Chapter 72 - 71 - Trying Plant Magic «Solaris Lux»

Chapter 72: Chapter 71 - Trying Plant Magic «Solaris Lux»

The most important part of this magic book is its contents and its changeable personality. For a calmer personality, this magic book tends to be quiet and readable. It sat perfectly still in my hands throughout the first Chapter.

"This is the first time I’ve read a plant magic technique. It turns out to be much more difficult than magic that uses imagination," I said as I put the magic book on the dressing table.

"Plant magic is indeed complicated because it requires magical creativity related to the nature of plants," answered the magic book while moving the edge of the paper to a paragraph related to her statement.

I read the paragraph carefully, understanding every difficult word and the carved imagination of a sunflower as a substitute for a magical lantern at night. A spell that creates plants with the primary function of providing illumination. Unlike the Fireball spell, which can illuminate the darkness of the night with its hot and dangerous fire, this plant spell is much safer because its calm nature matches the character of this magic book.

Staying calm in every difficult situations is hard for me.

The main condition for casting magic on this plant is calm.

"The plant magic is indeed creative, I admit it."

"However, it is very difficult to do with the condition that caster must remain calm when casting the magic."

"People who mastering plant magic must be used to living in extraordinary inner peace."

As I read that paragraph, I tried to think of other ways to achieve peace besides my inner self. A calm mind, a calm attitude without doubt, or some other kind of peace unrelated to this paragraph.

The magical world I wrote about in the past wasn’t supposed to be this complicated; even the most commonly used magic was based on the user’s imagination. There were no complicated things like becoming a sage before mastering complex magic. Even the main character in this novel’s world could become a sage after mastering elemental magic based on his affinity for upholding justice.

All I can say is, it shouldn’t be as complicated as dark magic that requires human sacrifices and is bound by contracts with demons.

The murmur of my small voice echoed in the room, making my ears ring after the silence vibrated my eardrums with a terrifying sound.

"Solaris Lux..." I said while imagining something in my head.

My imagination swirled, conjuring up a long-winded thought about the sunflowers growing beside my bedroom window, growing like a cluster of sunflowers, following the direction of the moon as it reflected the sunlight.

Peesshh...

My body felt weak again, as if something from inside my body was missing; this sensation of losing mana made me feeling weak.

"I’m not used to this feeling of weakness."

"Should I make an alchemy potion that slowly increases my mana capacity?"

While thinking about that, I accidentally thought of sunflower seeds, which were shiny and delicious, as a mana-boosting snack. My wild imagination continued to grow until my stomach started thinking of salted sunflower seeds.

Krruuutt...

Kyyuuutt...

"Ugh, I worked so hard without lunch, and I’m starving before dinner, huh?" I grumbled, holding my suddenly aching stomach.

This sudden hunger— I have to hold it in a little longer.

Tookkk...

Tookkk...

A strange voice rang out again, not from a living, talking magic book. It came from my right... which somehow... seemed a little brighter than the magic lantern on my dressing table.

"Hmm??" While turning my head slowly, I saw a bright light on the glass window of my room.

"H-Huuuh??" My expression changed to a questioning one after seeing a cluster of sunflowers growing next to my room and emitting bright light like an electric lamp.

"Uhh, that won’t attract anyone’s attention, right?" I asked, a stupid question that was already known to have an answer.

The bright light aimed at the moon. One moon that shines brightly at night and a second moon that is covered by the biggest moon.

Did I... cast a plant magic spell and accidentally grew it next to my bedroom?

Well, that not accidentally, teehe~

"What a wonderful magic spell attempt. This is the first time I’ve seen such a perfect sunflower light," said the magic book with a small compliment.

"A-Are there any imperfect magic flowers?" I asked, opening the second page.

The advantage of this large, thick magic book is its paper format, which allows for a single detailed spell. As soon as the second and third pages are opened, another spell appears, with a full page of detailed explanations.

"For people who have never seen a sunflower. They imagine a rose that is burned by hot flames and ends up in a small fire in the study. I almost died many times because of that miscasting spell... incident," the magic book answered calmly, without any annoyance, which made me smile.

"A burning rose? Sunflowers and roses are different, aren’t they? Why would they imagine a burning rose?"

That simple question actually already has an answer.

Right before my eyes, hundreds of complex words formed ambiguous sentence structures, leaving everyone confused. The only way to understand the Solaris Lux spell was to see the sunflowers in person and let their imaginations be creative in arranging the glowing petals.

Its bright light is quite useful as a substitute for a magic lantern at night; it does not leak mana after the magic chant is active and maintains its shape until it dies, like a rotten flowers.

"Oh, so this is basically a plant that grows from magic spells?" I muttered after reading the important paragraph on the second page.

Such an important thing is on the second page?

"Who wrote it?" I continued muttering, before remembering the words in this magic book that said the pages would grow thick, if someone added their notes on magic book.

"Ahh, that’s right, I can add something to this magic book page, right?"

I flipped back to the first page and took out a quill to draw a detailed sunflower. Adding a sunflower would broaden the horizons of those who might think sunflowers are burnt roses. Seeing the complicated descriptions, I felt sorry for the people who had burned down their workshops to studying plant magic.

"The person who wrote in this magic book was sometimes mischievous with words."

While correcting some things that I considered misleading, I wrote a few words around the sunflower image, explaining the stem and petals. With this detailed information, anyone reading it will easily understand.

At least, that’s what I hope for the future owners of this magic book.

And indirectly, I helped Master Amagi understand this magic book according to my understanding.

Cttiinngg!!

My head felt like it was being struck by electricity after realizing the meaning of all this. Marchioness Shinano VII Lichtberg hadn’t lent me this magic book for free. It was one of her tactics to control Master Amagi’s magical abilities.

With the magic books I have read, and some of the complicated vocabulary changed to be easier to understand, it has been enough to help Master Amagi to mastering magic in this magic book.

The plan is simple, and this magic book has four different personalities. It will take me several years to finish reading all the pages of this magic book.

Besides that, there are two other magic books that I need to look and have a quick read at their contents.

"Uhm, can I ask you something?" I asked as I put down my quill and let the sunflower drawing dry.

"You wanted to ask about plant magic?" the book magic said, flapping the pages of her book and making sure the black ink on the sunflower drawing had dried.

"No, I want to ask about another living magic book that coincidentally shares the same body as you."

"Another living magic who book sharing body with me?"

"Yes, I know that sounds strange, but that’s what happened to you. Did you notice anything about it?" I asked further while observing her.

The magic book in front of me immediately closed its pages; its calm green eyes stared at me with all kinds of questions ready to come out, and blinked as if it was thinking using its own mind.

"I don’t know, I’ve been changing owners a lot, and somehow I feel like I’ve been missing something important in my life. If what you said is true, maybe there’s another magic book who sharing my body."

The answer sounded so calm, as if there was no panic in her voice. Her demeanor was far too mature for a magic book.

Uhm, it was better than the chatty and energetic forbidden magic book.

"Y-You don’t feel afraid?"

"Why should I be afraid? The contents of the writing inside my body won’t disappear when used by another magic book, right?"

"N-No, before we meet... you were a forbidden magic book filled with forbidden magic writings."

"If that’s the case, then... it’s not a big deal to me at all."

"Y-You don’t mind it, do you? In that case... you don’t mind feeling the pleasurable sensation of having your eye poked by my finger, right?"

"Eh? What do you mean?"

Shhhuuu!!

At a glance, I caught a glimpse of the surprised expression on the calm magic book face. With such a calm personality, there was still room for a playful expression of surprise.

Using the same pattern to change the appearance of the magic book and its contents, I poked her eye and prepared to see another transformation of a magic book with a gentle personality.

The cover of the magic book, once filled with grassy green, with eyelids filled with tiny flowers, and a sense of calm nature, has now been transformed into a magic book with blue eyes and plain cover.

The plain blue magic book, showing her gentle and natural figure.

Twwiinnkk...

Twwiinnkk...

The blue eyes blinked.

"Ara~ Good evening, my new owner," she said in a gentle tone.
