After arranging Huayang’s matters, Su Huan was just about to investigate who was so audacious when he saw an unusual message pop up on his terminal.
Since Professor Ma cracked the communication devices, everyone has a terminal for daily contact and to apply for, approve various matters, essentially the online process for managing the Armed Train.
Few people on the train can bypass this process, with the conductor being the only one who consistently does.
However, his processes are often supplemented by Shu Wei and Hu Shuo, and using the terminal to issue commands is quite rare for him.
Even fewer people send him messages through the terminal; those with permission usually meet with him in person, and those without permission generally have no reason to contact him.
Looking at the sender of the message, Su Huan suddenly remembered there actually was someone who couldn’t meet him offline conveniently.
Tongzhou Association, Zhang Qiang.
Regarding two things mentioned: Under his guidance, the Tongzhou Association shifted from forcibly taking the train to truly rowing in the same boat, protecting themselves.
After all, the former scenario involves direct confrontation with the conductor, which is a fearful and desperate situation for most people.
Not to mention Tier Four, even those in Tier Three wouldn’t feel they have the slightest chance of winning.
So the Tongzhou Association, with the conductor’s tacit approval, developed over a year, with only a dozen people remaining after several great battles, with personnel basically all replaced except for the most senior Zhang Qiang.
After the association’s purpose and guidelines shifted, their numbers quickly grew to over twenty people.
With an increase in numbers, various ideas started to emerge.
Some wanted more resources, some wanted to climb up, some wanted to replace Zhang Qiang as the "President."
This led to an activity: raising funds.
The method involved utilizing personnel from different departments, skimping on quality, replacing a batch of materials on the train, followed by a detailed list of personnel allocation and specific action times.
His dark eyes momentarily stilled, "...Funds are being raised on this old man’s head."
He thought about it, an interesting idea arose spontaneously; should he let them succeed?
This batch of materials isn’t large, but could allow the Tongzhou Association to fill their basin, thoroughly establishing themselves at the lower levels of the train; however, in doing so, he as the conductor might appear quite a fool.
Should he call it to a halt?
That would certainly dampen everyone’s enthusiasm.
Perhaps...
A mischievous thought began to take shape in Su Huan’s mind. He picked up the terminal, enthusiastically started typing a reply.
...
Su Han looked at herself in the mirror, wearing a set of black work uniforms, making her face look even paler. She flicked away the water spots on her collar, finally satisfied, walking towards the dining car.
Compared to other skirts or clothes, she preferred this uniform custom-made by the Little Box for the crew the most, although the badge on it indicated she was only a Level 1 Flight Attendant, it represented that her abilities were acknowledged by everyone.
On the train, this identity was second only to her name.
She arrived at the dining car, her eyes scanning a round behind the steamy cabinet, then respectfully called out "Mother."
Yu Yue holding a ladle, with her little finger brushing aside the stray hair by her ear, smiling gently, "Why up so early today?"
"In the morning Sister Wan Xing will teach me how to make potions, and in the afternoon, Teacher Hu said he’d introduce me to a new teacher, so I got up early."
"Such a good girl, help Xiaoya wash her hands first please, my bone soup is almost ready, we’re having boned soup noodles this morning."
Yu Yue’s wrist rotated, the ladle carried out a gorgeous white line from the pot.
"Okay!"
Thinking about the tasty meal soon, Su Han’s spirit heightened considerably.
"Sister Xiaohan!"
Xiaoya called out crisply.
"Hmm na."
Su Han went over to the sink, picked up a struggling-to-reach-the-sink Xiaoya and set her on a chair, carefully washing her little hands, then gently blew on the little grass on top of her head, Xiaoya giggled.
The breakfast table usually only consisted of her and Yu Yue, and just recently this grassy-headed little girl had been added.
When she first came, she was thin and pitiful.
Now she’s much plumper, and her smiles are really lovely, much like the children she once cared for.
However, Xiaoya’s surname isn’t Su, it’s Yu.
Yu Xiaoya.
Like her, she called Yu Yue ’mother,’ but differed in how she addressed Su Huan.
Xiaoya could only call him "conductor."
But clever Su Han didn’t bring up this matter, instead tacitly accepting that’s just the way things are.
After a while, Yu Yue brought two big bowls of steaming bone soup noodles, topped with over a dozen different kinds of fungi, with light mushroom aroma wafting directly into the nose.
Yu Yue divided some into a small bowl for Xiaoya, then walked over to Su Han, helping her tie her hair into a ponytail again.
Having finished breakfast, Su Han headed straight to the potion room.
Although Wan Xing’s decomposition workshop has been moved to the cultivation pod at the back, she’s lazy about moving house, so the living area remains on the potion room’s second floor.
Su Han knocked on the door, inside Wan Xing responded painfully.
The young lady let out a mild sigh.
Seems like she’ll have to wait again...
After a full ten minutes, Wan Xing, wrapped up in thick pajamas, opened the door, yawned, then fell back onto the bed.
The room was chaotic, with all walls packed full with potion cabinets, a few brightly colored transparent fiberglass containers stacked on the side, and in the corner, on a small operating table was a heap of square and round metal badges, piled into a small mound which, upon closer inspection, showed some order.
The bed, though, was unsightly; Wan Xing, seen diving onto it earlier, had vanished without a trace, leaving all sorts of plush toys rolling off the headboard, filling the entire bed.
