"Hey, look! It looks like it’s snowing over in the Thunderfiend Forest!"

The Thunderfiend Forest was the primary habitat of the Thunderfiends, so dangerous bolts of purple lightning would strike down from time to time.

Moreover, Thunderfiends possessed formidable attack power. Their hard scales provided astounding defense, and with their two sharp fangs that could spray venom, they were clearly tough opponents.

Many players were unwilling to fight Thunderfiends. While victory yielded handsome rewards, Thunderfiends never appeared alone. Defeating even one required the coordinated effort of three to four players.

However, even though few dared to venture into the Thunderfiend Forest, quite a few players loitered around its outskirts.

Sometimes, when lightning struck the trees near the edge of the forest, the force of the impact would send pieces of Thunderstruck Wood flying a great distance. These players were here to try their luck and gather them.

And it was because of these players that the strange phenomenon in the Thunderfiend Forest was so quickly noticed.

In all the time they had spent here, this was the first time they had ever seen it snow in the Thunderfiend Forest.

Just then, a few players who had seen Moira Lynch earlier had a sudden realization. ’This couldn’t be the work of that player from just now, could it?’

After all, she was the only person who had entered the Thunderfiend Forest in that time.

Meanwhile, within the Thunderfiend Forest, Moira Lynch was unaware that the disturbance she was causing had already attracted a great deal of attention.

At that very moment, her eyes shimmered with different lights as she activated Blizzard and Aurora Curtain simultaneously.

In an instant, the surrounding scenery grew hazy.

Suddenly, a RUSTLING sound came from nearby.

It was followed by SCRAPING sounds from all directions—the sound of scales dragging along the ground. The noise made goosebumps rise uncontrollably on Moira Lynch’s skin.

Through the white mist, she could faintly make out several black shadows steadily drawing closer.

’Those must be the Thunderfiends.’

Moira Lynch’s heart pounded with anxiety as she watched the massive silhouettes.

She had played her share of games back in school, but none had ever felt so immersive.

Even though she knew this was just a game, a faint sense of fear welled up inside her as she watched the dark figures close in from all sides.

But the fear didn’t last long, because a layer of white snow had already covered the ground at her feet.

It wasn’t much, but it was enough for her to use Melting Snow.

Moreover, as the ambient temperature dropped, her powerful abilities as the Snow Maiden were unsealed.

With the power of the Snow Maiden, the temperature would only drop faster.

In the blink of an eye, the falling snowflakes transformed into a raging blizzard. The cold north wind felt like knives scraping against the skin, bringing a sharp, stinging pain.

The Thunderfiend had another weak spot: the juncture where its three heads split. This was also the location of its heart and the only part of its body not covered by scales.

However, the Thunderfiends seemed to know this was their fatal weakness, so they were always extremely careful. For other players, hitting that spot was a near-impossible feat.

But what was nearly impossible for others was incredibly simple for Moira Lynch.

With a mere thought from Moira Lynch, a gale suddenly swept through the Thunderfiend Forest.

Within the gale, several ice swords appeared silently...

Elsewhere, someone had posted about the disturbance near the Thunderfiends on the Astranet, which quickly garnered a great deal of attention.

After all, the Thunderfiend Forest was full of treasures.

Besides being used to forge weapons, if a Mage absorbed Thunderstruck Wood, there was a chance they could awaken astonishingly powerful Thunder Element techniques.

Even for players of other classes, fusing with Thunderstruck Wood—while not as effective as for a Mage—could imbue their attacks or spells with the Thunder Attribute.

Beyond Thunderstruck Wood, the Thunderfiends themselves were walking treasures.

Their scales could be crafted into armor and their hides into clothing. Eating Thunderfiend Meat increased one’s Thunder Resistance, while the remaining blood, bile, and bones could be used in alchemy.

If the combat prowess of the Thunderfiends residing there weren’t so absurdly high, the top merchant guilds would have claimed the area long ago.

So, upon learning of the disturbance in the Thunderfiend Forest, these guilds immediately dispatched members to investigate the situation.

If someone could actually enter the Thunderfiend Forest and had a method for dealing with the Thunderfiends, they had to be recruited at all costs.

By the time the players representing their guilds arrived at the Thunderfiend Forest, the once gloomy and terrifying woods were now blanketed in white snow. Even the dark storm clouds overhead had faded from black to a pale gray.

Upon seeing this, they immediately began to analyze the scene. ’Ice isn’t conductive.’

’Among all the classes, only a Mage—or a group of Mages working in concert—could cover an entire forest in snow like this.’

They were more inclined to believe the latter.

After all, in the six months since *Divine Soul* had launched, they had never seen a single Mage capable of casting such powerful Ice Magic.

"Let’s go. We’ll check it out," a young player said.

The snow had already stopped by the time they arrived, and they worried that whoever was responsible for all this might have already left.

Once they entered the Thunderfiend Forest, it became clear their premonition was correct.

They found nothing but the lingering traces of a battle.

The Thunderfiend Forest generated a large amount of Thunderstruck Wood daily.

The Thunderfiends would collect whatever Thunderstruck Wood they couldn’t eat right away and save it for later.

They had previously pinpointed the location where the Thunderfiends hoarded their Thunderstruck Wood, and were just waiting for the right moment to claim it all in one fell swoop.

But now, when they found the spot, it was completely empty. There was nothing left but a set of footprints leading in and out, a glaring sign that someone had already beaten them to the prize.

"These tracks are still fresh. Let’s give chase now!"

With that, one player shot off like an arrow released from its bow, and the others quickly followed suit.

Only after they had all left did Moira Lynch’s figure slowly emerge from nearby.

Seeing that they were a good distance away, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

’Good thing I sensed them coming and hid first, otherwise...’

Thinking back on the battle, she had to admit, ’The power of the Snow Maiden is incredible. I insta-killed all those Thunderfiends with ease.’

’It’s a shame it’s so dependent on the environment, though.’
