Armipotent

Chapter 2268: Starting the Experiment (1)

The first three days in the abandoned world were the most boring period for Tang Shaoyang. He did nothing but monitor the situation. Ensuring their safety when they went out, doing his best to minimize the casualties. He tried to maintain his image with zero casualty expeditions.

There was never a casualty in his expedition, and he was not going to change that in this expedition. On the first day, reports started to stack on his table. Most of the reports were about the Administrator’s findings regarding the Calamity Creature in this world.

Not that he read it, as Ira would tell him the details. Black Ape occupied the area near the fort, and they were similar to a troll. They had the physical strength of God Rank, crazy regeneration as they could regrow their hand in less than a minute, Black Ice Elemental Power that seemed to contain mild void poison, and the only way to kill it was to destroy the heart. As long as the heart was still beating, the ape would regenerate. Even if their head was cut, the head would regrow in less than a minute.

The second calamity was Black Hawk. The hawk was the size of a human adult with almost a four-meter wingspan. It had razor-sharp feathers, and one of its skills was to create a field of Black Snow Storm. The snowstorm also contained a mild Void Poison.

It was categorized as mild because it didn’t immediately take effect like when he put his energy directly into someone else. It was slow, slowly corrupting the energy channels. Based on their analysis, this void poison had a chance to turn someone into a calamity.

That was why Tang Shaoyang had to return to Earth to get more cure for Void Poison. Of course, he didn’t give them for free. He sold the antidote at market price. When he said market price, he was selling at the same price as the Cladeos Emporium’s selling price.

The Cladeos Emporium was the only one with the exclusive right to sell TEAA’s potion and antidote in the God Realm. Their collaboration met with positive results as the Cladeos Emporium was helping the Tang Empire to get more rare materials, whether it was ore, herbs, or even good-quality artifacts.

Knowing the Tang Empire looked at the dragon favorably, they kept an eye on the auction and market sale of the Dragon Bloodline and Dragon Egg to resell them back to the Tang Empire. The emporium tried its best to give more benefits to maintain the collaboration.

So yeah, that was the reason why he didn’t sell the antidote cheaper. He told the Administrator to prepare the antidote themselves in the future, telling them they could buy it from the Cladeos Emporium.

The third calamity close to the fort was Snowman. As its name implies, it was a creature made of snow and humanoid. However, it was an Elemental Calamity type, and it was harder to kill than the ape. They must destroy the core to kill the Snowman. The harder part was the fact that this calamity could move the core at their will. It would be tricky to destroy this core.

Unfortunate for the Administrators who joined to gain experience in fighting calamity, they met the worst type of calamity. First, they were delayed because they didn’t have the antidote for void poison. Second, their first enemy in this abandoned world was tricky, all of them.

Fighting the hawk in the sky was stupidly hard because of how fast and flexible they were in the air. On top, they had this skill that was almost similar to teleportation. They were just so fast that it looked like teleportation.

The ape moved in a big group; fighting them required patience, and it was so slow since they had to destroy the heart. A wound on the body would not do anything aside from slowing them for a few seconds.

Most Administrators avoided the snowman entirely as they had the ability to blend with the snow. Then they had to destroy the moving core on top. That was why the administrator avoided it, except for Team Kalisto, who took that path. Another team that went further was Krazon’s team. The dragon-kin plowed through the Black Ape’s territory.

That left the remaining team to struggle, including the Red Team. Even Khaya, who was known as Snow Elf, was struggling. Three days passed just like that, and that was when Tang Shaoyang was allowed to make his move.

"We need to pick our guard duty..."

As usual, he would pick five spirits to guard the fort in his stead, and it was not he who chose them. It was the spirit who decided it among themselves. The Skelly Family was also included, but they just guarded the fort two missions ago, so they were not part of the ballot this time.

[It’s your knights’ turn!] Karan announced the winner.

It was Jovrick the Forsaken Infernal Knight, Gianni the Hurakan Legion Commander II, Nikolas the Hurakan Legion Commander IV, Mathias the Hurakan Legion Commander VI, and Ruben the Valiant Soldier.

Tang Shaoyang summoned them all, "As usual, you can have fun around, but you must leave some for the other Administrators."

"I am at ease to leave the fort in your guys’ hands."

Those were genuine words from him. The previous guards were unreliable, not as responsible as these five knights. He believed they would not make a mess, such as attracting a ridiculously strong calamity to the fort, just like what Doombringer the Calamity Behemoth did before.

After summoning the five spirits, Tang Shaoyang left the fort, leaving a message for Ira and Khaya. He was telling them that he would start moving, taking some action. That was a warning that they must act faster if they wanted to kill more calamities. If he started to make his move, they would get fewer calamities to kill.

Tang Shaoyang was not wandering aimlessly. He had sent his spirits out the first day, scouting the world for him. The spirit’s task was to find the inhabitants of Rank 9, Rank 10, and Rank 11 Calamities. Three days should be enough to find these places, and he was right about it.

Zephyr the Black Wind Calamity had found the home of Rank 11 Calamity. Following his connection to his spirit, he rushed toward where Zephyr was. He didn’t use Spirit Switch to switch places because Zephyr still needed to go to another Rank 11 Calamity territory. She found three, and Tang Shaoyang was currently going to one of them.

On the way to meet Zephyr, Tang Shaoyang summoned Zara. The Monster Lair Project depended on Zara to determine whether she could make a portal gate or not. She needed to make a portal gate to Arnain, an empty world he won from the War of Worlds.

The project could only be started when she succeeded in making a portal gate to Arnain from an abandoned world. That was the only way for him to move the Demonic Calamity. He could use the Administrator Space as a short stop before moving them out with him, but that would attract unwanted attention.

Tang Shaoyang wanted to keep the project secret, as he was creating an army of Demonic Calamity. He did not want this project leaked, especially to the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order. The surprise effect was necessary, catching them off guard.

"How is it?"

"Hmm..." Zara seemed unsure, trying to feel something out, "I think it’s possible, but I can only try when we stop moving."

It took fifteen minutes to reach where Zephyr was. She was cruising in the sky around a mountain. The mountain was tall. The peak was covered by the dark cloud, but Tang Shaoyang could see a massive silhouette beyond the cloud.

Zephyr told him that the creature was a bird, a giant bird. It was thirty meters long, and its wingspan reached sixty meters. The feather was black just like the shadow, but its wing and tail continuously released black snow as well.

There was no really official name for this calamity since it was not recorded in the System. The one who found the calamity had the right to name it before recording it into the System.

The Administrator who found the ape-like creature named it Black Ape. Krazon, who found the elemental calamity named it Snowman, and Khaya, who found the black bird, was the one who named it Black Hawk.

In this case, Tang Shaoyang should name the creature and register it in the System, but Tang Shaoyang was not planning to do it. He wanted to keep it a secret, so he didn’t bother to register this creature.

Zephyr came down and perched on Tang Shaoyang’s right shoulder. She looked at Zara, then she looked up, "So... Who gets to fight this one? Can I join too?"

Zephyr was supposed to go to the next location, but her bird instinct wanted her to fight this creature.

"You can join the phoenix and Jet to fight it, but I want this thing alive!"

The best opponent for a calamity bird was a spirit bird.
