"Captain!"

The young officer sitting at the table immediately jumped to his feet and called out to him in a panic.

"Get out!" Captain Jiang said without even turning his head.

The young officer glanced at the boy sitting opposite him—calm and unruffled even under interrogation—then looked at Captain Jiang, a conflicted expression flashing across his face.

In the end, he still turned around and left the interrogation room.

Once the door was shut, Captain Jiang’s face completely twisted into something ferocious and contorted.

"You little punk just had to refuse the easy way and ask for the hard one!"

He walked up to An Mingji and reached out, about to grab him by the hair.

However, when his hand was halfway there, it was as if some kind of barrier appeared in front of him, and no matter what he did, he couldn’t touch the boy.

An Mingji, seated in the chair, had a faint, half-smile on his face, his tranquil, water-clear eyes slanting toward him with contempt.

His posture was lofty and superior, elegant like a nobleman, looking down on all living beings.

As if everyone before him could only lower their heads humbly.

This, precisely, infuriated Captain Jiang—no one had ever dared treat him like this.

He reached out, trying to break through the obstacle and give this arrogant kid a brutal lesson.

But no matter how much strength he used or from what angle he attacked, he couldn’t touch An Mingji.

The person was right in front of him, yet he couldn’t touch him in this bizarre way; this made Captain Jiang’s expression grow solemn despite himself.

He struggled in stubborn unwillingness for a long time, until his face turned an abnormal shade of red from rage, and only then did An Mingji speak, full of mock pity: "Stop wasting your energy. Call whoever’s actually in charge. No need for you and me to waste time."

"You little shit! What the hell did you do?!" Captain Jiang was shaking all over with anger.

The boy’s sensual thin lips curved into a graceful arc, and a chilling light flashed in his pitch-black eyes: "I told you, don’t waste time."

An Mingji was fed up.

He couldn’t be bothered to keep tangling with this hot-headed, bad-tempered man in front of him.

There was a soft click.

The handcuffs on An Mingji’s hands inexplicably snapped open. He slowly rotated his wrists, his brows knitting slightly, looking thoroughly annoyed.

"..."

This uncanny scene, seen by Captain Jiang, shocked him badly.

There were only the two of them in the room, the suspect sitting right in front of him, and he hadn’t seen how the cuffs were opened at all.

An Mingji flexed his wrists, then rose to his feet, unhurried.

He straightened his slightly rumpled clothes, then walked toward the door of the interrogation room with elegant steps.

Captain Jiang tried to stop him, but he simply couldn’t get close.

Every time he got near, he was bounced back by an invisible barrier.

This boy was too damned strange, reeking of something wicked.

Only now did Captain Jiang realize what kind of hard nut he’d run into today.

An Mingji turned the interrogation room door handle and stepped out.

There were still a few staff members standing outside in twos and threes.

They saw An Mingji walk out of the room, his hands free of restraints, moving at an easy, unhurried pace. He didn’t spare them so much as a glance, just headed toward another interrogation room in use nearby.

"Stop him!"

Captain Jiang’s furious roar followed right on the heels of that.

The people who had been standing there in a daze, not understanding what was going on, finally snapped back to their senses all at once.

They swarmed toward An Mingji.

"Ow!"

"My face!"

"My hand!!!"

Screams rang out one after another.

Just like Captain Jiang, they couldn’t even touch the hem of An Mingji’s clothes.

Not only that, they had rushed in with such force that they were injured by the invisible barrier.

An Mingji’s destination was clear. He stopped in front of the interrogation room where Zou Yanpeng was, and raised his hand to push the door open.

The scene inside fell into his eyes.

Compared to how he’d just been treated, things on Zou Yanpeng’s side were very calm.
