Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Dire

While Ved and Naledi were out on their missions, the others remained preparing for their own.

The day came for them to march and they were taken directly to a space station at the centre of their sector.

" This will be your base, you’ll have to defend all these worlds in this map, your priority is to at least keep 40 percent of intelligent life in this sector alive."

The creation realm expert who brought them here informed them of their task and what it would take for it to count as completed.

They nodded, Alya, Aira and Avery immediately took their stations, they spread out the map and revised their strategy.

" First, we’ll need to scout, we need to know the enemy’s move before they even make them.

Siri tamed a nest of wasps recently, she should be able to take care of that." They looked at Siri, she nodded.

" This sector is too vast though, I can’t cover all of it with my wasps, I can only scout one side at a time."

Aira nodded, " Okay, we’ll find others to take care of the other directions. White, I’ll need you, Trixie and Nimue here.

Your job is defending this star system, it has only two life planets."

White and the two turtles nodded, there were teleportation ports set up, they used the to teleport there.

" Cat, Cathra, you can take care of this star system." They pointed at another star system.

Cat grinned excitedly and rushed out but her mother grabbed her neck. " Calm down you stupid girl where do you think you’re going?"

Cat shrunk her neck in embarrassment, in her excitement she had almost tried to fly there.

Forgetting there was a teleportation port, her mother dragged her along and they went to their star system.

Others were also assigned their star systems to protect, larger forces like the sects and dragon army were given more star systems.

There were still star systems unprotected but upon closer look, that was not the case at all.

This star systems were always situated between two or even three star systems with assigned guards.

Not to mention most of those systems had people at comprehension realm assisting with the defence.

When everything was set, they waited hoping the void army would not attack, all except Cat and White.

The two of them were quite excited, it has been some time since they had any action and they were reeling for it.

One one star system near the edge of the sector, Siri, Ndu and Haruko sat inside a hut drinking coffee.

The two of them were quite close, of their friend group they were the closest. Suddenly Siri paused.

She placed down her cup and looked up, " They’re here." She warned the other two making them stand on end.

She used an artefact to report to Avery and the others at th command center. " How many do you see?" Avery asked.

Siri closed her eyes and used the eyes of her wasp to see, in front of the wasp was an endless army.

It stretched so far she couldn’t even see their end but upon closer look, the army of the Nameless was not that large.

What she was seeing were void beasts, an endless swarm of them. The envoys and heralds were controlling this wave.

" We’re going to need reinforcement, we can’t deal with this by ourselves." Siri sounded grim.

However what came from the other end was not what she had expected. " Siri, I’m afraid that’s going to be hard."

Command center had just received reports from all fronts reporting the same thing, the enemy was going all out from the get go.

" Damnit." Alya cursed. Avery sighed with fatigue, she took her true form, it was more relaxing.

" No amount of strategizing can deal with overwhelming power, disregarding the numbers.

Each group is led by a herald and even on the same rank and level, dealing with those monsters is not easy.

Plus void beings are known to be stronger on average." She sighed again.

" I’m going." Avery flew out, she used the teleportation formation to go assist the place with the least support.

Left at base, Aira and Alya reported everything back to their superiors who were fighting on other fronts.

What she received made her despair, this was not happening with just them. Even on the main battlefield.

The void army used void beasts as the vanguard giving the armies of heaven a hard time.

Their team wouldn’t receive reinforcement, not in a short time. Aira clenched her fists, " Damn it all."

She had never lost her cool but no matter how hard she tried to think she couldn’t come up with a solution.

Avery was right, no amount of scheming and strategizing can deal with overwhelming force.

All that was left was for them to hope for some miracle otherwise they were all going to die here.

--------------------------------------

Naledi teleported from one place to another covering wide distances each time but her essence energy was being drained rapidly.

Far from her position, she could see battles being waged, the universe itself shook and galaxies split apart.

That had nothing to do with her, her priority was reaching the singularity and taking it without being noticed.

Suddenly she stopped, she felt a pang in her heart, she couldn’t explain it but her instincts told her something terrible was about to happen.

Ved’s situation was not much different except he couldn’t teleport around like Naledi.

He couldn’t use the dream realm as a shortcut either since the dream guard blocked passage.

He was forced to fly through the universe, thus he used everything he can to enhance his speed.

Flames burnt high on his wings as he used the wings of Garuda. Ved looked to his left towards a certain part of a certain galaxy.

It was too far from him to see clear but he could see stars disappearing one after another around that place.

’ Isn’t that where?’ he paused, "Something is wrong." He whispered. He changed direction and flew towards that galaxy.

’ I hope I’m wrong.’
