Apocalypse Online: I Awaken the Ultimate Bloodline
Chapter 33: Crimson CallSeana spun.
She ignored the three shadow illusions completely. Her sword drove straight toward the Phantom Hyena on her left.
The beast’s eyes widened.
CLANG!!
Sword and claw collided. The remaining three figures shattered into wisps of black mist, dissolving into the crimson rain.
The survivors in the background stared in disbelief. "She... she found the real one?"
The black-furred Phantom Hyena leaped backward, its body coiling low. For the first time, its predatory mask cracked, showing pure, unadulterated surprise.
Seana smiled faintly, wiping a drop of blood from her cheek. "You can’t hide your blood from me."
Not far away, Lothe crashed through another broken pillar, his body skidding across the stone before he forced himself back onto his feet.
Blood trickled from the corner of his lips. His ribs ached.
"...That hurt," Lothe muttered, tasting the iron on his tongue.
The gold-striped Phantom Hyena slowly approached him, its movements measured.
Lightning danced around its claws, outlining its formidable presence. Unlike before, it wasn’t rushing. It knew it held the advantage.
Lothe wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. Then, a cold smile touched his lips.
"You’ve been studying my rhythm this entire time, haven’t you?"
The beast growled, a low vibration in its chest.
"Good," Lothe said, his dark eyes glinting. "Now... it’s my turn."
Purple Qi quietly flowed into the Inferno Dragon Spear. The surrounding air began to shimmer—not from flames, but from intensely compressed heat.
Blazing Horizon Spear Art—Second Flow.
Lothe’s body vanished.
BOOM!!
The ground beneath his feet exploded into gravel, sending up a geyser of mud. The gold-striped hyena barely registered the blast before the tip of Lothe’s spear appeared directly before its throat.
It twisted, its body contorting unnaturally. The spear grazed its neck, tearing a thin line of skin.
The beast immediately retaliated, its claws sweeping downward.
Lothe’s spear rotated. Instead of blocking, he redirected the attack.
The claws slid harmlessly past him as he stepped inside the beast’s guard. The heavy butt of the spear slammed into its jaw.
BANG!
The enormous body staggered backward. Before it could recover, Lothe followed with three rapid thrusts—one aimed at its heart, one at its throat, and one at its eye.
The gold-striped hyena twisted with frightening agility, barely avoiding the fatal strikes. Yet, each attack tore a small, bleeding wound across its body.
Lothe smiled. "Now we’re even."
Back on Seana’s side, the black-furred Phantom Hyena released a furious roar.
Dark mist erupted from its body, and the shadows across the battlefield stretched unnaturally, rising like living tendrils.
Hundreds. No, thousands of shadow spikes shot toward Seana from every direction. She couldn’t dodge them all.
Immediately, blood surged upward from the pools at her feet, forming a rapidly spinning crimson barrier around her.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The spikes collided endlessly against the blood shield.
Fine cracks slowly spread across its surface.
Sweat beaded on Seana’s forehead. "...It’s stronger than I thought."
The barrier shattered. The remaining shadow spikes continued their lethal trajectory. Seana spun, her sword a crimson blur.
One slash. Two slashes. Five. Ten.
Crimson arcs filled the air, shattering shadow spikes one after another. Even so, a single spike slipped through her defenses.
Puchi!
It pierced her left shoulder. Dark blood flowed freely down her arm.
Melody, watching from behind, covered her mouth. "Senior Seana!"
The Phantom Hyena grinned, its black eyes glowing with cruel intelligence. It had finally wounded her.
Seana looked at the blood dripping down her arm. Instead of panicking, a soft, dry laugh escaped her lips.
"...Thank you."
The Phantom Hyena froze, its grin faltering.
The blood falling from Seana’s wound didn’t hit the ground. It floated.
One drop... then another... then hundreds. Every drop joined the blood already scattered across the battlefield.
The crimson sea began expanding, spreading across the shattered stone until it seeped beneath the Phantom Hyena’s feet. The beast instinctively tried to leap back, but it was too late.
The blood beneath it started spinning. Slowly at first... then faster. Faster. Faster.
Until it became a massive, churning crimson vortex.
Every survivor stared in shock. Even Professor Sy unconsciously took a step backward. "...What is she doing?"
Lothe glanced toward Seana for only a heartbeat while exchanging another brutal clash with the gold-striped leader.
Seeing the crimson vortex, a faint smile appeared on his face.
"So... you’ve figured it out."
The vortex continued compressing. Blood surged into the sky, twisting into razor-sharp forms.
One sword... two... ten... twenty... dozens of crimson swords slowly materialized above the battlefield.
Each radiated a terrifying, palpable sword intent. Each pointed directly toward the Black Phantom Hyena below.
Seana slowly raised one finger.
[Ding!]

Each sword carries a fraction of the user’s Blood Qi, allowing for precise, remote attacks.
• Qi Cost: Variable (Initial cost of 5 Qi to summon, 1 Qi per 5 swords maintained per minute. Cost reduces with Qi Control.)

The Phantom Hyena’s pupils shrank. For the first time since the battle began, a flicker of pure, animalistic fear appeared in its eyes.
The crimson swords trembled. Each blade hovered silently above the battlefield, their razor-sharp tips aimed at the Black Phantom Hyena below.
Blood Qi surged around them, causing the surrounding air to ripple under the overwhelming pressure.
The entire courtyard fell silent. Even the ordinary hyenas instinctively backed away. They could sense it.
Death.
Seana slowly lowered her raised hand.
"...Fall."
The world seemed to freeze.
Then—
BOOM!!
The sky turned red.
Hundreds of blood swords tore through the air like a heavenly punishment, each carrying terrifying force.
They rained down upon the Black Phantom Hyena from every direction, sealing every possible escape route.
The beast roared furiously. Dark energy erupted from its body, forming a dome of black mist around itself.
The first sword struck.
Bang!
Cracks spread across the barrier. The second followed. Then the third. The fourth. The fifth.
The impacts came faster and faster until they merged into one continuous, deafening explosion.
The entire academy courtyard shook violently.
"No way..." Daniel whispered, his eyes wide.
The black barrier continued resisting, but only for a moment.
Crack!
A tiny fracture appeared. Then another. Then dozens.
The Black Phantom Hyena’s eyes widened. It finally realized... it couldn’t stop them.
The barrier shattered. The remaining crimson swords rained down mercilessly.
Shhk! Shhk! Shhk!
One pierced its shoulder. Another tore through its abdomen.
Three more nailed its legs to the ground. The beast struggled desperately, roaring as dark Qi erupted wildly from its body.
But the swords never stopped. Each blade that struck released another burst of Blood Qi, forcing the next sword even deeper.
The battlefield became a prison of crimson steel.
The Black Phantom Hyena lifted its head and let out one final, agonizing roar.
Seana quietly closed her fingers, the immense strain of pushing her Qi to its limit visible on her pale face.
"End."
The very last sword descended.
Puchi!
It pierced straight through the beast’s forehead.
Silence.
The enormous body remained standing for a brief moment before collapsing heavily onto the shattered courtyard.
BOOM!
[You have slain a Level 3, Tier 2 Phantom Hyena.]
[Experience gained: 100 EXP.]
The countless blood swords dissolved into crimson mist before slowly returning to the pools of blood beneath them.
The battlefield stood frozen.
No one spoke.
No one breathed.
"...She..."
"...Killed it." Professor Sy stared silently at Seana, a mixture of awe and fear in his eyes. Even he wasn’t certain he could have survived that attack.
At that exact moment—
Lothe and the Gold-Striped Phantom Hyena continued exchanging blows. Their figures had become nothing but blurs.
Clang!
Bang!
Boom!
