Beast Taming: I Have an Immortal Mansion

Chapter 516 366: Things Will Be Better Hereafter

「Two months later」

Within Barbaric Moyun Valley, demonic beasts of all shapes and sizes fled in every direction, retreating in disarray.

To the sound of mournful cries that filled the sky, the disciples of the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect advanced in formation, sweeping through the valley.

Moyun Valley itself wasn't particularly vast. Since the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect began their advance from the entrance, it had taken them just over a month to sweep through. In that time, the various demonic beasts living in the long, narrow valley had either been killed or forced to surrender.

All that remained were these stubborn beasts, which had been driven from one end of the valley to the other. Now, they were cornered.

"ROAR!"

Amidst roars filled with warning and vigilance, a group of disciples in dark azure robes appeared one by one.

The one leading them was a middle-aged Male Cultivator. He looked at the beasts they had encircled, issuing commands in a steady stream.

"Squad Alpha, prepare to deploy the Ten Directions Forbidden Sky Golden Silk Net. Our main objective this time is to capture them alive."

"Squad Bravo, watch for the Lifebound Talent of these Split-Hoofed Blazing Rock Rhinoceroses. Deploy countering Talismans as needed."

"Squad Charlie, have your Spirit Beasts engage first. You'll get double contribution points for this. Don't let a single one get away."

After giving these orders, the man's tone abruptly changed. He turned to a young woman behind them, dressed in robes as white as snow, and spoke respectfully.

"Please watch over us this time, Uncle Jiang."

The woman in white gave a slight nod, her expression gentle and calm. At her side, a black and white Bear Beast yawned with boredom.

The woman in white was none other than Jiang Wanqin, and the bored Spirit Beast at her side was, of course, Jinbao.

The pair, along with this group of Qingyuan Sect disciples, had been battling in Moyun Valley for three whole years. While not every day was a bloody struggle, such a long time had changed them all.

Three years ago, when they were first integrated into the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect's military formations, they had been lost and uncertain. Back then, the Qingyuan Sect disciples would cry out in surprise upon seeing any unusual demonic beast.

Now, however, even when faced with the rarest of beasts, most disciples would just smile, summon their Magical Artifacts, and cut it down without a second thought.

Jiang Wanqin was no different. While her fundamental personality hadn't changed, three years of witnessing life and death had transformed her. The once slightly naive Foundation Establishment Female Cultivator had become decisive and fearless.

"Proceed without restraint, Tianfang. This war should be nearing its end."

Jiang Tianfang gave a steady nod and motioned for the disciples to advance according to plan. As the battle began, the illusory image of Jiang Wanqin's Lifebound Ice Cup Flower manifested behind her. Wisps of pure vital energy flowed out, connecting to every fighting disciple from the Qingyuan Sect.

Jinbao was off to the side, rubbing his eyes with all his might. He had been feeling increasingly drowsy these past few days. He let out another yawn, and through the resulting tears, he saw the leader of the beasts—the largest of them all—making a desperate charge to break through in their direction.

'A cornered beast's last struggle.' Jinbao recalled a phrase Fang Qingyuan once used that seemed to describe this exact situation.

Jinbao glanced at Jiang Wanqin, her eyes closed as she focused on channeling her Lifebound Talent. He fought to stay upright, his body suddenly swelling to a height of thirty feet. Just as the leader of the Split-Hoofed Blazing Rock Rhinoceroses lowered its head and charged close with its horns, Jinbao sprang into action. He grabbed the rhino's head, and with a mighty heave, slammed it to the ground.

He then proceeded to pummel it with his huge fists. By the time Jiang Tianfang and his men came forward, the rhinoceros leader was barely breathing.

The exertion did little to relieve his drowsiness. Jinbao sighed in resignation. 'Master, when are you coming to get me?'

...

The very person being called for, Fang Qingyuan, was currently with Lechuan, inspecting the one and only Fourth-rank Spiritual Land in Moyun Valley.

Sensing the dense Spiritual Qi up ahead, Fang Qingyuan congratulated Lechuan.

"Congratulations on achieving your wish, Master. With this Fourth-rank Spiritual Land, the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect can finally establish a true foothold."

Lechuan made little effort to hide his joy from Fang Qingyuan. He gazed at the small mountain rising from the valley floor ahead, his face beaming with delight.

"It's only a Fourth-grade Lower Grade Spirit Land, so it can hardly be called a Blessed Land Grotto Heaven yet. I was thinking that after a while, once we've dealt with all the beasts in Moyun Valley, we will relocate the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect's headquarters here. Qingyuan, what are your thoughts on this?"

Fang Qingyuan blinked. He certainly had thoughts on the matter. Moyun Valley was a massive territory—a Land Realm spanning tens of thousands of square kilometers. You could easily fit several more sects inside without any issue.

In contrast, the Qingyuan Sect was still getting by on the two thousand square kilometers of land it had been allotted years ago. It was true that the Qingyuan Sect had worked hard to manage its territory, achieving bountiful harvests and developing a thriving insect-beast husbandry enterprise. As a result, the disciples never lacked for cultivation resources.

'But who would ever complain about having too much land?'

'If Lechuan were to say the word and set aside a portion of Moyun Valley for the Qingyuan Sect, the sect's future development would undoubtedly reach a whole new level.' But Fang Qingyuan quickly dismissed the thought. The Qingyuan Sect no longer had any official ties to the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect. Even with Fang Qingyuan's status as Lechuan's Closed-door Disciple, Lechuan couldn't simply hand over tens of thousands of square kilometers of land to the Qingyuan Sect on a whim.

Even if Lechuan were willing, the multitude of disciples in the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect would not be. And even if they had no objections, the Cultivators from Yue'e Ancestor's faction, who backed Lechuan, would never agree.
