Chapter 79: Chapter 78 - Liliana Subconscious
"Welcome to our subconscious mind, Liliana!" said the little girl named Liliana.
The previously dark, lightless subliminal room had now transformed into a white room with a wet floor. The other Lilianas were looking at me as if welcoming a guest, waving their hands at the strange object that was spouting water. It looked like a fountain, but it wasn’t.
I don’t know what kind of hallucination I’m experiencing, but it doesn’t feel strange.
My consciousness understood that I was in a state of semi-consciousness and semi-unconsciousness after eating those glowing sunflower seeds. The lesson I learned was to never eat anything strange without knowing its effects.
Even if this consciousness were the result of a hallucination after eating those sunflower seeds, I would have been lying on the floor unconscious.
Yup, that’s better than not sleeping at all.
I’d rather sleep unconscious than stay up until morning.
"So, which realm of our subconscious are we, Lilianas?" I asked as I approached another Liliana dressed with unique uniform.
A female military police uniform, the one I often see on the cover of my novels. Beside her was Liliana, wearing a novice witch’s uniform, her magic staff made of a wooden branch. There was another Liliana, with her slender frame and elegant Academy uniform. They were little girls, looking both cute and beautiful.
I will enjoy this hallucination in a relaxed way with Liliana, Liliana, and another Liliana.
A mind-altering hallucination filled with various Liliana variants. It will be very interesting to see what happens next.
"Yes, Liliana, we are in the subconscious realm of our mana expanding after Liliana ate a sunflower seed. A fatal mistake that made us call an emergency meeting regarding the mana capacity in our tiny bodies," said one of the Lilianas who was wearing a witch uniform and pointed her magic staff at me.
"Based on the decision we made. Didn’t we agree to eat the sunflower seeds slowly? Why did such an unexpected surge in mana capacity occur?" asked one Liliana in the Royal Belfast Academy uniform.
They wore uniforms to differentiate themselves. It was quite a clever move, as I wore a maid uniform to differentiate myself from the other Lilianas.
"Ask that to Liliana maid who is casually eating sunflower seeds."
With that single word, all Liliana’s subconscious mind turned to me, as if to signal that this was the right time to defend myself.
"Sorry, those sunflower seeds taste good in my mouth," I said while lowering my head.
"It’s all because of you. Our mana capacity is being increased by that ridiculous mana expanding and need another mana source to fill it. Please spare our mana regeneration, Liliana!" said one of the Lilianas, while pointing to the fountain of water that was constantly gushing out of the ground.
That’s not a spring that comes from the mountains, right?
Hey, wait a minute...
Since when was there a mountain spring in Liliana’s subconscious?
The hallucinations I was experiencing were getting worse.
"Uhm, our capacity expanding, right?" I argued with the most reasonable excuse ever.
"Yes, our mana capacity has increased. But our mana regeneration is terrible!"
All Liliana’s varian gaze was focused on the small fountain.
"Uhh... Should I apologize for our mana regeneration, who being so poor with such a large mana capacity?" I continued, looking around.
I understood a few things in this subconscious realm of mana. This vast white space with a wet floor was Liliana’s mana capacity. It had expanded until it was too large to be filled by mana with its low mana regeneration rate. Too small, like a standard water tap filling an Olympic swimming pool or something.
Plaapp!!
The sound of slap hand echoed from another Liliana. It came from the Liliana I first met in the subconscious realm.
"Enough... Enough... Don’t corner Liliana maid too much, who has helped expand our mana capacity as Liliana. This will be our main weapon to fight the cruel future before our eyes. I’m sure you all understand what I’m saying, right?"
I don’t know if it’s just my feeling, but it seems like we have the same memory about ourselves.
Talking to one of the Lilianas who is from Liliana herself, my head feels dizzy with all of this.
"Yes, of course, I understand what’s happening as Liliana maid version and standing on the front lines instead of all of you. We need a large mana capacity! Regarding our slow mana regeneration. We can utilize alchemy potions to replenish our mana!"
My words made the other Lilianas lower their heads, wondering about this unilateral decision.
"That’s a good suggestion, and it’s doable; it’s quite reasonable and fits Liliana’s abilities."
"It’s a bit of a hassle to rely on mana regeneration alchemy potions, though."
"Ugh, we have to drink that bitter potion to replenish our mana? I don’t want to drink it!"
"It wasn’t us who drank it, but Liliana maid version who drank it."
"Then it’s not a problem for me!"
Liliana’s mind is a bit unique. There are various Lilianas with different characteristics and personalities. It reminds me of a magic book with its various personalities.
If only they could do something like this, I wouldn’t bother dealing with that holy magic book.
"I’m the one who took over Liliana’s main body. So you all won’t feel the bitter sensation on your tongue, huh?" I said, lowering my head and feeling every burden of this life.
Paatt...
Paatt...
"It’s okay, we are the same Liliana. That bitter taste will be felt by all Liliana... or not, I don’t know either, Teehe~."
"Don’t make me happy with uncertain things."
"I apologize for that. But this is what is happening right now. Liliana’s mana capacity has grown, and Liliana’s future potential is also developing in an uncertain direction. For example, like you... Liliana maid. We are here to ensure Liliana’s expanding future after her mana capacity exceeds its original capacity."
"Whichever way I look at it, your words are like blaming me for Liliana’s increased mana capacity."
"Of course, we do blame you. But, thank you for our decision. Now, we’re really stressed about Liliana’s future. As a maid or something else. Hahaha!!"
"..." Those piercing words made me pause, not because of shock or confusion, but because I knew what they meant.
Increasing one’s mana capacity has a significant impact on their magical abilities. With a small mana capacity, only a few magic spells can be used. However, with Liliana’s mana capacity and mana regeneration, a wide variety of possibilities exist.
"There’s no choice but to take responsibility for my own choice, huh?" I muttered as I looked at the other Liliana.
"Yup, you’re indeed responsible for this expanding mana capacity. So, take the responsibility, okay? It looks big but has a narrow capacity. How ridiculous... as Liliana, we won’t let this mana capacity go empty with such low-level magic talent, right?! Suddenly, all Liliana in front of me became excited and nods their head.
Nod...
Nod...
Nod...
"Uh, huh?" I tried to stay calm and observe the situation further.
It’s like I’m motivating myself to improve even further. I’m not half-hearted in my learning, and I’m constantly striving to fulfill my mana capacity expectations. So, I will consider this as my consciousness to learn something new and mastering it.
"It’s a bit of a shame that we can no longer talk about this little aquarium as our mana capacity. Huuuueeee!!" Liliana, dressed in a witch’s uniform, wept as she held a round aquarium glass, the size of her tiny, still-little-girl body holding it.
"Is that... the capacity mana Liliana have before?" I asked, tilting my head.
"Yes, Huueeee!! We can’t fill Liliana’s mana capacity anymore!"
Liliana the witch continued to cry while holding the round glass aquarium.
Does Liliana have that small mana capacity?
Liliana the witch wasn’t joking, was she?
If I think about it, it makes sense with Liliana’s low magical abilities and easily get magic exhaustion.
"It turns out, it’s that small, huh?"
"Yup~ Were you surprised by our previous mana capacity, Liliana?" Another Liliana asked, causing the other Liliana version to look at me.
"Compared to our current capacity, how long will it take to fill up?"
"I don’t know... for the rest of our lives, maybe?"
"That would take too long. At least, it’s better than having too much mana and small capacity... then exploding like ticking bomb. As far as I remember, there are mages with that kind of disease, right?"
Cttiingg!!
Cttiinngg!!
My question caused the other Liliana to look at me.
"Uh, is there something wrong with what I said?"
"Well, there’s nothing wrong about that, Liliana. We’re actually thinking the same thing, aren’t we? You know... there’s a Villainess girl who suffers from that disease and is considered a Demon Princess."
"Ohh... that Villainess girl?"
"Yes, that Villainess girl."
My thoughts stopped suddenly.
Liliana’s conversation is a bit complicated and circuitous. This Villainess girl with her explosive mana disorder will become a problem in the future. There were some minor issues related to her as a child, but they weren’t as complex as they are now as a teenager.
Liliana’s small mana capacity and low regeneration would probably be safe, not as explosive as the Villainess girl.
It is just... made me worries about something.
"A tea party at the Royal Family won’t end up being the beginning of a disaster for this Villainess girl, will it?" said one Liliana, wearing the Royal Belfast Academy uniform.
"Hmm... maybe."
"Uuhh... poor thing..."
"Well, that’s Liliana’s maid responsibility, right?"
"Why is this my responsibility?" I grumbled, slightly holding back my annoyance.
"Because you are Liliana."
"YOU ALL ARE LILIANA TOO!" I replied quickly.
