even have to restrict its growth in the future.
Thinking of this, Moira suddenly remembered that the fish from Planet Aelmar weren’t the only ones in her space.
"I wonder if the fish from Caelus can survive here."
With this in mind, Moira selected some hardier fish species and released them.
So far, Moira had only released herbivorous fish.
After all, life on this planet was just beginning to develop. If she introduced powerful predators now, the other fish might be eaten to extinction before they could even establish themselves.
After another two consecutive days of work, she finally settled all dozen or so Isle Turtles.
In the process, Moira also found several relatively large islands.
Unfortunately, they were completely bare, without a single plant.
Moira transplanted a few coconut trees and some other plants from her space, then tossed some Water Wood Stones onto the islands to ensure the vegetation could survive.
After doing all this, Moira placed the Planet Exploration Device she had won from a lottery on one of the islands.
An hour later, a fresh planetary report appeared in Moira’s hands.
The entire report was over a hundred pages long.
Besides showing the growth status of the fish and plants she had released, it also listed various mineral deposits.
For now, hardy creatures like the Knotweed Kelp, Qio Vine, Azurevolt Mites, Azure Shrimp, Blue Shrimp Seaweed, and the underwater scavengers, the Little Rainbows, were adapting very well to the environment.
The others were doing a little worse, but there were no major problems.
Flipping to a certain page, Moira’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise.
The report could even display the status of the Cloudsea Whale and the Isle Turtles.
It showed "Good" for all of them, which meant the Cloudsea Whale and the Isle Turtles were adapting well.
After finishing the biology section, next came the minerals.
It was called a Garbage Star, but that didn’t mean it was truly worthless.
According to the Planet Detector, the planet had abundant mineral resources, but they were all hidden beneath the ocean, making extraction incredibly difficult.
Moira just skimmed this part, as she had no intention of developing the planet right now.
For the time being, just utilizing the planet’s marine resources would be enough for her to make a fortune. As for the rest, that could wait.
After putting the report away, she took out the silver certificate again, opened it to the first page, and decided to give the planet a new name.
She hadn’t changed the name right away mainly because she didn’t have any good ideas. Now... she still didn’t have any.
After much thought, Moira finally decided to name the planet after the Cloudsea Whale.
After she entered the name "Cloudsea," the silver certificate flashed with light.
At the same time, her Intelligent Brain, Patience, also received a message.
[Your name change application has been submitted. We will review it within one business day.]
Seeing this, Moira thought, ’Does it need a review to check if the name is already taken?’
"Whatever. I don’t care. Let them review it if they want."
Moira stretched lazily.
She had done everything she needed to do; the rest she would leave to time.
These past few days, she was either soaking in the sea or about to soak in the sea. She felt like she was about to evolve into a Mermaid.
Opening the Teleportation Gate, Moira called the two Cetabeasts over before she left, instructing them to take good care of the various plants and animals in the sea.
At the same time, she also released a few Golden and Red Celestial Eyes.
A few days were definitely not enough for her to explore the entire planet.
The previous report had shown that there were three very large islands on the planet, but she hadn’t seen any of them. They must be in areas she had yet to explore.
After passing through the Teleportation Gate and returning to her room, the first thing Moira did was take a shower to wash off the smell of seawater.
After her shower, she glanced at the time—8:00 PM—and immediately fell onto her bed, dropping into a deep sleep.
The next day, Moira left her room and went downstairs to the first floor.
Kai York saw Moira appear and gave her a casual greeting before his eyes went right back to staring fixedly at the TV.
