Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis
Chapter 101 - 90: Seaside Town and Madness[You have been tainted by "Madness." Anomaly progress accumulating...]
The game displayed a notification. Both of them could feel the progress of this anomalous status steadily rising. No one knew what would happen once it reached its breaking point.
A sense of urgency gripped Li Miao. "Faster!" he shouted. "We need to get to shore, now!"
"This is as fast as it goes!"
The ocean waves were erratic and chaotic, crashing in from all directions. One moment they pushed the ship forward, the next they hindered its advance.
And that wasn’t the only obstacle in their path.
"Hee hee hee hee..."
One after another, Mad Fishermen shambled out from the surroundings, sporadically slashing at the pair or even trying to ram them in a frenzy.
Making headway was incredibly difficult, and with no room to Dodge on the Spirit Fire Ship, Shore carelessly took a knife to the shoulder.
Immediately after, Shore felt the progress bar for the anomalous status suddenly jump!
"Goddammit!"
Shore angrily yanked the Flying Knife from his shoulder and sent a Blood Stone Burst straight at the Mad Fisherman, turning it to dust.
At that moment, they realized the lighthouse’s searchlight wasn’t just continuously increasing their anomalous status; it was also marking them for the surrounding Mad Fishermen.
What’s more, it wasn’t just the Mad Fishermen. Even some of the monsters in the sea had now locked onto them, launching round after round of attacks.
But the two were formidable, and their teamwork was impeccable.

[You have slain a Mad Fisherman]
[You have slain a Spiney Piranha]

The continuous replenishment from the Recovery Wax Blocks and the Spirit Fire Ship was also crucial.
It was what allowed their small boat to struggle onward through the torrential rain and violent waves.
Their arduous efforts paid off. As they pushed forward, the cluster of buildings previously shrouded in rain and fog finally unveiled itself before them.
The Spirit Candle’s guidance led here!
"Hee hee heh..."
"Hee hee my ass! I’ll smash your damn head in!"
Shore roared and unleashed another Blood Stone Burst, obliterating a Mad Fisherman that was trying to ram them.
Li Miao just thought Shore was getting tilted from the constant harassment. Since they were almost at the shore anyway, he didn’t pay it much mind.
SWISH!
With a furious shout from Li Miao, a Crescent Moon Sword Qi shot from the blade of his Greatsword, slicing a grotesque, sawtooth-mawed fish in two and splattering blood and gore everywhere.
But even after killing monster after monster, Li Miao felt the rage in his heart refuse to subside.
He couldn’t worry about that right now, though.
"We’re here!"
At last, the Spirit Fire Ship reached the shore. Li Miao leaped off, sinking up to his waist before his feet touched the bottom.
The Spirit Candle’s guidance pointed to a spot beneath the eaves of a building, behind a pile of debris.
But even though they had reached the coast, the towering lighthouse’s searchlight didn’t stop tracking them, its eerie, pale-red beam fixed upon their bodies.
"Hurry up! The bar is almost full! What are you doing...?"
Li Miao heard no response from Shore. Frowning, he urged him on again as he turned around.
But when he saw Shore’s condition behind him, his heart leaped into his throat.
Veins bulged on Shore’s face, and his eyes were blood-red. He stared straight ahead, head cocked to the side, letting out a low, unsettling laugh.
"Hee hee hee hee..."
Shore took out his Devil Fish Tail Staff, aimed the tip at his own throat, and then viciously jammed it in, churning it around wildly.
SQUELCH!
After his guts were pierced and his stomach torn open, his Candle Spirit Body—which shouldn’t have been able to bleed—began to gush crimson blood.
"You..."
The scene was so gruesome, the shock so immense, that even Li Miao froze for a moment, a chill running down his spine.
But beyond that, there was also an unshakeable rage and a building... Madness!
"Fuck, I’m finally out!"
"Li Miao, what the hell are you gawking at?! Get to the flame, you dumbass!"
Shore’s Wandering Soul rose from his Candle Spirit Body. Having narrowly escaped death, he immediately started yelling at Li Miao.
This time, however, his tone wasn’t rage, but anxiety.
’If that idiot Li Miao dies here too, we’d have to do the whole run over again!’
Shore’s roar snapped Li Miao back to his senses. He forcibly suppressed the seething rage with his reason and sprinted desperately toward the shore.
Finally, he reached the eaves and touched the Spirit Candle.
Under the eaves, the lighthouse’s searchlight could no longer reach them. After lingering for a moment, it finally moved away.
The figure of the Candlekeeper appeared. He glanced at the towering lighthouse, then looked at the two of them.
"Be careful."
After speaking, his form dissipated, and in his place, Shore quickly materialized beside the Spirit Candle.
Seeing Li Miao let out a breath and move to touch the Spirit Candle to recover, Shore quickly stopped him. "Wait!"
"What are you doing?" Li Miao’s brow furrowed, the whites of his eyes now completely filled with blood vessels pulsing with Madness and rage.
"Try using Law Oath on this status effect," Shore said. He wasn’t angry, of course; he knew full well that this bizarre anomaly was the cause.
Hearing this, Li Miao’s reason once again took hold. Without a second thought, he placed a fist over his chest and activated Law Oath.
A golden phantom of the Gulard Law materialized behind him for a moment.
Li Miao let out a breath and touched the flame to recover, saying, "It works, but it can’t clear it completely. It only reduces the accumulated progress by about a third."
