Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person
Chapter 485 - 434: Who Dares Disobey?"If you’re not willing to be friends with me, I won’t stay. I can take my brothers, get in the car, and return the way we came right now!"
After speaking, Zhang Su saw the members of Survivor Alliance looking at each other, clearly without anyone to make a decision. So he pointed forward.
"Survivor Alliance is like a headless dragon. I see this brother seems to have some leadership qualities. Why not step forward and make a decision for everyone? Who’s not convinced?"
Who’s not convinced?
Who the hell dares to be unconvinced—anyone unconvinced turns sour!
Members from Vanguard Corps’ second team and Search Team three looked at each other and then at Zhang Xin, nodding or shrugging their shoulders. The meaning was clear: if you think it’s okay, go ahead...
"Alright, since nobody has objections, this brother, what’s your name? Got any issues?"
Zhang Su asked, feigning seriousness.
Zhang Xin stood aside with his third team’s men, seeing the scene unfold with a peculiar expression on his face.
As the captain of the third team of Vanguard Corps, he ranked second among the remaining personnel. Truly, he could step forward to lead everyone, but he had no such intention...
In Zhang Xin’s view, as the top leaders of Survivor Alliance have been eliminated, the alliance will soon be divided and consumed by nearby forces. He will take a few brothers to join Celestial Horse Island.
Now, Zhang Su seems to use fierce will to appoint him as leader; he must seize the opportunity tightly!
"My name is Zhang Xin, captain of the third team of Vanguard Corps. Since everyone trusts me and there’s a need for someone to step up, I’ll take the lead for now and see what’s the situation. Hopefully, King Yama won’t go back on his word!"
Zhang Xin talked eloquently, cooperating fully mainly because he had a relationship with Zhang Su, making him less afraid.
"Rest assured, Celestial Horse Island never deceives friends. Discuss now and make your decision!"
Zhang Su waved his hand, jumping down from the ceiling, and walked straight to Li Zongkai, patting his shoulder and smiling: "Chairman Li, long time no see! Oh, your fine clothes are torn!"
Li Zongkai looked at his clothes ripped during his frantic escape earlier and shook his head with a bitter smile: "Mr. Zhang, since we parted, I never thought we’d meet again in such circumstances. Sorry I couldn’t help and even caused trouble for you, truly ashamed!"
Civilization Guardian members stood beside Li Zongkai, aside from the five with Wu Daqiang and Big Head who originally followed Li Zongkai. Others looked at Zhang Su curiously, this ruthless and decisive leader of Celestial Horse Island, King Yama.
They knew their boss intended to hand over the entire force to the person in front of them, and those standing here had no objections, naturally sparking their curiosity about Zhang Su.
"How can you say you’ve not helped, just some distant words!"
Zhang Su spoke while making a hand gesture. Though others didn’t understand, Li Zongkai did.
Then he looked at the unfamiliar faces beside Li Zongkai and continued: "These brothers chose to follow you under pressure; they’re all on our side. What about those who chose to leave Civilization Guardian?"
Everyone present had the opportunity to make a choice, except those who chose to leave Civilization Guardian. They used up their chance!
Wu Daqiang and others looked tensely at Li Zongkai. Deep inside, they hoped to give those brothers a chance, having spent so much time together. But they knew it was unlikely.
Not to mention the pressure from Zhang Su, even Li Zongkai himself had very low tolerance for traitors.
Li Zongkai shook his head: "Since they chose to leave Civilization Guardian, they’re free to go wherever!"
Zhang Su smirked, nodded: "Alright, then leave this matter to me!"
"About that..."
Li Zongkai smiled awkwardly: "Mr. Zhang, you wouldn’t...?"
He didn’t finish the sentence, using his eyes to question Zhang Su.
Zhang Su knew Li Zongkai thought he might kill and patted his shoulder: "Don’t worry. As long as they truly have no issues, I won’t make it hard for them."
The decision to leave Civilization Guardian involved impulse; before, understanding someone’s intentions was difficult and required thorough questioning and psychological probing. Now it’s simpler. He turned his gaze to Ju Mumio, who had no noticeable presence among the crowd.
Feeling Zhang Su’s gaze, Ju Mumio met his eyes calmly, shrugging as if to say: No big deal!
"Fan Dahai, stop hanging around here and go find your commander!"
Zhang Su noticed the tall and thin Fan Dahai among the crowd, cheerfully without any hostage awareness, even carefree.
With a swish, the Dog Leg Military Saber sliced through the ropes binding Fan Dahai’s hands and mouth.
With a simple move, Fan Dahai’s smile froze as the cold blade grazed his skin, giving him goosebumps. Once free, he quickly touched his cheek, finding no injuries, he grinned: "Thanks, King Yama, for the mercy. Thank you! Thank you!"
Fan Dahai relaxed after Zhang Su thwarted the plot’s aftermath. Hearing Zhang Su’s command to find Yang Xinqi, he enthusiastically ran to the other side.
After handling Fan Dahai’s matter, Zhang Su glanced at Luo Yongzhan, who was being pressed by Liu Tianji and Guo Dachao, and beckoned: "Bring him over."
Walking despondently, Luo Yongzhan approached Zhang Su. Though taller, he didn’t dare meet Zhang Su’s gaze, standing with his head down, unsure of the judgment awaiting.
"First, untie him."
Zhang Su gestured.
Soon, Luo Yongzhan’s restraints were removed. He rubbed his stiff arms, still without words.
Zhang Su looked at Ju Mumio, Ju Mumio shook her head calmly.
"What’s your name?"
With preliminary judgment of no hostility, Zhang Su thought it okay to probe further.
"Luo, Luo Yongzhan."
Luo Yongzhan replied, head lowered.
"Guard Team is mostly dead, your leader is gone. What are your thoughts?"
Zhang Su clasped his hands behind his back, simultaneously glancing at the bustling group nearby.
Luo Yongzhan’s mouth twitched involuntarily, finding the question abstract. His eyelids flickered slightly, glancing at Zhang Su, then elsewhere: "I haven’t sorted things out, no thoughts yet..."
"Hmm, my question was poor, let me rephrase: Aren’t you planning on revenge?"
"Revenge?" Luo Yongzhan frowned slightly, then shook his head gently: "Even if I want to, I don’t have the capability... Besides, I don’t want to!"
"Oh?"
Zhang Su was slightly surprised, about to speak when a voice came from behind a nearby car.
"Xiaoluo was a police officer before, with a strong sense of justice. Unlike me, if I’d known the dirty deeds by Liao Youzhi earlier, I would’ve left the alliance, if not defected!"
Wu Baokang slowly stood, his arms still bound tightly, but the rope around his mouth had vanished, presumably freed by his own effort.
"Biochemical weapons are always zero-tolerance, evil weapons. I never expected Liao Youzhi to have such things."
Luo Yongzhan’s face showed agitation; while everyone worked hard to fight zombies, what was Liao Youzhi doing? Researching a weapon to turn people into zombies?
"Oh, turns out you’re a righteous one!"
Zhang Su felt the evaluation was abstract. He drew his knife, motioning to Wu Baokang: "Old Wu, your performance today was excellent. Let’s untie you first!"
Wu Baokang approached Zhang Su with an odd expression and reminded: "King Yama, remember the promise. You said you’re true to your word and never break trust!"
With two swift moves, Zhang Su cut off the rope and cable ties binding Wu Baokang, nodding: "You were merely obeying Liao Youzhi’s orders. Every grievance has its debtor; the mastermind is gone, so let’s wipe the slate clean for you."
Wu Baokang flexed his numb arms, frowning in confusion: "From what I heard Vice Leader Gong say, you two seem acquainted. How come..."
Seeing Zhang Su burn the two groups with chains and flames surprised him. Liao Youzhi’s group’s demise made sense, but Gong Chengming’s death was puzzling.
"I have no time to explain. You’re the last two from Guard Team, have a chat and plan for the future!"
Zhang Su patted Wu Baokang’s shoulder, then walked toward the gathered crowd.
