Splat!

Lothe fell through the torn fabric of space, Seana held securely in his arms.

Behind them, the spatial tear twisted violently before shrinking and closing.

Ping!

[You have killed a Level 5, Tier 1 Beast King: Crocodilian.]

[You have absorbed its Qi.]

[EXP Gained: 300.]

[You have reached the threshold for leveling up and system upgrade.]

[Upgrade and breakthrough commencing.]

[5%... 10%... 20%... 55%... 100%.]

[You have successfully leveled up to Level 5, Tier 1.]

Purple system notifications flashed across Lothe’s vision, but he ignored them for the moment.

He adjusted Seana in his arms and looked down at her.

The blood and exhaustion no longer distorted her features. Her face had regained its usual beauty, and her chest rose and fell steadily.

She was still breathing.

Lothe released a quiet breath of relief before looking around.

They were inside an unfamiliar dark space. He eventually found a wall and sat down against it, carefully positioning Seana beside him.

Ping!

[System upgrade complete.]

[New authority unlocked: System Title.]

[Class and Subclass options have been unlocked.]

Lothe’s eyes narrowed.

The system interface before him had changed. The familiar blue screen had disappeared, replaced by elegant purple characters that seemed to carry a strange sense of authority.

His gaze immediately settled on the new title option.

What is this?

"System, show me the title options."

Ping!

[Analyzing Host’s Core Superpower, Passive Abilities, and Techniques.]

[Three titles have been analyzed.]

——————————

[TITLE OPTIONS]

• Void Spear Sovereign System:

A cultivation path centered on spear mastery and spatial authority. Grants balanced growth between Void Spear techniques and spatial abilities.

• Spatial Warlock System:

A cultivation path focused entirely on manipulating space, including portals, spatial distortion, imprisonment, and spatial destruction. Extremely high Qi consumption.

• Void Monarch System:

A forbidden cultivation path that seeks dominion over the Void itself. Requirements unknown.

[Notice: The Host’s title choice will determine the Host’s cultivation path.]

——————————

"Hmm?"

Lothe stared at the three options.

The word ’cultivation’ immediately caught his attention.

The concept felt foreign, yet strangely familiar. Despite his calm expression, excitement was already cursing through his blood.

Who wouldn’t want to cultivate and eventually ascend?

Still, he wanted to understand exactly what the system meant.

"System, what is cultivation?"

Ping!

[Cultivation is the ability of a being with sufficient perception to sense the raw Qi of Heaven and Earth, channel it through their meridians, and refine it.]

[This process strengthens the body, sharpens the five senses, increases Qi capacity and control, and allows cultivators to unleash their power through techniques.]

Lothe stared at the explanation.

He didn’t need to read much more. He understood the basic concept.

So that’s what cultivation is.

His gaze returned to the three titles.

If the title determined his cultivation path, then choosing the right one was extremely important.

The ’Void Spear Sovereign System’ would allow him to develop both his spatial abilities and spear techniques. It offered balanced growth.

The ’Spatial Warlock System’ focused almost entirely on spatial manipulation. If he chose it, his spatial abilities would probably evolve to terrifying levels—but the Qi consumption would also be enormous.

Then there was the ’Void Monarch System’.

A forbidden path with unknown requirements.

Lothe narrowed his eyes.

Anything described as forbidden usually comes with a price.

He remembered his previous battles.

His spatial abilities were overwhelmingly powerful, but they consumed an enormous amount of Qi. What would happen if he faced an opponent with equally terrifying abilities and far greater reserves?

Once his Qi ran dry, overwhelming power meant nothing.

His spear techniques, however, consumed considerably less Qi. He could use them as his main form of combat and rely on spatial abilities when he needed greater power or control.

The more he thought about it, the clearer his decision became.

The first option suited him best.

"System."

Lothe’s gaze hardened.

"I choose the first option."

Ping!

[Host has successfully chosen a cultivation path.]

[The Host’s Core Superpower and spatial abilities have formed the Void Spear Sovereign path.]

Suddenly, an immense force pulled at Lothe’s consciousness.

His vision blurred.

For a brief moment, it felt as though his entire mind had been dragged somewhere beyond his body.

Then—

He opened his eyes.

[Welcome to the Host’s Soul Manor.]

Lothe slowly looked around.

His eyes widened slightly.

The land stretched so far that an entire city could have been built across it. Above him, the sky was covered in beautiful purple twilight, while the grass beneath his feet was purple and released faint streams of violet mist.

Lothe lowered his gaze.

His feet rested gently against the soft grass.

"So soft."

He took another step before stopping.

He could sense it.

The air was filled with an incredibly dense form of Spiritual Qi. Every breath seemed to draw energy into his body.

Before he could examine the place further—

WHOOSH!

The Spiritual Qi throughout the manor suddenly began rushing toward its center.

More and more energy gathered. The streams of purple Qi became denser until they condensed into a glowing purple orb.

Lothe stared at it.

Then a strange force pulled him forward.

His feet left the ground, and his body shot toward the orb.

Lothe reached out.

His fingertip touched its surface.

BOOM!

The orb instantly dispersed.

Letters formed in the air before him.

[Void Spear Art — Level 1]

Lothe’s eyes widened.

The moment he focused on the information, his consciousness was dragged into another space.

A figure stood before him, dressed in a long purple robe. A black spear rested in its hand.

The figure slowly raised the weapon.

Then—

THRUST!

It was an ordinary-looking spear thrust.

But Lothe’s pupils contracted.

Space trembled around the spearhead. An intense spatial force wrapped around the weapon, twisting the air and distorting the world around it.

Even though the image was blurry, Lothe could sense the terrifying power hidden within that simple attack.

And this is only Level One?

His heart pounded.

How powerful does this technique become at higher levels?

The image slowly faded, and Lothe’s consciousness returned to the Soul Manor.

He looked around once more.

Aside from the massive purple landscape and the glowing orb at its center, there didn’t seem to be much else.

He’ll investigate this place properly later.

With a thought, Lothe opened his eyes and returned to reality.

The first thing he saw was Seana.

She was staring at him.

Not casually.

She was looking at him as if she had just seen something that shouldn’t exist.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lothe asked, frowning.

Then he looked down at himself.

"Uh?"

He froze.

His old clothes were gone.

His body was covered by a long purple silk robe decorated with faint silver patterns. It looked like something taken straight from an ancient cultivation world.

But that wasn’t what had caught Seana’s attention.

It was his face.

Seana had seen plenty of handsome men throughout her life.

But Lothe now looked completely different.

His sharp eyebrows slanted elegantly toward his temples. His nose was straight and perfectly sculpted, while his dark eyes resembled bottomless abysses with countless stars hidden within them.

His lips formed a thin, flawless line, giving him an aloof and untouchable appearance.

He looked contradictory.

Pure yet mysterious.

Elegant yet dangerous.

Noble yet lazy.

The purple robes only enhanced the strange aura around him.

One word immediately surfaced in Seana’s mind.

Demon.

She quickly looked away.

If I keep staring, I’m probably going to get a nosebleed.

"Ahem."

She coughed awkwardly.

"I...I need to break through. See you later."

She didn’t wait for Lothe to respond. Seana immediately closed her eyes and opened her system interface.

Lothe watched her reaction.

A faint smirk appeared on his face.

He could tell exactly what had happened, but he decided not to tease her.

There were still too many things he needed to understand.

His thoughts shifted toward the newly unlocked class option. He looked at the purple system interface.

"System."

The purple characters flickered before him.

"Show me the classes."
