Awakening the Useless Class...But I am Secretly the Strongest!
Chapter 11: Next TargetRyan continued scrolling through the list until a special entry appeared.
Unlike the other bosses, its profile was marked with a golden border.
He tapped on it.
Fallen Holy Knight
Level: 100
Rank: Floor Boss
Class: Fallen Holy Knight
Location: Ascension Tower - First Floor Final Chamber
Status: Gatekeeper of the Second Floor
Description:
Once the greatest Holy Knight of the First Floor, he fell after being corrupted during an ancient battle.
Even after losing his sanity, he continues to guard the path to the Second Floor, defeating every challenger who stands before him.
Anyone wishing to advance to the Second Floor must first defeat the Fallen Holy Knight.
Ryan stared at the screen for a long time.
A slow smile appeared on his face.
"If I can loot him..."
"I’ll obtain a boss-class."
His heartbeat sped up.
"A Level 100 Floor Boss."
He wasn’t interested in simply clearing the First Floor.
He wanted everything the boss possessed.
Its class.
Its skills.
Its stats.
Its talent, if it had one.
Ryan looked at the image of the Fallen Holy Knight.
The boss wore cracked silver armor covered in black corruption. A torn white cloak hung from his shoulders, and he carried a massive holy greatsword stained with dark energy. One eye still shone with golden holy light, while the other burned with crimson corruption.
"Though it’s not going to be easy on my own, I should level up and gain more stats before challenging him."
Ryan knew he wasn’t strong enough to face the guardian of the First Floor yet.
Rushing into that battle would only get him killed.
He closed the Fallen Holy Knight’s profile and began searching for another target.
After filtering the list, he found the boss he wanted next.
Black Water Wyvern
Level: 80
Rank: Boss
Race: Lesser Draconic Beast
Location: Blackwater Cave Dungeon
Dungeon Rank: A-Rank (Tier 0)
Description:
A powerful wyvern that rules the underground lakes and rivers of the Blackwater Cave Dungeon. Its scales are as hard as steel, and its poisonous breath can dissolve both flesh and stone.
Although it is only a lesser draconic beast, its physical strength far surpasses that of most monsters on the First Floor.
Ryan smiled.
"This is the one."
The Blackwater Cave Dungeon was one of the most dangerous Tier 0 dungeons.
It was an A-Rank dungeon filled with powerful monsters, poisonous swamps, underground rivers, and countless aquatic beasts.
Very few Awakened below Level 100 dared to enter it alone.
However, Ryan wasn’t interested in the dungeon itself.
His target was only one creature.
The Black Water Wyvern.
"If I manage to kill it, I should be able to loot a lot of useful things."
He counted them on his fingers.
"Its stats."
"Its skills."
He paused before smiling even wider.
"But what I want the most is its soul."
If the Perfect Loot talent worked the same way as it had with the Orc Shaman Chief, then the Black Water Wyvern’s soul could become another summon under his command.
Unlike the Orc Shaman Chief, however, a wyvern could fly.
Ryan imagined himself riding a giant draconic beast through the skies.
"A flying mount would make traveling so much easier."
With his next target decided, Ryan bookmarked the Black Water Wyvern before putting aside his phone.
Ryan put aside his phone and turned off the lights.
Tomorrow’s target had already been decided.
There was no point thinking about it any longer.
He closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning, Ryan woke up early.
After eating breakfast with his parents, he packed a few supplies and left the house.
Since the Blackwater Cave Dungeon was located within Silver River City, it didn’t take him long to reach the dungeon entrance.
Many Awakened were already entering and leaving the dungeon.
Some were hunting monsters for experience.
Others were gathering rare herbs and monster materials.
Ryan walked past them and entered the dungeon alone.
A cold breeze greeted him as he stepped inside.
The cave was dark and damp.
Black rivers flowed through the tunnels, and the sound of dripping water echoed throughout the dungeon.
Ryan checked the cooldown of his talent.
Perfect Loot
Cooldown Remaining: 3 Hours 12 Minutes
"So I still have a little over three hours."
He wasn’t disappointed.
"I wasn’t planning to fight the Black Water Wyvern right away anyway."
His goal for the time being was simple.
He wanted to level up his summons.
With a wave of his hand, Ryan summoned Blizzy and the Orc Shaman Chief.
The Orc Shaman Chief appeared first, its translucent blue body materializing beside him with its staff in hand.
A moment later, a small ball of icy light floated into the air.
Blizzy jumped out of it and landed on Ryan’s shoulder.
The little polar bear looked around curiously before happily sniffing the cold air.
Ryan smiled and gently patted its head.
"You’ll be doing most of the training today."
As for the Spirit Serpent and the Spirit Wolf, they were already around Level 60 because they had inherited the proficiency and level of the original Orc Shaman Chief’s summons.
There was no need to train them further for now.
Even so, Ryan summoned both of them.
The long green Spirit Serpent silently slithered out of its summoning circle, while the Spirit Wolf emerged from another, its body covered in pale green wind energy.
Ryan looked at the two experienced spirits.
"You two aren’t here to fight."
"Your job is to protect Blizzy and the Orc Shaman Chief while they level up."
The Spirit Wolf let out a low howl in acknowledgment.
The Spirit Serpent flicked its tongue and nodded.
Ryan smiled.
"All right."
"Let’s get started."
With four summons accompanying him, Ryan began walking deeper into the Blackwater Cave Dungeon, searching for the first group of monsters.
The cave became darker the deeper they went.
Black streams flowed beside the narrow paths, and the walls were covered with glowing blue crystals that provided just enough light to see.
After walking for nearly ten minutes, the Spirit Wolf suddenly stopped.
