Apocalypse Beast Supplier: Only I Sell God-Tier Beasts
Chapter 86: Reliable BeastsWhatever kind of creature this was, Terrence realized that if this was an entirely different race similar to humans—one capable of speaking a complex language and building a civilized society—he had to completely abandon any thoughts of investigating further right now.
’Shit! The travel time required to trek all the way back to the exit point is going to take almost an hour. And right now, we don’t have the luxury of returning at a relaxed pace. There is an actual, lethal threat standing right in front of us!’
Terrence had already considered the likelihood that the System possessed profound, hidden knowledge, given how intensely and persistently it had been warning him ever since he stepped foot into this realm.
However, none of those abstract questions truly mattered right now. Even if he desperately wanted to uncover where the System originally came from, getting a concrete answer would be practically useless at this moment, since the interface was already bound to his soul and a fundamental part of his existence.
Hence, the only logical action he could take right now was to strictly obey the System’s urgent warning. It was clearly designed to ensure his personal survival.
’If this System is truly the creation of some higher, divine being, maybe I should just shut up and follow its instructions without questioning it.’
Accepting the conclusion that the System was indeed a product of divine intervention—which felt like the most logical explanation at this point—Terrence took a slow, extremely careful step backward.
He didn’t want to make any sudden movements that might trigger an immediate aggression response from the alien standing before them.
"Shino kamou? Smagano kamou sngadish?"
Terrence’s ears twitched sharply as the alien suddenly spoke.
’This alien... or should I call it a long-eared human... it actually talked?’
Indeed, the vocalizations were crisp and articulate, clearly formed using vocal cords in a manner remarkably similar to how humans spoke.
Standard wild beasts were vastly different. Their traits strictly mirrored their animal counterparts. Even though the Sky Dragon was an exceptionally rare anomaly, it still possessed physical reptilian features, meaning its biological foundation originated from a reptile lineage.
Similarly, while the Vampire Butler was a high-tier entity, it was still fundamentally classified as a beast because its core lineage was rooted in the bat family.
But this entity standing before him was actively trying to communicate—or rather, it was speaking a complex language that Terrence simply couldn’t understand.
"Smagano kamou! Shikaw, dirik ska stagadidi! Shimo skalibutansh sdire pa kguba!"
The crease between Terrence’s furrowed brows deepened significantly. The alien continued to speak with rising emotion, and though the words were completely foreign, Terrence could intuitively guess the underlying intent behind the tone.
’It’s demanding to know why I’m standing here.’
The long-eared human raised its arm and pointed its gleaming steel sword directly at Terrence’s chest, the refined edge of the blade proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was forged through advanced blacksmithing techniques.
"Grrr..." Noir let out a low, vibrating growl, shifting its center of gravity as it waited anxiously for Terrence’s direct command.
"Argh... I know exactly which world you came from!" the alien suddenly shouted, its voice magically shifting into clear, understandable human speech. "You should be thankful that your world hasn’t reached its final deadline yet! But since you dared to trespass here, you should just die!"
Terrence’s eyes widened in sheer shock as the world seemed to blur. In the very next split second, the cold tip of the sword was already thrusting directly toward his face. The sheer movement speed of the blonde, long-eared human was terrifyingly fast—easily comparable to Noir’s maximum speed.
CLANG!
Avery swooped in from the air and caught the lethal sword blade firmly between both of its small, scaled paws. Noir hovered directly beneath Avery’s flight path, instantly positioning itself to intercept any secondary attacks or stray energy slashes directed at Terrence.
Terrence nearly lost his footing from the wind pressure alone, but he quickly rebalanced his stance, instinctively leaning his body back to dodge the initial thrust.
The long-eared human let out an audible hiss of annoyance, violently pulling its sword back out from between Avery’s tight grip. Without missing a beat, the alien dashed around their perimeter in a silver blur, circling around to target Terrence’s exposed neck from behind.
Noir immediately unleashed a dark, high-speed Triple Slash, the black energy blades clashing against the steel sword to deflect the strike away from Terrence. Capitalizing on the moment, Avery raised both of its paws high into the air, attempting to crush their enemy with a heavy Smash!
A massive, translucent projection of a dragon’s claw slammed down onto the earth, creating a deep, cratered impact zone. The heavy claw print embedded itself deep into the shattered soil, but their agile target was no longer beneath it.
Terrence knew better than to blindly turn his back to an agile enemy, but he trusted his beasts with his life.
"Avery! Protect my rear guard! Noir, take the vanguard position! Make sure you lead us along the most efficient path back to the portal!"
The long-eared human didn’t immediately launch a follow-up attack. Instead, it reappeared effortlessly atop a high tree branch, perking up its pointed ears as it looked down at them with sharp, observant eyes.
"Did you seriously enter this realm without even knowing that this is already a dead world?" the alien sneered, its green eyes glowing with cold hostility. "Even so... anyone who dares to set foot inside a dead world without explicit permission deserves to die!"
’How the hell is it able to speak my language fluently now?!’
Terrence didn’t have the time or mental capacity to figure out the alien’s translation abilities. His entire focus was consumed by a single goal: dodge incoming attacks and sprint back to the top of that steep mountain slope.
Despite the extreme terrain difficulty waiting for him up ahead, he could not afford to ignore the System’s terrifying countdown warning.
"Fuck!"
Terrence abruptly halted his running momentum. If he kept blindly running in a straight line while being actively hunted like this, he would just end up completely distracted, creating even more dangerous openings for the enemy to exploit. There was no way he would be able to defend himself while scrambling up a steep, rocky slope, so they had to handle this threat immediately.
Avery let out a sharp, reassuring chirp directed straight at Terrence. The baby dragon swooped in and caught the alien’s sword once again, as the long-eared human grew noticeably more annoyed with every failed attack.
"What on earth are these beasts?!" the alien demanded, its voice laced with frustration. "Why are high-tier creatures obeying a mere human’s commands?!"
Terrence completely ignored the alien’s frantic question. His eyes momentarily met Avery’s sparkling gaze, receiving a clear, non-verbal message from his beast telling him to put absolute trust in them.
Avery let out another firm vocalization, clearly conveying that Terrence needed to stop worrying about the fight, trust his partners, and focus entirely on climbing back to the top of the slope.
Terrence swallowed hard, his lingering hesitation completely vanishing as he dug his boots into the dirt and kicked his legs forward with everything he had.
’I have powerful, reliable beasts fighting by my side! What the hell are you panicking for, Terrence?! Move!’
