Asmodeus System: Stealing My Bully's Mother
Chapter 71: ⁷¹The Remaining FlamesDusk was settling over Zenithar.
The sky above the academy shifted into a dreary gray-purple. Wisps of thin snow danced in the biting wind, sweeping across the outer courtyard.
A pitch-black carriage devoid of any noble crest cut through the cobbled street toward the academy’s side gate. The clatter of iron horseshoes and the rattling of metal wheels shattered the silence, instantly drawing the attention of dozens of passing students.
The carriage came to a halt right before the private lane leading to the Main Tower. The door swung open.
Ethan Valen stepped out first. The freezing wind struck him immediately, ruffling his dark brown hair. He wore only a black shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Far from shivering, his athletic frame stood impeccably tall. His dark brown eyes swept across the courtyard with absolute serenity—resembling a predator returning to its den.
A few seconds later, a second figure disembarked.
Miya Evarett stepped down cautiously. Standing only up to Ethan’s chest, the Elven girl was swathed in a thick cloak. Her hood was pulled low, revealing only her wavy blonde hair and marble-pale skin. Heavy dark circles were etched beneath her light purple eyes.
The crowd of students in the courtyard parted simultaneously, clearing a path like a sea split by a blade. Wild whispers erupted instantly.
"That’s Valen... He didn’t die in the North?" "Who’s that hooded girl?" "Shh! Keep your mouth shut if you value your life. Did you forget what happened to Prince Edward? Forgot he’s the Grand Champion?"
Fear, awe, and envy hung heavy in the air.
Yet Ethan couldn’t care less. He strode forward with a steady rhythm, leading the way down marble corridors that were rapidly yielding to evening shadows. Miya trailed close behind, keeping her head bowed low to conceal her identity from the lingering gazes of noble students.
Ethan’s VIP room in the Main Tower felt surprisingly warm.
Though slightly dim and dusty after being left vacant for days, the comforting scent of pine wood and old books immediately greeted them. The moment the door was locked from the inside, Miya let out a long breath she had been holding back.
The girl lowered her hood, freeing her pointed ears, and gently set her medical bag down. Without needing to be told, she walked over to the small pantry in the corner to boil water for tea.
Her hands still trembled slightly as she poured the tea leaves. Clink... The porcelain cup tapped softly against its saucer.
Yet, there were no more choked sobs or hysterical panic like during her first few weeks in this room.
It was just that Miya’s mind remained trapped back in Granderer. Every time she closed her eyes, the flash of Duke Alaric’s colossal ice sword lashed out toward her all over again.
I blocked it... Miya thought, biting down hard on her lower lip. I actually held back a strike from the monster of the North.
The contrast within her felt absurd. When her Sage state took over, terror evaporated, replaced entirely by pure magical calculation. But now, she was back to being ’Miya’—a timid girl whose heart hammered at the mere creak of a door hinge.
Ethan strolled into the center of the room. With casual movements, he unbuttoned the top three buttons of his shirt. The Horned Crown tattoo peeked out from the left side of his chest, pulsing softly in response to the Sin Mana in the ambient air. He sank into the velvet sofa, spreading his arms and closing his eyes.
Miya brought over the tea tray. She set a cup down on Ethan’s table before retreating with her own. The Elven girl curled up on the edge of the bed, her pointed ears occasionally twitching in alert response to sounds outside the room.
At the exact same time, in the Student Council VIP Dormitory.
Kaelia’s private room felt suffocating.
The fiery red-haired girl sat staring at a stack of academy incident reports. Her proud red-and-gold uniform clung flawlessly to her athletic physique.
Her golden eyes glared fiercely at the drying ink. She had been staring at the parchment for an hour, yet not a single sentence registered in her mind.
Her body was revolting.
Thump.
Kaelia flinched violently. Her hands gripped the edge of the desk so tightly her knuckles turned bone-white.
An absurd, searing heat exploded in her lower abdomen. It wasn’t pain. It was a manic, rhythmic thrum—an instinctual pull that injected venom straight into her veins.
Beneath her uniform shirt, the black fire-rose Lust Brand burned with a blinding glow. The curse pulsed violently, reacting to the return of its Master.
Kaelia’s breath turned ragged. Her sanity melted away. Agonizing longing, raw fury, and blind jealousy warped together into a potent poison. That bastard had vanished to the North for days without a single word of farewell!
"Damn it..." Kaelia swore hoarsely, her voice trembling as she fought back her surging desire.
She couldn’t take it any longer. Kaelia stood up abruptly. Her chair tumbled backward with a sharp CLATTER. Her golden eyes were now completely wild.
She stormed out of her room, practically sprinting down the dormitory corridor.
"President Kaelia? This month’s budget report—" a council member attempted to intercept her.
Kaelia didn’t even glance back. She barged right past her junior’s shoulder, continuing forward while ignoring every bewildered gaze. Her radar was locked onto a single set of coordinates: the Main Tower.
BAM!
The heavy oak door of the VIP room was slammed open. A fine layer of dust rained down from the ceiling from the violent impact.
Miya nearly jumped out of her skin. Tea spilled across her blanket. The moment her eyes landed on the red-haired figure in the doorway, the Elf froze completely. She bowed her head low, desperately trying to blend into the shadows.
Kaelia stood there, her chest heaving heavily. Her face was flushed crimson. Her golden eyes glared sharply, like blades ready to flay the youth lounging on the sofa.
She stepped inside, slammed the door shut, and turned the key with violent force.
"You..." Kaelia hissed, her voice quivering between fury and unmanageable lust. "You disappeared for days without a single word. Leaving me behind to clean up the mess here. And now you waltz back as if nothing happened?!"
Ethan didn’t flinch.
He lifted his gaze slowly. A faintly condescending smirk tugged at his lips.
"Hmm... You look a mess, President," Ethan replied smoothly. His deep voice resonated through the ambient air.
Kaelia gritted her teeth. She marched forward, prepared to unleash a week’s worth of built-up fury.
Yet before she could reach the sofa, Ethan moved. Faster than the eye could follow.
In a single aggressive yank, Ethan snatched Kaelia’s collar. He dragged her slender frame forward and threw her onto the mattress beside Miya.
Kaelia gasped. Before she could resist, Ethan pinned her down, locking both her wrists above her head.
"Let go of me, you bastard!" Kaelia hissed fiercely. She thrashed against him, channeling her strength as a fighter to preserve what remained of her pride.
Ethan was entirely unfazed. Instead of meeting brute force with force, his free hand slithered down Kaelia’s collar. With methodical movements, his fingers unbuttoned the red-and-gold uniform one by one.
"Angry with me, hm?" Ethan whispered right against her lips.
Every touch of Ethan’s fingers channeled Sin Mana that ruthlessly seeped into Kaelia’s pores. Her body might be strong, but her soul was already mortgaged.
The final button popped free. Kaelia’s thin white shirt parted. The glow of the black fire-rose on her abdomen ignited wildly, resonating with its master.
"Nngh... Stop..." Kaelia bit down hard on her lower lip, her eyes welling with tears. Her anger dissolved, replaced by a surge of submission that paralyzed her urge to fight back.
In the corner of the bed, barely a meter away, Miya pulled her knees tight to her chest, trembling.
The little Elf’s face flushed crimson all the way to the tips of her ears. Her sensitive ears caught everything—Kaelia’s gasps, the rustle of clothing, and Ethan’s dark whispers. Miya dared not run, nor did she dare to look.
"Tsk. I deliberately didn’t tell you, Kaelia," Ethan whispered, his lips grazing her jawline. "I let that mark burn you slowly. Let you pine, let you rage... until you nearly lost your mind."
Ethan’s hand slipped beneath, touching the rose pattern pulsing hot against Kaelia’s skin.
Kaelia let out a stifled gasp. Her back arched instinctively. The Student Council President’s ego crumbled into nothingness. Tonight, she was merely a ravenous pet.
"And now that I’m back..." Ethan continued, his voice dropping to a low, husky growl, "...I’m here to extinguish the fire I lit myself."
Tears escaped Kaelia’s eyes. Her previously clenched fingers now clutched the sheets in desperation. "You monster..." she sobbed softly between gasps she could no longer suppress.
"And you belong to this monster," Ethan stated with absolute finality.
That night, the VIP room was consumed by a storm of euphoria. Under the absolute domain of Sin Mana, Kaelia surrendered her ego to be dismantled and rebuilt. She sank, bound ever deeper into the depths of the Demon Lord’s abyss.
A few hours later.
Kaelia lay limply, resting against Ethan’s broad chest. Her messy crimson hair draped over her bare shoulders. Her breathing remained ragged, her eyes heavy. Her left hand subconsciously wrapped possessively around Ethan’s waist.
At the far end of the bed, Miya had already surrendered to mental exhaustion, curled up beneath the thick blanket.
"You really are a bastard, Valen..." Kaelia murmured hoarsely. The venom in her voice was entirely gone, replaced by an intoxicating submission.
Ethan, leaning back casually as he stroked Kaelia’s hair, offered a faint smirk.
"You could always refuse and walk out that door, Kaelia."
Kaelia scoffed—a soft chuckle that sounded bitter, yet heavy with acceptance. She knew that was impossible. Even if the Lust Brand were removed, this man’s dark pull had permanently bound her feet.
"I hate you," she whispered softly before closing her eyes, falling sound asleep in the arms of the man who broke her.
Ethan stared up at the room’s ceiling. The Northern chessboard was set, and by tomorrow morning, Zenithar would feel the shockwaves.
Dawn’s light pierced through the glass windows of the Main Tower corridor.
The door to the VIP room creaked open. Kaelia stepped out. Her muscles still ached and her steps were slightly unsteady, but she forced her posture straight. Her uniform was hastily straightened.
Just as she was about to turn the corner, two male seniors happened to pass by. Their steps halted upon seeing Kaelia emerge from that specific VIP room—a room everyone knew belonged to Ethan Valen.
One of the seniors raised an eyebrow. A mocking smirk formed on his face.
"Well, well. Busy morning, President Kaelia?" he greeted loudly. "Emerging from an F-Caste’s room this early? I heard Valen just returned last night. Must’ve been a very... exhausting academy assignment."
Kaelia’s footsteps ground to a halt.
She turned her head slowly. The sweet submission she had displayed to Ethan last night evaporated without a trace. Her golden eyes narrowed.
The temperature in the corridor plunged instantly. The murderous aura of an apex predator exploded outward, physically squeezing the lungs of the two seniors.
Kaelia didn’t argue. She didn’t rage or offer an explanation. She merely locked eyes with the senior, delivering an absolute glare that promised swift death if they uttered a single word more.
The senior’s mocking smirk vanished instantly. Cold sweat beaded on his temples. Both of their legs involuntarily took a step back, trembling in pure terror.
Having shattered the fools’ nerve completely, Kaelia turned away. She strode off, letting the rhythmic click of her boots echo down the corridor.
