In the square, the teaching session was still underway.
Hundreds upon thousands of young Beastmasters sat cross-legged, trying to enter the cultivation state of the Cyan Pine Unmoving Technique under the guidance of the Friends of Nature members.
Most of them wore looks of curiosity and concentration, trying their best to follow the instructions and imagine themselves as a Cyan Pine rooted in rock, impervious to wind and rain.
A faint Spiritual Fluctuation from the collective meditation filled the air, mixed with the fresh scent of vegetation, making it seem exceptionally tranquil.
However, beneath this seemingly harmonious surface, Lu You had also quietly arrived on the scene, just in time to see Gu Ming being escorted out of the crowd.
She felt a little uncomfortable.
The surging crowd and the dense Spiritual Field were overwhelming for someone with her social anxiety.
She quietly hugged the Sunflower Seed-eating Hamster in her arms—the little fellow was holding a sunflower seed and nibbling it with great relish, completely indifferent to its surroundings.
Seeing Gu Ming being led out of the crowd, it suddenly perked up and tugged on Lu You’s collar, urging her to go talk to him.
Lu You told it to be patient. In truth, she had rushed over after receiving a message from Gu Ming, but now was not the time to make contact.
She looked left and right, then retreated into the shadow of a large tree at the edge of the square.
It was relatively quiet here, allowing her to catch her breath for a moment.
"Mmm..."
She gently patted the bulging pocket of her down jacket, from which came the subtle, soothing Spiritual Fluctuation of the Tri-color Pupa.
The Tri-color Pupa, in the midst of its Form Evolution, had become exceptionally sensitive to Spiritual Energy. It seemed to be able to sense its master’s anxiety.
Just then, Lu You felt a faint warmth in her chest.
She had a small, transparent Crystal Stone pendant hanging from her neck, one that resembled a swirling nebula. It was the Star Spirit’s temporary home; she’d heard on TV that these things could nurture a Star Spirit.
Thanks to the dividends from the Ruan Family for the Visualization Image, plus the earnings from the Yichuan Ruins, she was no longer impoverished and could buy growth items for her Pet Beasts without feeling the pinch.
The pendant emitted a soft, continuous glow. It was the Star Spirit, whispering.
The hazy halo of light seemed much more active than usual, its specks of light gently swirling.
To an outsider, it just looked like a warm light was flickering on Lu You’s chest.
Lu You was a little confused. She tried to communicate using a faint bit of her Spiritual Power:
"Star, what’s wrong?"
What the Star Spirit transmitted was not a clear idea, but a strong sense of direction and an intense curiosity.
It seemed to be drawn to the Ancient Divine Deer resting quietly beside Mr. Tree in the center of the square.
More accurately, it was drawn to an extremely subtle, ancient rhythm emanating from the Ancient Divine Deer, one that seemed almost detached from the present time and space.
The Tri-color Pupa also seemed to be stirred by this strange fluctuation. It shifted slightly in its Pet Beast Bag, emitting even clearer waves of Spiritual Perception.
Like invisible tentacles, they cautiously reached out in the direction of the Ancient Divine Deer.
It was a soon-to-be Rainbow Wing Butterfly. Although it hadn’t completed its Evolution yet, its Spiritual Element Power was growing stronger with each passing day.
With just a brief moment of Perception, it captured an aura with a special kind of Spiritual quality.
The Star Spirit’s ball of light flickered erratically in the pendant. It seemed to have borrowed the Tri-color Pupa’s extended and extremely sensitive spiritual ’tentacles’ to capture information that ordinary people could never perceive.
Suddenly, the scene before Lu You’s eyes distorted slightly.
She seemed to see, superimposed over the real Ancient Divine Deer’s form, a much larger, older, and more illusory image!
It was the phantasmal image of a much more ancient Ancient Divine Deer Ancestor!
Its antlers were like ancient coral that had weathered millennia of wind and frost, their patterns so deep they seemed to hold the secrets of the birth and death of stars.
Its eyes held a silvery-white light that seemed to see through eternity, filled with both compassion and indifference.
It was not a physical entity, but more like an imprint projected across time and space.
Or perhaps, it was a spiritual echo left behind by some grand ceremony.
This ancient phantom lay resting in an unknown place, its posture solemn, as if it were in the middle of a vast and ancient festival attended by all living beings.
Through the Star Spirit’s Power, Lu You heard countless faint, devout prayers and chants carried on the wind, coming from all directions and converging into an invisible torrent.
At first, she didn’t understand.
As the Tri-color Pupa also radiated confusion, Lu You sensed that this ceremony in the Lanqi City square was anything but simple.
It didn’t just cover a single square. Its range of influence was incredibly vast.
The spot where Lu You stood was possibly just the tip of the iceberg.
On a larger scale, it could be a "node" or a "branch" of a massive, nationwide spiritual network!
Mr. Tree’s Ancient Divine Deer was perhaps just a "clone" or an "aftershock" that had caused this network to manifest here.
At that very moment, the Star Spirit’s radiance suddenly became bright and stable.
The Star Spirit wasn’t supposed to be involved today, but stimulated by the wondrous spiritual resonance of the Ancient Divine Deer, it had manifested passively, yet powerfully, for the first time!
Lu You’s "gaze" was involuntarily drawn to the image of the Cyan Pine that all the students were performing Visualization on.
In the perspective inexplicably shared by the Star Spirit, the depths of the seemingly ordinary Cyan Pine—a symbol of tenacity—appeared to be faintly connected to the distant time and space where the ancient phantom resided.
’This is...?’ Lu You wondered.
’The Star Spirit didn’t have this kind of ability before.’
’Could it be... that its ability has awakened?’
Rumor had it that Star Spirits had many "career paths."
These included abilities like astrology, prophecy, and the Light and Water Elements.
The rarest among them was the ability of the Prophetic Element.
Right now, she had a vague feeling, a sense that the roots of this Cyan Pine had an unreal quality to them, as if they weren’t burrowing into rock, but into the flowing river of time itself.
It seemed harmless now, but at some point in the future, this "Cyan Pine"—visualized by countless people and imbued with a special spiritual meaning—might undergo some kind of unknown, dangerous transformation!
Lu You drew a sharp breath, snapping out of that profound state of perception.
The light from the Star Spirit on her chest faded quickly, seemingly exhausted from the immense expenditure of energy.
The Tri-color Pupa also transmitted a wave of fatigue; the extended perception had been a considerable burden on it as well.
Only the Sunflower Seed-eating Hamster was still obliviously nibbling on its seed, completely unaware of what had just happened.
Lu You’s heart was racing, and cold sweat beaded on her palms.
She subconsciously searched the crowd for Gu Ming.
The students around her were still immersed in their Cultivation, oblivious to the spiritual intersection that had just transcended time and space.
Their young Pet Beasts also remained quietly by their sides, some looking around curiously, others dozing off. Everything was as normal, as if nothing had happened at all.
Only Lu You, thanks to the Star Spirit’s accidental and nearly unrepeatable prophetic ability, had glimpsed the turbulent undercurrents beneath the calm surface.
’What in the world is going on? Why did Gu Ming tell me to keep an eye on them?’
She looked at the still-smiling Mr. Tree in the center of the square, then at the students who were trying so hard to "become the Cyan Pine."
A wave of bewilderment and a strange fear, mixed with a chilling sense of dread, swept over her.
