Awakening the Useless Class...But I am Secretly the Strongest!
Chapter 26: Purchasing IIThey soon reached an area where several Spirit Foxes were kept.
There were many cute little foxes with different-colored fur. Some were sleeping while others were playing with each other.
"Pick any one you like, sir."
Ryan looked at the foxes carefully.
After a while, his eyes stopped on one particular fox.
Its fur was completely white, while the tips of its paws were golden, making it look as if it were wearing tiny golden socks.
It also had several cute golden markings on its cheeks.
Ryan pointed toward it.
"This one."
The receptionist brought the fox over.
The little fox looked at Ryan curiously.
It tilted its head and stared at him.
"Kyu?"
The receptionist smiled.
"She’s probably confused. She hasn’t seen you before."
Ryan nodded.
"I like this one."
"Good choice."
The receptionist gently picked up the fox.
"Please come with me."
Ryan followed her back toward the counter.
The little fox remained in her arms, looking around curiously.
"This is the Beast Contract Ring."
She handed Ryan a small golden ring.
"You only need to place a drop of your blood on it. Once the contract is established, the beast will recognize you as its owner. The contract can even be formed with a non-Awakened person."
Ryan examined the ring.
It was a small, sleek band with several tiny runes engraved around its surface.
"We also sell Beast Storage Rings if you need one, along with specialized food for the fox."
Ryan nodded.
"Sure. How much will everything cost?"
The receptionist smiled politely.
"Since this fox can potentially reach Rank 5, the cub itself costs five billion AC. Including the Beast Contract Ring, Beast Storage Ring, and enough food for her, the total would normally be 5.1 billion AC."
She paused before continuing.
"But we’ll give you a discount and make it an even five billion AC."
Ryan’s face twitched.
’What a rip-off.’
Just a short while ago, he had been feeling rich.
Now, half an hour later, he was about to become poor again.
Ryan sighed.
’At least I can easily earn the money back.’
He took out his Awakened Card and handed it to the receptionist.
"Fine. I’ll take her."
The receptionist happily accepted the card and began processing the payment.
A few minutes later, the payment was completed.
The receptionist handed Ryan the Beast Storage Ring.
"The fox is already inside. You can release her whenever you want."
Ryan looked at the ring and nodded.
"Thanks."
He didn’t establish the contract himself.
The fox was meant for his sister, so he planned to let her form the contract when he gave her the beast.
Ryan stored the Beast Contract Ring and the food in his inventory as well.
"That’s everything, right?"
"Yes. The fox, Beast Storage Ring, Beast Contract Ring, and the food are all included."
Ryan nodded.
"Good."
He left the beast shop and walked through the market for a while.
He had originally planned to buy a few more things, but after looking at his remaining balance, he decided against it.
"I’ve spent enough for today."
Between the Sacred Ward Totem materials, defensive equipment, and the Spirit Fox, he had already spent a huge amount of money.
Ryan checked his account.
"I really went from a billionaire to nearly broke in one afternoon."
He sighed before putting his card away.
"At least I know how to make the money back."
Ryan returned home.
"Mom, where are Dad and Amelia?" he asked when he saw his mother.
"It was around noon, so your father went to work while I stayed home," she replied.
Ryan nodded and walked toward the living room, where his mother was sitting.
"Mom, I have something to give you."
His mother looked at him.
"What is it? I still have to make dinner."
Ryan took out a class card and handed it to her.
"Okay, just tear this card."
She looked at the card in confusion.
"Fallen Priest? What is this? Some kind of game card?"
She turned it over and examined it.
"It looks pretty cool, but why do you want me to tear it?"
"Just tear it. It’s an item, not an ordinary card."
His mother shrugged and followed his instructions.
The moment she teared the card, it suddenly turned into a stream of golden light and entered her body.
Her eyes widened as several notifications appeared in front of her.
[You have acquired a new Class.]
[Would you like to enhance your current Class?]
OR
[Would you like to replace your current Class with the S-Rank Class: Fallen Priestess?]
His mother stared at the notifications in complete confusion.
"Ryan, what is this!?" she exclaimed, looking at the floating notifications in front of her.
"I found a hidden inheritance inside a dungeon. There were lots of these cards, and I even found one for myself. Mine is the S-Rank Death Blade Knight. I chose this one for you, and Dad and Amelia also have something prepared for them."
His mother looked at him in disbelief before glancing back at the notifications.
"But how? I’ve never heard of anything like this before."
"Mom, don’t be silly. How could you have heard about it? Whoever discovered the same inheritance probably kept the information hidden."
His mother thought about it for a moment before slowly nodding.
"You’re right. No one would willingly reveal information about something this valuable."
"Exactly."
Ryan pointed toward the notifications.
"Mom, choose the option to replace your current Class. The Fallen Priestess isn’t only a healing and support Class. It also has offensive abilities, along with powerful holy and demonic abilities."
His mother nodded.
"I see. Then I’ll choose the new Class."
She selected the replacement option.
[Class Replacement selected.]
[Current Class: D-Rank Healer.]
[Replacing current Class with: S-Rank Fallen Priestess.]
[Class replacement beginning.]
Ryan watched as a bright light surrounded his mother.
A moment later, the light slowly faded.
[Class Replacement successful.]
[You have acquired the S-Rank Class: Fallen Priestess.]
[Your previous Class, D-Rank Healer, has been replaced.]
His mother’s eyes widened as she stared at the new notifications.
