Seana and Lothe separated instantly, Seana sliding low to the left while Lothe skidded across the asphalt to the right.

The dark-green scale spikes split midway through their trajectory. The screech of the pressurized projectiles cutting through the air sounded like iron grinding against iron—violent, shrill, and deafening.

Seana stomped her boot against the concrete and pivoted, twisting her body through the air as her blade met the incoming volley.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Sparks erupted in front of her eyes. Long before the apocalypse, her grandfather had forced her through brutal physical martial arts training before she fled her family. That muscle memory saved her life now.

CLANG!

She parried a high-speed spike, the kinetic shock traveling up her arms as the bone projectile shattered.

Bringing the [Blood Moon Sword] across her chest, she met a second heavy spike head-on, catching it on the flat of her blade. With a rapid flick of her wrist, she redirected the kinetic force into the pavement before swinging back and slicing the spike in two.

A dozen yards away, Lothe’s black spear moved like a spinning wheel.

The shaft whirled around his body in a continuous purple vortex, sweeping left and right.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The incoming scale spikes were smashed into powder.

Then—

Lothe’s dark eyes narrowed as his [Spatial Perception] flared with a fatal warning.

Still backstepping, he flipped cleanly through the air just as the crocodil’s colossal, armored tail whipped beneath him. The dense scales scraped violently across the asphalt, sending a wave of pulverized concrete and dust soaring thirty feet into the sky.

Before Lothe’s boots could even touch the ground, he found himself face-to-face with a pair of dark-green, reptilian pupils.

A thicker, darker scale spike—saturated with concentrated corrosive Qi—shot straight for his head.

Lothe brought the shaft of his spear up defensively.

CLANG!

"Ugh!"

The sheer physical kinetic force felt as though an iron anvil had slammed into his ribcage. The air was violently expelled from his lungs as his body was launched backward like a cannonball.

BOOM!

Lothe slammed deep into the street, concrete shattering beneath him in a massive dust explosion.

"Lothe!" Seana cried, turning toward him.

Before she could take two steps, the crocodil’s tail whipped around in a sweeping counter-attack.

BOOM!

The heavy tail struck her flank, sending Seana tumbling violently across the road.

Her head bounced off the concrete, her vision doubling instantly. Her grip on her sword loosened as ringing filled her ears. For a dizzying second, she couldn’t register her surroundings—Is that a giant serpent moving toward me?

She didn’t realize it was the beast’s tail sweeping back for a execution strike, dozens of razor-sharp scale spikes protruding from its hide.

CLANG!

Sparks exploded right above her face.

The harsh metallic impact snapped Seana back to reality. Her double vision vanished.

Lothe stood directly over her.

His black spear was crossed over his chest, blocking the massive tail, but the crocodilian had coiled its thick appendage tightly around the weapon’s shaft!

Seana didn’t waste a millisecond. She grabbed her sword, slid sideways, and brought her blade down with all her strength.

SHING! SHING!

Multiple blood-red crescents slammed into the tail, attempting to sever the muscle and free Lothe’s weapon.

To her horror, her high-tier crimson Qi barely left a white scratch on the dense, dark-green armor plates!

Instead, several scale spikes detached from the tail and launched straight toward her throat at point-blank range.

"Shit!"

Seana slammed her foot into the ground, executing an unnatural mid-air twist to dodge the lethal burst.

BOOM!

A heavy crash echoed behind her. She turned just in time to see Lothe thrown into the street once more as the tail violently whipped him across the asphalt, his spear leaving his hand.

Her heart hammered against her ribs. Worry flashed in her crimson eyes.

Desperate to break the beast’s focus, she grabbed the thrown shaft of a black spear, sliding beneath its trajectory and grabbing the metal edges with both hands to redirect it.

"Hiss!"

The razor-sharp edges sliced deep into her palms, blood spraying across her wrists.

BOOM!

She drove the spear forward, but the moment it collided with the thick green Qi layer surrounding the beast—

CRACK! SHATTER!

The weapon exploded into hundreds of useless metal fragments under the corrosive pressure.

Seana’s heart leaped into her throat. It can also do that?!

Her calculated tactical plan fell apart in an instant.

Across the chaotic boulevard, General Ashford and the elite team saw the danger, but they were swarmed by secondary waves of mutated beasts.

Worse, the crocodilian wasn’t focusing solely on Lothe and Seana—it was firing acid scale spikes toward the military evacuation corridor!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Acid spikes erupted from the ground, impaling soldiers and beasts alike. Nyren and Asher fought frantically, their ice and golden Sword Qi intercepting the projectiles before they could strike the transport helicopters.

High above, Daniel flew into the air, blood pouring from his nose and ears as he raised a ten-ton rock slab from the road. With a desperate, bloodcurdling roar, he hurled the rock at the crocodilian’s skull!

The beast didn’t even flinch. It twisted its torso mid-air, dodging the boulder easily, and lunged straight for the exhausted Daniel.

"Not on my watch!"

Adrian materialized in front of Daniel mid-air, his golden blade flashing in a blinding arc.

SHING!

The incoming tail strike was deflected. Daniel plummeted to the ground, collapsing onto his knees, his Qi Core completely drained.

"Get to the transport!" Adrian yelled, parrying another stray spike, sweat pouring down his face as he realized his own Qi reserves were rapidly approaching zero.

Nearby, Nyren and Asher fought side-by-side, their faces pale as paper from extreme energy exertion. Yet neither allowed a single spike to breach their defensive perimeter.

Asher glanced at Nyren. Frost coiled around her slender frame, her [Sub-Zero Glacial Domain] freezing incoming projectiles mid-air before shattering them.

She’s incredible, Asher thought, a grim smile touching his lips as he unleashed another crescent of golden Sword Qi.

Meanwhile—

"Are you insane?!"

Lothe grabbed Seana’s wrists, staring at the deep cuts bleeding across her palms.

"I’m fine," Seana said quietly.

She could hear the raw, terrifying anger in his voice. He wasn’t angry at her for failing the attack—he was furious at her for hurting herself to save him.

Lothe didn’t care that his Common-grade black spear had been shattered into junk. What burned his soul was seeing her blood on the pavement.

"What are you going to use for a weapon now?" Seana asked, looking at the splintered metal fragments scattered on the street.

The thirty-meter crocodile stood twenty yards away, its dark-green pupils watching them quietly, almost mockingly, as if waiting for their next pathetic move.

"So what if the spear broke?" Lothe’s voice dropped into an icy, lethal register. "It’s just a tool. Why should a piece of metal dictate whether I live or die?"

He locked his gaze onto the giant beast.

"It served its purpose."

RIPPLE!

The spatial atmosphere around Lothe began to violently vibrate.

One translucent, razor-sharp Spatial Blade condensed in the air. Then five. Then twenty. Within seconds, dozens of glowing purple Spatial Blades hovered in an orbital ring around his body!

Seana looked at him, her crimson eyes softening before sharpening into pure resolve. "Right."

Crimson Blood Qi swirled around her [Blood Moon Sword], coating the steel in an intense red aura. "Let’s take it down together."

Lothe moved first.

The ring of Spatial Blades rotated around him as he sprinted toward the crocodilian like a purple meteor.

Seana launched herself into the sky right behind him.

Below her, every pool of blood on the ruined boulevard began to tremble. The crimson liquid rose into the air, churning violently, gathering behind her in a massive, floating lake.

"What... what is that?" a student on the evacuation line stammered.

"Look at the sky!"

General Ashford paused mid-strike, utter disbelief flashing across his face. "What kind of skill is that girl using?!"

Asher stood frozen. Even Nyren looked up, her gray eyes widening.

Behind Seana, thousands of crimson swords forged from condensed blood materialized out of the floating liquid, forming a terrifying, scarlet army spanning fifty meters across the sky!

[Technique: Crimson Call]

[First Form: Blood Call]

Seana pointed her dark steel blade directly at the crocodilian’s head.

"Fall."

WHOOSH!

Seana dived from the clouds, and thousands of blood swords plunged alongside her in a crimson avalanche!

At the same time, Lothe reached the beast’s front line, his entire frame enveloped in violent purple Qi and twisting spatial distortions.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The crocodil’s green eyes shrank. For the first time since the battle began, a flicker of genuine shock flared within its pupils.

VRMMMMMM!

Dense green Qi erupted from its body as its dark scales overlapped, forming an impenetrable, fortress-like barrier of dark-green scales around its head and torso.

Lothe’s Spatial Blades and Seana’s thousands of blood swords slammed into the green scale barrier simultaneously!

*BOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOM!*

A apocalyptic shockwave leveled every standing wall within fifty yards. Cracks spider-webbed across the crocodilian’s scale barrier, but the thick defense held!

The beast counter-attacked immediately.

It lunged forward with open jaws toward Lothe, while its massive tail whipped toward Seana’s mid-air trajectory.

Lothe landed, his [Spatial Perception] operating at maximum capacity. He dodged the initial jaw snap and thrust his hands toward the space surrounding the beast.

RIPPLE!

The air around the crocodilian violently distorted. The spatial coordinates locked up.

The beast’s rapid movement suddenly slowed—then stopped completely!

Lothe’s eyes flashed with purple light. Got you!

For a fraction of a second, he thought he had locked the monster in a spatial stasis.

Then, the crocodil’s massive muscles bulged. Its dark-green Qi flared, shattering the spatial lock!

Lothe’s eyes widened. "Shit!"

PAWWWW!

A colossal, five-toed armored claw slammed down toward his head!

Lothe threw both hands forward, pouring every drop of his remaining purple Qi into a concentrated spatial shield.

BOOOOOOM!!

The heavy claw smashed into the translucent shield.

Lothe’s boots plowed two deep trenches into the concrete. His arm muscles trembled, veins bulging against his skin. "Hold...!"

CRACK!

A massive fissure split the center of his spatial shield.

Lothe’s pupils shrank. "What the—"

CRACK! CRACK! SHATTER!

The spatial barrier exploded into purple dust!

The crocodilian’s green Qi surged through the breach, its razor-sharp claws driving straight through his guard!

SLASH!

Blood sprayed into the air.

Three deep, terrifying gashes tore across Lothe’s chest, shredding his Shadow Weave clothes and carving deep into his flesh!

"LOTHE!" Seana’s horrified scream rang out across the entire boulevard.

Lothe staggered backward, gasping for air as fresh blood soaked his torso.

Before he could reset his stance, the beast’s secondary claw swept across his flank!

BOOM!

The kinetic blow hit him like a speeding train.

Lothe was launched through the air, skipping across the asphalt once, twice, three times—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

He crashed through three concrete barriers, coming to a rest inside a smoking crater at the edge of the street.

"Lothe!"

Seana turned to sprint toward him, but a massive, dark shadow instantly swallowed her position.

The thirty-meter crocodilian stood over her, its green, reptilian eyes burning with lethal hunger.

Seana slowly raised her [Blood Moon Sword], her hands trembling slightly as the monster opened its massive, blood-dripping jaws.

And inside the distant crater—

Lothe, drenched in his own blood, desperately pushed himself up with raw, unyielding willpower. His vision was spinning, his ribs broken, his lungs burning with every breath.

Through the haze of blood blocking his vision, he saw the crocodil’s jaws opening above Seana.

Lothe’s dark eyes turned pure, terrifying purple.

"SEANA—!!"

The beast lunged downward.
