Chapter 1162: Chapter 889: Warrior, Don’t Ask
After breaking free of the Cloud Monarch’s suppression, Gala immediately invoked Asmod’s authority, and, after compressing countless Souls, briefly recreated a wisp of the former Underworld great god Irigar’s Reflection.
Even if it would vanish in an instant, this torrent was no different from that power which came from a God!
So long as there are enough Souls, there is no Disaster in this world that Asmod cannot seize.
Though this ever-shifting authority did not truly fit Gala, his instincts as a warrior were enough to let him unleash Asmod’s destructive force to its utmost!
Now, a destruction nigh unto a Miracle Imprint descended here.
All-encompassing black-violet radiance spewed from the cracked Reflection’s mouth, in a heartbeat turning everything ahead into dust; vast and surging, it brought down Punishment from the Underworld.
Above the Kunpeng, Ying Fangzhou finally lifted his eyes.
His five fingers clenched tight.
In an instant, the ocean of hatred surged; the Seishui Spear, woven from Thunder, fell from the heavens—one, two, three, four...
Like colossal pillars dropping from the sky, they shrouded the front of the Town of Dusk, becoming a blazing bulwark.
Thunder and the light of Curses collided; the violent upheaval rippled across the entire Town of Dusk, making Huai Shi at the Central feel a wrenching pain like hallucination.
He sensed a vast tide of Source Substance being devoured without cease by the Cloud Monarch’s Sky Que and transformed into Thunder.
But then, beneath the Eternal Frozen Heart, amid the chaos of battle, a shrill Space Break exploded.
Hercules!
The legendary Hero of divine blood roared, cleaving down the Paladin before him; ignoring the Knight Group’s desperate assault all around, he planted his feet in the pool of blood, tore the longbow from his back, and drew a bead on the Kunpeng in the clouds.
Sharp as a blade, he seized that fleeting opening.
Arrows forged personally by a Great Grandmaster turned to a cold Moonlight upon the bowstring.
The Blessing of the Moon Goddess Selene descended, becoming Moonlight Arrows that shattered the minds of all enemies, plunging them into madness, loosed in utter silence toward the Sky Dome.
Only the quiver of the bowstring sounded, like the shrill wails of Souls.
The blood-moon arrow that plundered willpower tore apart clouds and storm in an instant, leaving a straight, dim streak; in a heartbeat, it was upon him—yet suddenly, it froze.
Suspended before Ying Fangzhou’s other palm.
Clamped by an invisible Power, wedged fast in the air.
Then a second shriek ripped out, a third... in the space of a finger-snap, six blood-moon arrows screamed through Space Break one after another, trembling violently, struggling, unable to advance an inch.
Ying Fangzhou’s left hand clenched.
The Moonlight Arrows shattered with a crack, and the five fingers of his left hand were sliced open by that edge, dozens of fissures crossing and recrossing, deep enough to bare bone.
Wild Curses twined about the wounds, writhing like thorns, burrowing swiftly inward.
Huai Shi reactivated the Casting Furnace.
Alchemy Fire flared from nothing, coiling about Ying Fangzhou’s hand, forcibly devouring the thorny Curse, transmuting it into crimson iron flakes that shed from the wounds.
Severing the lingering harm!
Yet Huai Shi’s vision blackened, the taste of blood rising in his throat.
Even with the double blessing of the Hand of Confinement and the Great Priestess’s Sun-born talent, such a hasty transmutation still dealt him no small shock.
He grit his teeth, lifting his hand again, wanting to impose further interference—when a filament of Thunder appeared from nothing, binding him in place.
Forbidding him to intervene again.
Amid the rumble, only the sound of spreading cracks could be heard.
Huai Shi raised his eyes, yet could not see that distant back clearly; he only felt that he could no longer restrain his fury!
At last, he personally felt the arrogance Luo Su had once spoken of...
"You’re still forcing yourself at this point, not letting anyone else step in?"
"What are you, some old nanny from a kindergarten?"
Huai Shi wrenched the binding Thunder apart and roared, "What the hell are you doing!"
"Doing what I ought to do."
A hoarse voice came through the thunder’s roar; Ying Fangzhou finally turned, looking back at that furious junior, and told him, "And you should do what you ought to, Huai Shi."
He said, "The rest is none of your concern—"
On that cracked face.
His gaze was so calm.
It was not the arrogance of one who sees no one else in his eyes, but a stubborn desire to hide everything important behind his own back...
To place it in the safest place!
Only thus could he fix his entire focus forward.
Only thus could he fulfill his mission.
Huai Shi’s movements faltered, freezing where he stood.
In the end, he slowly sat back down in his Seat.
A silent sigh.
Soon, the Eternal Frozen Heart faithfully conveyed the commands of its Tamer, setting the entire Town of Dusk in motion once more; unending streams of Power gathered into Huai Shi’s hands, under his control, and were poured into the Kunpeng’s projection.
The raging bull, the Pieta stag, the solemn White Horse, the resentful Raven... every Power of the Source Armament emerged from the clouds, becoming part of that blazing, ruthless radiance.
"This is all I can do for you, Ying Fangzhou."
Huai Shi said softly, "The rest, I’ll leave to you."
In that instant, on Ying Fangzhou’s cracked face, the corner of his mouth lifted, ever so slightly.
As if he were smiling.
So deeply gratified.
Good, Huai Shi.
So long as you do this, it’s enough!
"Please, watch closely." he said. "The things I can teach you—"
Are not those unworthy cautionary tales, nor some wandering fate that cannot be called success, nor a lonely waiting that yields nothing at all.
But the one thing in Ying Fangzhou’s life worth pride, the final remnant!
How to fight.
How to protect this world.
——How does one become the Cloud Monarch!
Encircled on every side, that solitary back once more raised his hand, clenching the Seishui Spear that stretched down from the thunderclouds, and thus stirred the winds and the clouds!
The Kunpeng spread its wings, the mighty song of whales echoed back from within the clouds.
Lightning flared once more!
It flew from Ying Fangzhou’s hand, becoming a razor edge that spanned hundreds and thousands of miles, piercing the black‑violet torrent, rending the Reflection of the God and illuminating Gala’s eyes.
Again it tore open a run‑through fissure across his chest.
Immediately, the thunder gathered anew, from his hand condensing into a heavy Long Spear several meters long; it turned, swept sideways, and drove back the rising Hercules.
A flash of searing thunderlight— the arrow of moonlight was shredded, Gala’s counterattack with it.
Midair, Hercules reached out and drew a Longsword blazing with radiance—"Offensive"!
In the distance Gala was reborn once more, Asmod’s authority descended anew, and a burning great star surfaced from nothingness, plummeting toward the Town of Dusk.
Heaven and earth roared.
Only thunderclouds ascended, hatred rolling like a storm.
Under the siege of the supreme Four Pillars and legendary Heroes, the Cloud Monarch of yore once more bared the Power with which he had watched over the Abyss and defended the Current Circumstances!
Within the illusory Temple, Zeus set down his wine cup in praise.
He gazed with solemn focus.
"In this age as well, there are Heroes such as this? A Soul so pure—truly worthy of awe."
"It is precisely in the age of men that Souls like this can exist, Zeus."
Tong Ji cupped her chin, murmuring softly: "He does not await the weak to approve him, nor does he rely on the Blessing of those stronger. This is something that can never be cultivated under the favor and shelter of Gods... a proud Soul."
Zeus shook his head. "It is hard to imagine—would such a solitary man die for others?"
"Of course. His Soul belongs to himself."
Tong Ji smiled. "Yet he chose to entrust that Soul to the Future he guards."
To entrust everything to those who come after him.
What remains is this radiance that continues to shine even in the darkest Abyss.
Like the stars.
"Do You see it, Zeus?"
She smiled as she told him, "The age of men is born from Souls such as this."
"The age of Gods has not yet descended into dusk, Tong Ji."
Zeus raised his eyes. "To speak of this now is still premature—"
In that instant, as his words fell.
Upon the earth, light flared once more.
From... the depths of the Town of Dusk!
Now, above the thunderclouds, in the dark cosmic Sky Dome, countless distant constellations suddenly erupted in dazzling brilliance!
A rainbow slowly rose from the earth.
From... Garand’s high tower!
Within the tormenting furnace of blood‑heat syndrome, the silent Great Grandmaster at last lifted his eyes, looking toward that colossal hand that clutched the sun‑disk, dragging it toward the earth.
"It is time to settle this, my friend—"
Beneath his feet, intricate Celtic runes surfaced and converged, encircling the decayed rope in his hand, endlessly siphoning Source Substance and Divine Nature, pouring them within.
Around the matrix, dozens of ancient Relics from the Celtic Genealogy—containers that once bore mighty Miracles of ages past—shattered one after another, while only the God‑wrought crystals rose like dust, gathering and fusing into the Lock Chain in Garand’s hand.
So that this rainbow that thrust up from the earth might extend toward the cosmos without end.
It pulled upon the light of the stars, swiftly drawing it toward this vast Disc World, until at last it became a resplendent river of stars, surging in majestic flood.
The long ritual finally neared its end.
At this moment, as Garand’s palm slowly rose, the ancient rope in his hand melded into the rainbow, stretching upward without limit; the unreal rainbow interwove with the coursing galaxy, forming a magnificent and grand spectacle beyond compare!
As though, by human hands, replacing the Power of God to tug upon the turning of the stars.
So that the Miracles of old might be reborn here.
Amidst the encircling bands of rainbow and galactic river, a single point of unmistakable radiance leapt out from the void, ceaselessly drawing in the light of the stars, burning fiercely!
In an instant, the entire world dimmed in its shadow.
Within this realm, aside from that sun‑disk which represented the God, only this one point of light endured.
Yet this radiance did not illumine all things; instead it grimly gathered all Power, letting only needle‑like thorns of light burst constantly from its outline, making the rainbow and the etheric galaxy quake.
Garand’s Mystic Ritual, the dozens of Stigmata Relics carried from the Current Circumstances, and every Miracle the Great Grandmaster could forge, even all the summoned entities of the Charlemagne Knight Group—each and every one offered up as sacrifice...
All destruction, all Power, were encompassed within that tiny point!
This was Garand’s counterattack!
In an era far distant in the past, one of the archetypes of humanity’s most ancient weapons, gathering all the might of the Danu God Clan, forged by the new Celtic God‑King as a force of annihilation.
A weapon that once slew the previous Ruler of the deep seas, the Evil Eye Master ’Balor’, and opened a wholly new age!
Its name—
——[Miracle Imprint·Luger’s Chain]!
Sensing within it the killing intent aimed at Publius, Hercules’s expression changed at once; disregarding Ying Fangzhou, whom he was besieging, he spurred the winged boots gifted by Hermes, racing back toward the tower of light.
Alas, he was already too late...
At the instant that point of radiance emerged, the casting‑rope shaped from rainbow and galaxy swiftly contracted and drew tight, as though gripped by an invisible hand that began to whirl it.
A massive gravity dragged upon that light‑point of "matter that no substance could approach," whirling it back from the desolate cosmos, gathering colossal Power.
Even a Lock Chain of the stars could not bear so weighty a thing, splitting open fissure after fissure.
At last, when the gravity woven by rainbow and galaxy utterly snapped, it burst into dazzling, bewildering brilliance, scattering to the four quarters.
And that projectile of radiance, which Scholars termed "super‑dense matter," at last traced a near‑negligible arc through the air, flying free from the collapsing gravitational casting‑rope!
In that instant, Death Perception rose in Huai Shi’s heart.
Even though this extinction merely brushed past him!
Straight as a line, it flew toward the distance!
