Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis
Chapter 110 94: Left or Right? The two of them demanded in unison.
After speaking, they both buried their faces in their hands, their expressions contorted in anguish.
'Dammit, what kind of teamwork was that?!'
Before long, Bu Long resurrected. Brother Mangzi promptly died again and resurrected in turn.
This time, Bu Long said quickly, "We're going by my directions!"
"Alright!"
Brother Mangzi agreed without hesitation.
The pair quickly began a new round of combat.
It was the same old story, the same old recipe for disaster.
"Left! My left!"
'Left? Got it!'
Brother Mangzi charged out instinctively, but halfway through his dash, he realized something was wrong.
'His left is my… uh…'
Brother Mangzi froze, his brain short-circuiting.
It's a well-known fact that a rusty gear can easily break if suddenly forced to turn. Perhaps the same could be said for a mind trying to process a problem.
His moment of hesitation was all the Blood Robe Priest needed to unleash a Blood-colored Shock.
BAM! Brother Mangzi was sent flying, landing in a heap, severely injured.
Seeing this, Bu Long buried his face in his hands, exasperated. "My left is your right! Couldn't you just flip it in your head?!"
Seizing the chance, Brother Mangzi tossed a Recovery Wax Block into his mouth and took a deep breath.
"Alright! Forget left and right, I'm just gonna slash!"
"To hell with tactics!"
"We'll just stick to our usual rhythm!"
"Dammit… I'm going in!"
At his breaking point, Brother Mangzi let out a roar and charged.
Honestly, he and Bu Long usually had perfect synergy, barely needing to speak.
They instinctively made the best choices during a fight.
But now, forcing themselves to use verbal commands and rigid tactics only held them back, stripping them of their natural advantage.
Since neither of them was skilled in that area, it only served to weaken them.
This was especially true for Brother Mangzi.
Normally, he could think rationally when he wasn't angry. But the Blood Robe Priest's infuriating, hit-and-run tactics had him seeing red. How could he possibly find a moment to stop and think?
Seeing this, Bu Long could only abandon the idea of using tactics. With a roar, he once again drew the aggro of the surrounding monsters.
However, reality doesn't cut you slack just because you're angry.
Even after reverting to their old fighting style, all it did was slightly prolong the time it took for them to be worn down and killed. No miracle power-up occurred.
And so...
A good while later, the two of them sat in silence by the Spirit Candle in the alley, not uttering a single word.
The repeated losses had left them completely demoralized.
"...Sorry about that. I think I accidentally hit you a few times back there." Brother Mangzi sounded genuinely guilty for his mistakes.
Hearing this, Bu Long replied with an almost reflexive shake of his head.
"Don't worry, it didn't hurt."
Combined with Bu Long's oddly high-pitched, childish voice, the effect was bizarre.
It inexplicably felt like being taunted by a little kid in a video game.
A muscle in Brother Mangzi's cheek twitched.
'So you're saying I didn't hit you hard enough, is that it?'

"Haha, see? I told you there was a way to clear out these mobs quickly! Mushroom, how about that plan of mine?"
After picking up the loot from the Blood Robe Priest, Niuniu proudly pulled his sword from the last Mad Meatball and looked toward Mushroom.
The corner of Mushroom's eye twitched, but he had to admit that Niuniu, that guy, was full of clever ideas. And what's more, this one had actually worked.
The Blood Robe Priest was definitely a handful; that would be true for anyone.
Before the fight, the Blood Robe Priest had been surrounded by a mob of hanged ghouls and had an Array in front of it. At first, Niuniu thought it might have a story-related weakness.
Like, maybe destroying the Array would trigger a special story battle or something.
But after he and Mushroom gave it a try, they found that wasn't the case.
This thing was just a stubborn, annoying pest that could really wear you down.
To beat it, you either had to take down its main body quickly or eliminate its Sacrificial Living Corpses. Doing the latter would temporarily incapacitate it, allowing them to finish it off quickly in a two-on-one fight.
The problem was, the two were mutually reinforcing.
The Sacrificial Living Corpses provided the Blood Robe Priest with healing and mobility, while the Priest, in turn, could summon more of them.
So, to sum it up in one word—disgusting!
However, Niuniu figured that if they were patient enough, it wasn't out of the question to just completely drain the Blood Robe Priest's Physical Strength before killing it.
After all, it was just a monster, while they were players with infinite Resurrections. With a Spirit Candle right nearby, two players could easily wear it down with a war of attrition.
But that would undoubtedly take a huge amount of time and energy.
So, Niuniu started looking for a better way.
Finally, inspiration struck. He turned his attention to the Mad Meatballs in the tavern.
The tavern housing the Mad Meatballs faced the square directly. If he could control their direction, using them to attack the Sacrificial Living Corpses would be no problem at all.
And Niuniu had succeeded.
The four Mad Meatballs were like bowling balls; a single charging roll mowed down a huge swath of Sacrificial Living Corpses.
With four of them bouncing off each other and rolling back and forth, the Blood Robe Priest couldn't even find time to summon replacements.
And so, Niuniu and Mushroom seized the opportunity to finish it off.
The method wasn't perfect, though.
After all, the Mad Meatballs didn't distinguish between friend and foe. They would crush anything in their path, monster or player. One careless slip-up, and you could easily get killed in the crossfire.
But thankfully, Niuniu and Mushroom's plan went off without a hitch, and they successfully mopped up.
"How do you always come up with these crazy schemes?" Mushroom couldn't help but mutter. He walked forward and lit the Spirit Candle that appeared in the center of the square.
Now that a Spirit Candle had appeared here, it probably meant the Blood Robe Priest was a unique boss for this area and wouldn't resurrect again.
Niuniu just chuckled. He walked over to the Spirit Candle and, while recovering his Physical Strength, said smugly, "That's Talent for you, combined with my courageous Spirit of experimentation!"
"Right. No wonder you were the first person to piss off the Candlekeeper."
Seeing him getting carried away, Mushroom poured cold water on his parade with a sneer.
"Er..." Niuniu was suddenly at a loss for words.
'That Mushroom, he really knows how to hit where it hurts.'
"Tch, he's just an NPC, isn't he? Even if he's an important story NPC, he's still just an NPC. I can just grind his affinity back up."
Niuniu said dismissively.
He could only say that because he was still in the game. If he were to log off and see the message Li Miao had sent in the group chat, Niuniu would probably feel like his world was ending.
Mushroom could only shrug at his response.
He had a point, after all. Fundamentally, there was nothing wrong with his logic.
"Let me see what dropped."
Mushroom held out his hand, and Niuniu passed the items over.
"Looks like a Fire Seed for the Faith School."
"If we can use Fusion on it... setting everything else aside, just getting that insane healing ability would be amazing."
[Fire Seed·Blood Robe Priest (Initial Stage)]
[Type: Special Item]
[Effect: After successfully introducing it into your body and achieving Fusion with your own Warfire, you will gain a powerful buff. (Note: The Talents and Skills provided by this Warfire require specific conditions to be fully effective.)]
[Explanation: Although this is a Fire Seed compatible with Warfire Fusion, the root of its Power lies in the ominous and the unknown. Even the Blood Robe Priest paid an unimaginable price to master this Power...]
"'Requires specific conditions to be fully effective?'"
Mushroom scratched his head, intrigued.
Though they were tempted to try, they didn't meet the Fusion requirements for the Blood Robe Priest Fire Seed.
But the conditions provided by the game were strange.
[Faith Value insufficient, Spiritual Value too high]
"Why is there an upper limit on an Attribute for this?"
Neither Mushroom nor Niuniu had ever seen anything like it.
Niuniu tried it as well and just clicked his tongue in amazement. "My Warrior only has five points in Spirit, and my Spiritual Value is *still* too high? How the hell am I supposed to use Fusion on this thing?"
The two of them had gone straight to the square instead of the lighthouse, so naturally, they didn't know about the brain-like monster inside it.
"Whatever, let's just hang onto it for now. We can ask the others in the group chat later."
Since neither of them planned on using the Blood Robe Priest's Fire Seed, they put it away and checked the next item.
